I selected this book for my 2nd grade son to read - he is just getting into chapter books and he loves baseball so this was the perfect book to help read with him!
Thank you to NetGalley, the Publisher and the author, Matt Christopher, for the Advanced Reading Copy of the Dog That Pitched a No-Hitter!
This was definitely a cute one and one that I would recommend to my friends for their children. The messages were clear and put in a way kids can understand.
While I couldn't really relate to a lot of the baseball talk in this book, I definitely think that this will be a *hit* among young kids that are into baseball. The whole story was definitely super fun to read and the ending was unexpected, but still very clever. The illustrations looked a bit odd to me personally due to the fact that they were done in black and white, but I think that for the most part the drawings added to the story well. Kudos to the illustrator for drawing Harry the Airedale so well!
Overall, this was a fun story for kids that can read on their own and are likely into baseball! Good job!
