Highly recommended for parents, educators, and anyone looking to inspire a love of science and nature in the next generation.
This was fun! I appreciated the immediacy of the photos and illustrations, and it was really well structured overall.
A fun kids introduction to a fascinating subject.
My kids loved this book! It's super cute and wholesome and kept their attention the whole time during reading. I highly recommend this book and will purchase a physical copy.
The amount of detail and information in this book is amazing. Photographs and illustrations come together to show the inside of animal bodies. The book is organized very well, so that you can get to know the basic functions of animal bodies, but also the various adaptations that animals have. This would go well with learning about Zoology or a gift for a child who would want to one day become a veterinarian, zookeeper, or other carer of animals. It’s already on my daughter’s wishlist to add to our library.
Thank you NetGalley and DK Children for the opportunity to review this book prior to publication.
The major groupings are: anatomy (what's where and what is its shape), skeletons, muscles, circulation, respiration, digestion, senses, reproduction, integument, invertebrates, glossary, and index. The photos and drawings are totally awesome (as usual) and the explanations are clear and easily understood. Can't wait for the one I ordered for our library!
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting, but especially to a school, or your public library!
I requested and received a free temporary digital review copy on Adobe Digital Editions from DK | DK Children via NetGalley. Thank you!
We have made it 3/4 of the way through this read.
We loved this! My littles are into anything animal and science. We like to read informational books that are fun but also giving my littles exposure to learning as well. For example, this book has great illustrations and breaks down the information easily so that it is easier to understand and we can take our time going from one section to the next. When the kids are entertained and learning, its a plus.
Thank you NetGalley, Jess French, and DK Children for allowing my family to review.
What a cool way to get kids interested in anatomy. Animal books are always super popular. The pictures are beautiful and the graphics are interesting and informative. Evern if they don't mean to, anyone reading this will learn something about their own body too.
Thank you NetGalley fort the ARC. I will purchase for my library.
My seven-year-old son is obsessed with animals and this book was the perfect next step for his knowledge. He already knows a lot of general animal knowledge from his animal books, but this book gives the appropriate amount of information on how those animals' bodies actually work. We will be buying a physical copy of this book to add to his collection for sure!
