This book was a good read. It started off very well and captured my attention pretty quickly but I feel like it lost that pull around 35 percent in. Even with that fact I was still able to finish reading the book it just took me a bit longer than normal. It was a good story and a book I did enjoy. I will end up reading more from this author.
This story is about a girl who gets herself involved in some crazy conspiracy, FBI investigation, and a huge secret involving her new boss. Is her boss going to get away with it? Will he be stopped in time? The suspense was real, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story. I think I held my breath for the last 100 pages. This is a great book full of excitement and suspense.
Madi is scared of her own shadow as she starts a new job. Her new boss is crossing lines with how he creeps her out with his interactions. Her boss is much more than her employer. He is part of her nightmares. Madi, along with new friends, is pushed & dragged out of her comfort zone. She faces her worst nightmare. With nothing left to lose (except her life) Madi is pushed to her limits.
I enjoyed this story. The "adventure" parts seemed a little far out there for a woman scared of her own shadow. Traveling from here to there didn't add up to me. But the story line & characters kept me reading wanting to find out how it ended. There was a few parts I had to put it down & reread a page because my brain was in shock. The good kind of shock.
Really great book. Not my usual genre, but thoroughly enjoyed this. Related to main characters and writing was on point
Very exciting, fast-paced read with twists and turns throughout. It revolves around a piece of history that interests me deeply. Mainly, because I lived through it. But, even if you’re too young to remember it you will be intrigued. I highly recommend this book to everyone
I was really looking forward to reading this from the synopsis and from other reviews however I had to DNF. The story was quite clunky and I could not stand the “boss” I am an executive assistant myself and I felt like the stereotype was really played on and I don’t think in a good way.
A pulsating thriller read that definitely kept me on the edge. I enjoyed the action, the thrilling aspect this book completely delivered. Many thanks to netgalley and publishers for a copy of this arc!
The. Suspense. WOW! This book was written perfectly, I can hardly believe it is L.V Pederson’s first book. The book obviously has ties to 9/11 (a day no one will ever forget), but I had no idea how much it would actually include 9/11. As luck would have it I became ready to read a new book on none other than 9/11/2024, it was a very odd feeling for me being that my next book was 9 Minutes 11 Seconds.
The very beginning was very triggering for me since my family and I have experienced a similar tragedy (but it did not result in death, thank goodness), after I got through the first chapter it was a literal hunger to read this book as much as I could,
This book does a perfect job of keeping you in suspense, keeping you wondering and living on the edge of your seat as you try to guess the next move. The characters are described so perfectly that you literally can’t not imagine exactly what they look like and how perfect they are for their roles. The words chosen to be descriptive of a scene or a person is very methodical and well thought, it was evident that the author took the time to assign words very appropriately. The whole book could almost play out in a perfectly directed movie in your head as you read.
This book was absolute perfection and I am very grateful I was able to read it early. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the world thinks of Maddie and her survivor journey.
This was unputdownable! It grabbed me in the first sentence and didn't let me go until I'd devoured the entire thing. The characters are empathetic and relatable. But it's the situation, fraught with tension and suspense, that kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved this book!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.
I enjoyed it. The beginning was not as eventful as I thought it would be. Slowly it gets eventful. It did have some good action in it. I loved the detective work and rescue missio.. A little bit of romance, self-discovery and revenge. After years of struggling with blame, she finally learns the truth. It was never her fault.
:
Most definitely recommend this book to ones that like thrillers and crime books. It was a little bit of a slow beginning but one it started it just did not seem to stop. I did enjoy the 9/11 connection and how it was done in this book (I also read it the week anniversary of 9/11 which kind of added to the book a bit as well). I did feel a connection with Madison throughout the book which just added to the book.
If you enjoy a good thriller with some twists then I most definitely recommend this book!
SOMEONE TAKE ME BACK TO WHEN I COULD READ THIS BOOK AGAIN!
This book gave us eerie. This book gave us unsettling. This book gave us textbook thriller in the best way possible and I am so mad I finished it so quickly.
I seriously enjoyed this read, I love our protagonist I love the writing style, I love the pacing. I think the ending was very fitting for the story and everything felt believable. The first chapter hooked me in immediately and the rest is history.
I heavily recommend this read.
Thank you net galley for allowing me to read this as an ARC, amazing find.

Recommended? Obvious yes!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC which will be released January 2025. The book started off slowly but quickly picked up the pace. Well written and I could not put it down. I was not sure about the 9/11 connection, but it worked. It makes one think about the many possible “what ifs” from that fateful day. It looks like this is a debut novel by L V Pederson. I look forward to reading future books by this author. Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds is a fantastic suspense/thriller. It would make a good movie too.
This is my second ARC book review. Yay! 😁
As I was checking out NetGalley this books blurb caught my eye.
