4.5/5 rounded up to 5 stars. Their Viscountess is the fifth book in the Theirs series. This can be read as a standalone and was also a new to me author.
It’s an entertaining and well-written ménage erotic romance. I enjoyed this reconnecting story and their emotional reunion. A quick read that’s packed with spice and a HEA.
I’ll be adding this author to my shortlist for when I’m looking for a book with a lot of steam.
There were four encounters and each scene was MFM.
I received an advance ecopy from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Their Viscountess by Jess Michaels
This is the fifth book in Theirs series. This is a MMF.
So I did some research, and apparently the positioning of the letters matters. And now you know. Male on male, male on woman, all three together, party time.
This is a story of surviving and coming out on the other side, pun intended. Classic story of the wife being "property". But a twist, she escapes from the awful husband and falls into her dream scenario back with the men she loves from her childhood. They were separated due to class, but now they can stand together and find the happiness denied to them.
“Their Viscountess” by Jess Michaels is another winner in the historical erotic romance genre. She brings together two men and one woman from different backgrounds to create a passionate, scorching hot love affair. Emilia Harris, Aiden Edwards, and Gilbert Wren always felt they were destined to be together, they were the loves of each other’s lives. However, because Emilia was a lady, and her loves were the son of a man of affairs and the son of a butler they were tearfully forced to go their separate ways. Emilia’s father was marrying her off to Viscount Wilburn, and so, they parted. Emilia married, Wren became a sought after investigator, and Aiden a successful solicitor. Seven years later the three came together again after Emilia feared her husband was trying to kill her. I enjoyed this story as much as I did the others in the series. The characters were well thought out and the plot kept me reading, wanting to know how these three lovers were going to make a life together. I also enjoyed the inclusion of Richard, Hux, and Zara, the sexy threesome from “Their Countess”. This is an MMF story with plenty of erotic open door scenes that Jess Michaels writes so well. This is definitely recommended for those who enjoy scorching hot, historical MMF stories.
I received this book from NetGallery, my thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
Emilia, Wren & Aiden - a delicious three-way MMF childhood-friends-to-lovers romance with two protective heroes saving their woman from an abusive husband.
Somehow they had always known they were made for each other, but class-difference kept them apart. Emilia - a baron’s daughter, Wren - her father’s butler’s son turned renowned investigator, and Aiden - her father’s man of business son turned successful barrister.
Their paths separate when Emilia is married off to a viscount - a cruel controlling man, separating her from her family and friends, demanding his heir and spare, and decides to dispose of his wife after seven barren years. She finally reaches out to Aiden who kidnaps her, and Wren is the one the viscount hires to track them down.
Tucked away in a forgotten cottage, they choose to celebrate their reunion in every possible way indulging in all their secret desires and fantasies. But then reality kicks in and they’re forced to come up with plan to save her and their unusual relationship.
The plot is interesting and so are the characters, their romance is rather moving and it has that certain unputdownable quality, but that’s not why I read this series...
To be honest, it’s the mouthwatering, scrumptious, decadent, liberating, all-consuming, sizzling passion - this author delivers time and time again, and she writes it so wonderfully well!
This is a fast, tantalising and deliciously dirty story! A must read for a wicked afternoon!
I received an ARC from the author/publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
Their Viscountess is the fifth book in Jess Michaels’ Thiers series. It can be read as a stand-alone, although there are some references to other Michaels titles, both in this series and another recent series, and as a fairly avid reader of the Jess Michaels oeuvre, I was delighted.
I love that the story has the foundation of three best friends who became something more, torn apart by Emilia’s father marrying her, and reunited when Emilia reaches out to Aiden to rescue her from her now-abusive husband, and Wren being unwittingly hired by her husband to find her. I loved the exploration of the long-pent-up feelings between the three of them, parted by obstacles of class differences and toxic parents and husbands. While a Michaels books, and one in the Theirs series especially, has a strong focus on the sexual element, there’s equal focus on the emotional connection and history that bonds the three of them. And there’s a bit more plot than some of the others in the series, with them needing to figure out a way to either bring down or escape from the vengeful viscount.
This was an enjoyable read, and I’d recommend it to historical romance romance readers looking for something short and sexy with polyamorous/menage rep.
This series was similar to the others but not as satisfying, the connection and story wasn't given enough for me to be into them
Synopsis: Emilia fell in love with her childhood friends who were not in her social group. Her dad arranged a marriage with a Viscount who only wanted her to give him heirs. When she didn't provide those for him, she believes he tried to kill her. She calls on one of her childhood friends to whisk her away and the Viscount hires the other to find her. They are reunited and work through their emotions while trying to plot a way to save Emilia.
I loved the chemistry that they had for each other and the backstory. Although I do love some spice, this book was all spice and had no plot (I expected more from the book description). For them being “in love” with each other, they keep a lot of secrets. Furthermore, the ending was very anticlimactic, I expected much more. This really bothered me and is why I am giving it two stars.
