I really enjoyed this book as a way to think about the current state of our world, and how to talk about it with young children. I appreciated that it was able to talk about this very important topic in a frank, unsparing, way, while still managing to keep hope alive. As a parent of young children, I feel a certain amount of guilt for bringing them into this profoundly screwed up world, and this book helped me to alleviate some of that guilt. If I can raise good citizens who will be more conscious of these issues than my generation has been, I'm doing something right.
