This was a perfect lite fun summer romance. I love the light heartens of this book.
Noah and Cat both grew up on the small island and Cat had a rough childhood with the loss of her parents and Noahs family was the it rich family. They were never friends and she had past issues with his family. But he returns for the summer and Cat is trying to make extra money to help with medical bills for her uncle and she does the last thing he thought she would do and takes a job working for Noah.
I love how it starts as a job and not trying to be friends to getting into a groove and how she makes his life better and easier and he does the same for her. The building of a relationship felt so natural and I became a real big fan of them and became a great summer read. def can't wait to read more!
Thank You NetGalley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
This series does not disappoint, y’all! It just keeps getting better! Kasey’s contribution, Beachy Keen, is fabulous and wonderful and I’m still swooning over it.
Cat is basically the sweetest and I love her. I love her family oriented priorities, I love her work ethic, I love her ability to accept apologies and to change her perspective. I just really love her!
And let’s be real, Noah is one heckuva swoony Moneybags. I absolutely love that he is humble enough to accept ideas, help, and suggestions from others, and that he learns to put himself out there for Cat. I loooove how much he cares about Cat (the whole “he falls first” trope might be one of my faves!) and the ways he tries to take care of her while still letting her be independent and know he isn’t trying to throw money at all her problems is just SO GOOD!
Y’all, I have been hesitant about billionaire romances in the past, because they don’t seem relatable and I don’t really want to read about spoiled rich kids. (Am I judging the genre unfairly? Possibly. But that’s where we’re at.) But Kasey has me converted. Seriously, if anyone could do if, it would be Kasey. I am all on board. Especially if the MCs can all be as amazing as Noah is.
Okay, here’s a list of things I love about this book:
He falls first (you knew that would be here!)
Nicknames
Anxiety rep
Vulnerable MCs
Honesty in communications
Mature MCs
Cat’s relationship with Otto
Mateo
The little beach cove scene
Opinions about running
Noah’s assistant wages—ha!
Jam sessions (it’s not what you think)
Blackberry picking
The scene with the rug
The ad campaign
Cat’s advice to Bree
Noah going soft with the dog
The island friendships
The family party
Nursing back to health!
Noah’s tender heart
The beach kiss!
The epilogue!
Seriously, I loved this book so much! Don’t sit on the fence with this one; just jump in with both feet. The water is fine, and the party is great! Okay, that’s a lame line. The book is much better than my lameness. Like a billion percent better. Just read it. ;)
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Narrated by Rylee Kuberra & John Rogers — This narration is so good. I love the narrators! They are perfect for the characters, and do a great job bringing the book to life. Also, it’s a duet narration, which means that even in the female POV chapters, the male narrator reads the male lines, and vice versa. I worried it might be a little weird, but I actually loved it! Basically it’s a fantastic book with a wonderful narration and I highly recommend!
**Many thanks to the author, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for the book. A positive review was neither requested nor required. All thoughts are my own.
It was cute but also felt a little toooooo cheesy and not enough depth for me. I just wanted more. It was quite slow and I was ready to be done. I love a long time crush trope but it felt a little OTT. And I was annoyed with the but he's a rich guy stuff. But still it was cute if you want a light fluffy beach/summer read. The audio was so well done. I love how the guy and girl voices did anytime a guy or girl was talking.
It’s hard to choose if I love Kasey’s romcoms or her historicals more, but I’m glad I don’t have to choose because there is no way I could! I have so much love for this billionaire, secret crush romcom.
This book is an absolute delight. I can relate to Cat so much. Especially for her love of cleaning. I also loved the mental health rep was a male. (This is the second book I’ve read recently though that had this. And I loved the perspective.) Noah struggles with anxiety and it is done well. Recognizing it’s okay and powerful to get help. I appreciated how Cat and Noah both worked on their insecurities and issues together.
There were so many funny and sweet moments. I couldn’t even begin to list them. And Noah and Cat had some great banter. I also listened to the audio of this book and the narrators were perfect.
I received an eARC from the author and a huge thank you to the publisher for the Netgalley approval for the audio. All views and opinions are my own.
Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the advance Reading Copy. This is an enjoyable summer romance that made me feel like I was on the island and beach with Cat & Noah. I enjoyed the friends to lover trope. Some of the dialogue and situations felt awkward to me as the listener so that's why it's rated 3.5 stars vs. 4.
