There’s something about Barbara O’Neal stories that I just can’t resist, she’s a fantastic storyteller. It’s hard to pick a favorite because each story I’ve read it’s mesmerizing, this one was no exception.
Powerful, romantic, mysterious, I loved every page.

This book was a whirlwind of OMG insanity!!

After Tillies mother dies, things start to happen to her but things get really strange after seeing a painting in a gallery that makes her lose consciousness. Thankfully a handsome stranger helps her. Liam is a sight to behold and they seem to have a connection but as Tillie's blackouts escalate, she can't deny that her subconscious is trying to tell her something.

Such a good story. I cannot believe the storytelling that went into this book. All the elements came together really well and I felt really engaged with the story. I like the writing style, narration was amazing and I will definitely be looking for more from the author.

Loved the magical realism undertones and the beautiful romance that will captivate you too.

I typically enjoy magical realism but this one didn't grab me. The "fated" couple wasn't believable and the story didn't grab me.

I was approved right before this was archived so I didn’t have a chance to listen to it. Super sad because I was really looking forward to it.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC audiobook of Memories of the Lost by Barbara O'Neal.

This was the first book I have read by this author and it did not disappoint. It sucks you in and you become engrossed in the magic it has to offer. Tillie is an artist that suffers with memory loss. In comes Liam who helps her discover the past.

I'm a little surprised to say that this was the first time I've read a Barbara O'Neal novel, though I've heard many good things. The hype did not disappoint! "Memories of the Lost" was engrossing and easy to sink into. Tillie is an ordinary woman, navigating through her grief over her mother's death, when she sees a painting in an art gallery that sends her reeling. There's something about the painting that is as familiar to her, and vaguely unsettling. At the same time, she feels an instant connection with a man who was attending the art showing as well. Together, they begin to unlock secrets in Tillie's past that lead her to a truth she could never have imagined.

I loved O'Neal's writing style, and how vividly she brought the characters to life. It was easy to cheer for Tillie, and easy to fall for Liam. I did get myself just a little bit confused on family connections at the end, but other than that small hiccup, my enjoyment of the book was near flawless.

The. narration and audiobook production was excellent. Thank you, Netgalley, Briliance Publishing, and Barbara O'Neal for an advance copy for review. This was my first O'Neal book but it won't be my last!

I really enjoyed this quick, whimsical book! I like invisible string theory in books, especially when done well like this one. I would've loved even more time in the English village.

Another beautifully written novel by Barbara O’Neal. This book kind of just sucks you in and makes you feel magic in everyday situations. And sometimes that magic presents itself in unusual ways that lead to the unexpected.

In Memories of the Lost, Tillie’s world is turned upside down when she is going through her deceased mother’s things. This sends her on a whirlwind mission of self-discovery as she uncovers family secrets. But is it fate when the handsome and charming Liam is thrown into the mix?

This is the fourth book that I have read by this author, and I have never been disappointed! She consistently delivers on quality stories and makes you feel as if you’re there watching it play out! Overall, I would rate this a very solid 4 stars.

I did listen to this book on audio, and thought the narrator (Sarah Zimmerman) did a very good job. She had great pacing and diction, and there were no issues following along..

🧚🏻A huge thank you goes to NetGalley, Brilliance Audio, and author Barbara O’Neal for providing me with a free audio copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

If you also loved When We Believed in Mermaids I think you’ll love this one too. It was so riveting and had a beautiful romantic storyline as well as an incredible mystery. There was a moment around 75% where I audibly said “oh shi**!” as I pieced together a very powerful revelation. I loved that moment and the feeling of understanding that accompanied it.

There were lovely artistic elements as well as some focus on meditation and spiritual awareness that made for a wonderfully centered and engaging read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Much appreciation to Brilliance Audio for the alc via Netgalley.

This novel is intriguing and beautifully written. The pace is on the slow side, and I’m not a fan of the magical elements. I enjoyed the audiobook narration.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

I love Barbara O'Neal's books, and Memories of the Lost is a mystery, a fairy tale, and a love story all bundled together. This book had more "magical" qualities than I'm used to in O'Neal's books, and I do prefer a more realistic plot, but it was still enjoyable, and I would recommend it. NOTE: I didn't care much for the narrator, so I would recommend the digital or print book over the audiobook.