Thank you NetGalley and The Passionate Pen, LLC for letting me read this early! All opinions are my own.
It's a conundrum...
Emilia, Wren and Aidan all grew up together, but because of the difference in class and station, Emilia was married off to a toff who she believes is trying to kill her. She reached out to Aidan to secret her away. Meanwhile, her husband hires Wren to track her down and bring her back into his nefarious clutches.
This threesome has to work through some issues, find a way to be together (right) and get down to business, steamy business. Jess Michaels imbues their threesome with emotion and caring along side a hefty dose of steam.
Recommend.
Their Viscountess was a short, steamy book that features more erotica than plot. It was well written and had a happy ending(albeit a bit unrealistic). You could feel the love amongst the characters. I hadn’t read anything by this author before so I was a bit disappointed there wasn’t more plot to the story.
Spicy all the way through. I'll need a cold shower or three to recover.
Ms. Michael's is a wonderful writer who immediately draws you in to care about the characters and their happy ending.
Emilia, Wren and Aiden were childhood friends who knew they desired and loved each other, but their disparate classes and her father’s intention to wed her to a title separated them. They had all accepted that they would likely never be together again, Aiden had become a solicitor & Wren an investigator. Emilia’s marriage to a viscount was anything but happy, and it has turned dangerous. She believes he’s trying to kill her as he desires an heir so in desperation she reaches out to Aiden to steal her away and save her. Meanwhile, her husband has also hired Wren to find his wayward wife.
The fifth book in the series & I think my favourite so far. I devoured this steamy, engrossing book in a sitting. I loved all three main characters & loved the chemistry between them all & how they opened up to each other & worked together to move forward. The story flowed effortlessly & I was hoping the trio would escape & loved the solution which was decided upon. There was also cameo appearances from an earlier trio & their meeting helped to make up Emilia’s mind.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own
My second, maybe tied with first, favorite book in this series. The dynamics between the main characters was one of undeniable love. Jess writes them with caring that I actually teared up during parts of the story. Oh, and I loved seeing my favorite character from this series, Huxley, helping these characters.
I love second chances at love and Aiden, Emilia and Wren get that but a lot happens first and not all of it good. I loved the three main characters and how they come back together to protect Emilia. It’s a well written and entertaining storyline and one that is worth reading.
Emilia, Wren, and Aiden grew up together on Emilia’s father’s estate but when her father marries her off the three go their separate ways. Several years later Emilia’s asks for Aiden’s help in escaping her marriage and her husband hires Wren to find the pair leading to all three uniting. At the remote cottage the three work through the pains of their pasts and give in to the attraction between the three of them. The three must then figure out how they can stay together and continue their relationship.
I love this series. The books are short, steamy, and really sweet. I love how well Jess is able to fully develop three characters in so few pages. The chemistry between the three was there from page one and only grew. While this wasn’t my favorite of Jess’s Their’s series, I still had a great time and will happily read more in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Passionate Pen in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this. I have only read two in this series I need to go back and read the others. The couple from the third book makes an appearance here. I don’t know how this author does it. This is erotica with a plot and you truly feel the love and attraction between all the characters. And we got our epilogue of a happy ending! The only thing I felt the last book was missing. Loved it. Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This series has an interesting conceit, but I’m not sure that each installment is that different from another. Also, I wish there would be one with two women.
Jess Michaels continues her series of hot historical MMF erotic romances with Their Viscountess. Wren, Aidan, and Emilia were childhood friends who really wished they could be lovers. Now Emilia needs to escape a dangerously unhappy marriage. . Luckily Wren and Aidan are there to help.
Let's just say they help by secreting her away in a cottage in the country and having a 3-wayhoneymoon as they figure out how to help her leave her husband. I read these books for one reason, and that Jess Michael's delivers. That's all I need to say about that.
This objective review is based on a complimentary copy of the novella.
Genre: MMF historical romance
Emilia, Wren, and Aiden grew up together: she the daughter of the house, the boys, sons of servants. It was always the three of them, and it was always going to be the three of them...until the day Emilia's father engages her to a viscount. The three kiss, but go their separate ways because it's all three or nothing. Now, seven years later, Emilia is trapped in a marriage where she suspects her husband is trying to kill her because she hasn't produced an heir. Wren is an inspector and Aiden is solicitor. Emilia's husband calls in Wren to find Emilia after she's been kidnapped....by Aiden. When the three are reunited, they realize there's only way forward and it involves the three of them together.
I know exactly what to expect going into a Jsss Michaels MMF book now. These books have solid character development for around 150 pages, and Michaels does a good job of developing believability in the relationships between each character. The intimate scenes are very hot because she does spend time developing a little bit of chemistry.
That said, this wasn't my favorite of the Theirs books - I've liked these books because Jess Michaels negotiates solid happily ever afters, and this one didn't work as well for me. But also I don't read these for the plot, so I still recommend it!
Thank you to Passionate Pen and NetGalley for an eARC review. Their Viscountess is out 7/16/24.