Beachy Keen was the perfect Summer romance/beach read!
Cat & Noah have known each other since they were kids and Cat was even friends with Noah's sisters, but somewhere along the way they turned into enemies. When Cat is in financial trouble, Noah steps in to help and Cat is all but forced to accept. As their working relationship takes strides, their personal relationship does too. We all know things aren't always what they seem and as they develop their personal relationship, certain truths finally start to come to light.
Will these truths mend their past and give them the future they didn't even know they were looking for?
Getting to know Cat & Noah was like meeting new friends. I liked Noah instantly because you could just tell he was a genuinely good guy. I related to him so much with the Anxiety he deals with and I felt seen! Cat also resonated with me in the sense that she has experienced loss and is a hard worker trying to make her own way in the world!
LOVE this story! The whole series has been just delightful and so enjoyable! Noah and Cat are so so delightful to follow. Their love story was lovely with the mutual pining, the old crush that never really went away, and the tension that is palpable. The audiobook was perfect. The narrators did such a great job of bringing them to life!
I reread this via audio and adored the duet narration! I just love this book—100% worth a reread just a month after reading it the first time.
Book two in the Falling for Summer multi-author series is so stinking good! He falls first (like way back when they were kids, first), secret crush, billionaire, falling for your boss, slow burn fantasticness.
Things I Loved:
-Buttmunch Belacourt
-Scarf-ocean debacle
-Water sloshing debacle
-Uncle Otto
-All the rich nicknames
-Pinky and the Brain reference
-THAT KISS.
-Blackberries
-Rat-bird 🤣
-Plaza tour
-Caretaking while sick
-Secret room ♥️
-The whole ending!
So much delicious tension, hilarious banter, some deep themes, and the best summer vibes. I just loved this whole story!
These stories are interconnected while remaining standalone. The connections are so fun, it has me wanting every single book to come!
Trigger Warnings:
Past—close relative with cancer, parental loss in accident, & bullying.
Current—parents divorcing, MMC dealing with anxiety.
All handled with care and maintains a romcom vibe while adding great depth. ♥️
Props to all the authors who collaborated to make a series interwoven but all written separately!
I wanted to like this but it was just okay. I did like the mental health representation but really struggled to get over the resolution?
There was minimal- if any- tension between Cat and Noah. Their constant miscommunication or lack of communication was frustrating and the characters felt flat to me. Noah was such a weird character. He struggles from anxiety but the way he talked about his body was cringy. And Cat just kept repeating the same problems throughout the entire book? I’m still not sure why she hated him outside of his sister being her bully. And how did she get bullied so bad that he didn’t even notice???
The writing felt a little all over the place. Some parts I felt like it was fine like it was in the moment and others felt like I was being retold a story after it had happened (weird dialogue).
The audiobook for Beachy Keen by Kasey Stockton is the ultimate summer escape! This book has everything you want in a beach read! With amazing narrators, a charming setting, a hottie billionaire, and an unexpected romance, this book has it all!
Noah’s adorable crush on Cat makes this book irresistible, and their chemistry is off the charts, but will bad blood between Cat and Noah’s sister be too difficult to overcome?
With delightful scenes, like sandcastle building and blackberry picking, strong family bonds, and working to overcome personal struggles, Beachy Keen is a heartwarming read that will keep you smiling from start to finish!
#huge that you to #netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the audiobook copy!
This book hit so many of my favourite tropes. I'm a sucker for a small town x billionaire combo. It's one of my favourite trope combinations. Make it a beachy small town and a boss x assistant dynamic and I'm done for.
Cat is a strong and independent boss woman. Her character arc demonstrates her growth of accepting help while still holding onto your morals when the easy route is dangled in front of you. She was an entertaining and relatable character doing what she can to get by and support her uncle while running a B&B and working as a billionaire's assistant.
Noah was such a sweetheart. He gave me the warm fuzzies that made me want to just give him a hug. He was overworked and needed a break and found himself distracted by the woman he hired as his new assistant while he's away from work for a forced mental health leave.
I will ALWAYS be a fan of duet narration. I think more people would be audiobook lovers if more audiobooks were performed in duet. I recognize it's likely more expensive, but my gosh its such a pleasure to listen to. Both of the narrators did a great job of keeping me engaged and interested while bringing all the characters to life with their dynamic performance.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the advanced listener copy.
This was one of the audiobook that i thoroughly enjoyed a lot as the characters were well penned and so was the plotline.