I liked it. It’s my first fiction book with 9/11 as the backdrop and I feel that the author handled it with respect through the exploration of trauma and resilience. There were a couple of remarks the young character makes that made me feel uncomfortable though - the comments were biased and based on stereotypes. So, I could have done without that. Also, the character Madison’s reactions (some were rightfully so) but mostly the others were unnecessarily over the top and I could feel myself rolling my eyes.
A few things felt a little unrealistic but the main storyline of a new threat connecting to 9/11 did not. It felt scarily real. The parts with the FBI and CIA operatives brought me back to the intensity and drive of the book/show Jack Ryan. That was my favorite part about the reading. It felt like a thriller and that I was like “c’mon, c’mon read faster I need to know what happens.”
Thank you to NetGalley, L. V. Pederson, and the publisher for the opportunity to read the ARC for this!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Gripping Thriller That Keeps You on the Edge of Your Seat!
Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds by L.V. Pederson is an absolute masterpiece in the thriller genre. From the very first page, Pederson hooks you with a suspenseful, heart-wrenching narrative that explores trauma, resilience, and the interconnectedness of human lives.
The story follows Madison, a young woman starting her first real job as an executive assistant at a Silicon Valley tech giant. She hopes to leave her troubled past in Boston behind, but her new life takes a dark turn when a young employee is found dead after an evening jog. Madison's charismatic VP boss fills her with unease, and as she uncovers his deadly secret, her ordinary life is thrust into a high-stakes conspiracy that the FBI is desperate to crack.
Pederson's writing is both evocative and precise, painting vivid scenes that make you feel as if you're right there with the characters. The pacing is impeccable, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that makes it impossible to put the book down. The event that lasts exactly nine minutes and eleven seconds is a brilliant plot device that ties the characters' fates together in a way that is both shocking and deeply moving.
Madison is a well-developed protagonist whose journey from a hopeful newcomer to a determined survivor is both believable and inspiring. The supporting characters are equally compelling, each with their own secrets and motivations that add depth to the story.
In conclusion, Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds is a must-read for anyone who loves a good thriller. It's a story that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page. L.V. Pederson has truly outdone himself with this one. Highly recommended!
THRILLER that is what this book is an absolute thriller which gripped my attention, and did not let go. Madison was the type of character that I was not use to; flawed as most him as most humans are. On September 11th terror attacks, Madison lost her father. She moved to away to California with feelings of regret/ guilt on her last conversation with her dad. That which she went thru loosing her father, and feelings of regret helped to set her on course to make things right, and help others.
I look forward to reading other works from this author.
Thanks to NetGalley and Raconteur 888 Press for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. “Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds” is scheduled for publication on January 10, 2025.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, thrilling novel that reads like an action movie, look no further. “Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds” by L.V. Pederson will grab you from the get-go and hold you there until the final pages.
In present day Silicon Valley, Samantha Dockett is killed by a hit-and-run driver. Now Madison Maxwell sits in the dead woman’s cubicle at Know, Inc., a tech giant with a charismatic VP who looks strikingly familiar to Madison. That’s because Madison’s past is striking. As a young girl, she waved goodbye to her father at Boston’s Logan Airport the day before her birthday, not knowing that a short time later he would be on American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Since then, Madison has been obsessed with the terrorist mastermind behind the World Trade Center attack known as Mohamed Attar, whose body was never found amid the rubble and destruction. And she quickly latches on to the belief that her new boss, T.J. Kahn, is in fact the supposedly deceased terrorist. Together with her newfound friend, computer geek extraordinaire Will, she sets out to prove that Kahn is really Attar, who never died on 9/11.
Until the FBI and national security step in. Then things get really lively.
There are a few moments where you’re likely to raise your eyebrows and say to yourself, if not out loud, “Now that’s a bit of a stretch.” But the story is fiction, so you accept the premise as is. The action, however, is genuine, and Pederson’s narrative and character development have you rooting for Madison from the start.
Even when you’re able to say, “I saw that coming,” the turn of events still has the desired effect.
The pace accelerates at breakneck speed over the last several chapters until the climax, and then Pederson neatly brings the story full circle without being corny.
I fully enjoyed “Nine Minutes Eleven Seconds,” and highly recommend it. Five out of five stars for this thriller that will be hard to put down.
Perfect for fans of high-octane thrillers, this book delves into the tense world of FBI and CIA operatives as they navigate a new threat and urgent threat connected to the events of 9/11. Packed with suspense and intrigue, it’s a must-read for those who love fast-paced, intelligence-driven dramas.
First, thank you so much for sending me an ARC to read and review! It is my first one and I was so excited to get reading!
This book had me hooked from the beginning and was hard to put down until I finished it! It kept my interest throughout the book and had me thinking about the events that took place in the book!
This book kept me in the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. I’m not sure I would’ve chosen this book to read, but I’m so glad I got to read it. It’s now one of my favorites.
Madison lost her father on September 11th. She has regretted her last words to her father since then. Madison gets a new job in Silicon Valley and a way to help her resolve her feelings. (I don’t want to spoil any of the story).
This story is one of the longer thrillers I’ve read, but well worth it.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review the book.
