More devotional with tips and reflective questions than a step-by-step guide, “Take Your Seat at the Table” was a good read. I’ve seen multiple videos of Anthony’s podcast online, so I was interested to delve deeper into his story and see how I could relate to it. He was easily relatable and the mix of his life experiences and reflective moments the book prompted from me set this apart from other books in a similar category I’ve read. While it might seem a little surface to some (if you’ve read a ton of self-help or finance books), I think it’s a great intro to the genre of personal growth. It is also great for fans of his work to learn more about him and be guided through rethinking our lives/circumstances through the different sections.

Take Your Seat at the Table is undeniably a page turner! Anthony dissects six major areas of life inspiring readers to dig deep, reassess your seat, and fulfill your God-given assignment. Without this shared experience and guidance, some areas in my own life would still be stagnant. Anthony’s easy read is a compelling story about creating abundance, wellness and freedom. I’ve read it and am ready to water these seeds so I can blossom. If you’re ready to grow, grab a copy—or maybe grab two. I guarantee you won’t regret this book because a space is reserved at the head of the table for you! 🔥

Anthony O'Neal gives wisdom on how to take control of your aspirations to sit at your own table while recognizing that your 'other' life experiences can, too, catapult you into your place at your own table.

AO!!! Can you tell in just that statement that I was already a fan? Probably yes. If you listen to his podcast, you know what this book will deliver: personality, vulnerability, heart, finances, and empowerment. It was everything I thought it would be, and from the first chapter where he talked about not having a seat at the table during a big presentation, I was hooked. I could sympathize. Now, it's time for me to act on what AO delivered on. Wish me luck.

I loved this book for many reasons but mostly because of the how the visual of filling the seats at your table are discussed. I have always heard about how it is important to surround yourself with the right people but this book broke down WHO needs to be at your table as well as their FUNCTION/WHY. For example, he mentions have spiritual covering, a mentor, therapist, financial advisor etc but also having empty seats for people to rotate in and out depending on the circumstance at hand. The table represents your life and the purpose you were placed on earth to fulfill. There is no way to accomplish your purpose alone, you need other people to help you, so choosing to take control of your table is very important. The arrangement of your table directly relates to the things God wants to do through you and can change the community and even the world and is not something to be taken lightly. Be strategic and purposeful when choosing who should have a seat at your table.