The characters were well drafted and penned down in such a charming way that they had my heart from the starting till the very end of the book. The plotline was well paced and written in a very simple and easy narration that listing to this audiobook was fun and quick. I am definitely going to read rest of the works of this author.
Kasey Stockton has quickly become one of my auto read authors. I have loved every book I’ve read from her. The romance regardless of the genre is swoony and perfect every time. I have yet to be disappointed by her and honestly, doubt I ever will be. Her latest, Beachy Keen, is a prime example of this.
Noah and Cat are the cutest couple. The way their relationship developed throughout the book was perfection. It wasn’t rushed and felt like a normal growing relationship. They both have things that they need to overcome, and I loved that the other was aware of those things. Noah was the absolute sweetest and so patient with Cat. Cat is headstrong but also understanding of Noah and his needs.
This summer read is going down as one of my favorites! I absolutely loved every minute I spent with this book. I couldn’t wait to go back to Sunset Harbor when I had to put it down. It came to life on page one, and had me feeling all the feels. I loved it so much that I have already listened to the audio book, which was just as fantastic as reading it the first time. The narration was superb with dual narrators.
“Beachy Keen” is a part of the Falling for Summer series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I’ve heard the rest of the series is amazing. I have plans to read the rest soon, and I will definitely be rereading this one!
Thank you to the author for a gifted copy.
This was a fun summer read! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. The themes around trustworthiness and forgiveness were really well done and added some depth to the story! Noah is the sweetest and was trying so hard to be professional! It was cute to watch him struggle. His family is definitely unique but it seems like some of them are redeeming themselves. I am interested to see which characters the other books in this "series" follow. I don't know if I will read all of them, but I might eventually! Overall, I enjoyed this book and the narrators were great too! Love a duet narration and dual POV book!
This book was a delight! I loved how fun it was while still being clean. I think clean romance gets a "boring" label often and this one wasn't boring at all! I loved our characters and their struggles felt real and I was rooting for them the whole time!
I aboslutely loved Beachy Keen. It was fast paced, clean, fun and had all the beach vibes that I want added to my summer days.
This one is such a great summer read! I honestly love how smitten he was with her and how they both wanted to settle down with a family- so wholesome! His struggles with anxiety felt relatable, as did her struggles with grief and childhood bullying.
🌀Synopsis
Cat needs money quickly. Her life is going great until she finds a medical bill that is overdue, by a lot! Her uncle, the one who raised her, battled cancer and beat it. It came at a cost, apparently, and now their business is at risk. Not able to face the reality of leaving their island, Cat takes a job she needs but doesn’t want working for Noah- the rich and famous.
Noah has been exiled to the island to recover from some crippling anxiety. He’s had a crush on Cat since he was a kid and is desperate to help her out. He hires her as an assistant but immediately finds himself attracted to her again. He’s keeping his secrets though, not wanting to let her in on his drama or his family’s.
When Cat and her uncle come together to discuss the hills she realizes she can quit working for Noah and she does. Noah doesn’t let her go and uses the opening as the perfect opportunity to date her since she is no longer his employee.
I have thought long and hard on how to rate and ultimately I figured honesty is best. I just couldn’t get into this story. The main character was a bit whiny and unforgiving and a little on the wishy washy side. I wanted to like this as I’m a fan of the author, but this one wasn’t for me. Thank you for the chance to review.
I was sunk when the character were “saving” each other from the beginning! This audiobook was amazing! I love the dual narration and these voices were perfect! Enjoy!!
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this story! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ALC Review
This fun, adorable and romantic summer read is part of the Falling for Summer series. The series takes place in Sunset Harbor and each book features different residents of the small town island. The characters appear throughout the series, but each book can be read as a standalone. It is such a fun and unique series due to it being written by multiple authors and it takes a “connected series” to a whole new level of fabulous!
In this read our main characters Cat Keen and Noah Belacourt have a history and are brought together again through a comical accident.
The narrators for this audio book are Rylee Kuberra who reads the role of Cat Keen and John Roger’s who reads Noah Belacourt. Each narrator did a great job and I enjoyed the dual narration, it added good depth and made the characters feel real. Things to enjoy:
👙 Forced proximity
🩳 Billionaire romance
👙 Opposites attract
🩳 Secret crush
👙 Sweet summer romance/romcom
🩳 Mental health representation
