4.5⭐️ (rounded up) What a finale to this amazing series. All the breadcrumbs left from the first moment truly come together in this book. I truly love the full circle moments this book created. It highlights how far all of these characters have come. Lor, is an amazing FMC, she is strong and fierce and loyal. She loves hard and takes no prisoners. It is fantastic to watch her grow and truly come into her own power with the love and support of her amazing family (blood and found) and I adore how Nadir supports his Queen. The ending of this series is bittersweet as I will wholehearted miss this world and characters, but it was also a perfect ending.

What an incredible ending to an amazing series—this one’s an easy 5 stars for me! The story was fast-paced and action-packed, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next.
It’s been such a fun journey watching Lor navigate all her struggles and challenges. I absolutely loved the romance between her and Nadir, and I’m so happy they got their happy ending. The side characters were just as interesting—Tristan and Bronte especially had me curious! I really hope Nisha J. Tuli writes some spin-offs so we can dive deeper into their stories.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for gifting me this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
A fun conclusion to a wild ride. All said and done, these characters really went through the wringer. Aside from all of the past vignettes showing us a complex history full of complicated individuals with likely too much power and not enough empathy at their disposal, the main events of the plot for our MCs takes place over the course of less than a year.
This was a marathon that did not let up in the slightest, and until the very end, it felt like our main characters hadn’t had a chance to breathe since the second half of the last book.
What I think I like best about this series is that every character, hero or villain alike, has their damage, their flaws, and some heaviness that will ultimately weigh on their scales. And that’s real. None of these characters are perfect and it’s all about where on the scale they fall.
About 80% of the way through, I wondered how all of the open plot points would manage to get wrapped up, but it did all come together and with some poetically cyclical callbacks.
And especially in the current climate, we need more MMCs like Nadir who aren’t only unafraid of the power of women, but who bolster them up even higher.
A great story that ultimately comes down to knowing what is actually important, and not allowing anything to get in the way of attaining it.
My only detractor may be that I think a couple of set up points were abandoned in favor of new conflicts brought up in this final book. Didn’t stop me from enjoying at all, but did feel like it undid a little of the work of earlier books.
Still very much a resounding 4 stars.
Tale of the Heart Queen is a heart pounding and exciting end to this fantastic series.
Lor has made the biggest mistake of her life, and now she will risk everything to fix it. Faced with impossible odds, Lor finds herself traversing the realm in search of magical arcs. She needs allies if she wants to defeat Zerra and take her rightful place as the Queen of Heart. Between the Evanescence and the Underworld, Lor will face challenges she never anticipated. With her friends and her family by her side, can she rise as the queen she was always meant to be?
This book was absolutely amazing - incredible - wonderful! I can't say enough about this series, and this final book really brought everything together in a beautiful and satisfying ending. This series is so easy to get into, and it hooked me from the very first line, to the last. I think this final book had so much going on - plot lines to wrap up, more reveals and mysteries to unravel, and relationships that I needed to see through, and Nisha delivered. We have multiple POVs in this book which kept me engaged, and helped me as a reader see what was happening in different locations as our main characters moved around. One of the POV's was surprising in how much it moved me as a reader. We see more of the different rulers of Ouranos in this book, and begin to understand the hold that Zerra had on the realm. Or heroes aren't perfect, and the villains aren't entirely bad, and I think this is one of the strengths of this series - every character is flawed and real. I adored this book so much, and Tale of the Heart Queen has cemented this series as a favorite of mine.
Thank you so, so much to NetGalley and Forever - Grand Central Publishing for the advanced copy of this wonderful book. All opinions are my own.
This was the type of ending to a series that I always hope for when I’m intrigued by a series from the first few books. I’ve been fascinated with how Laura has had to change throughout her journey. Once again, she is fighting for everyone, but the battle that is coming and comes is not Against who we initially thought. I’ve really come to love all the characters in this series and I’ve enjoyed their journeys throughout. The ending of this book feels like such a satisfying ending to the series and I cannot recommend the series enough to people.
Tale of the Heart Queen by Nisha J. Tuli delivers a stunning conclusion to an epic series. Picking up right where the previous book ended, this over 700 page final instalment is packed with action, emotional depth, and heartfelt moments. Lor’s journey is full of growth, humor, and determination as she fights for freedom and the fate of her world.
While the pacing varied—sometimes slow, other times racing—it all tied together beautifully in the end. The characters’ relationships, whether friendships or romances, were deeply developed and satisfying. Lor’s inner monologue had me laughing, and the callbacks to earlier books, like the trial setting, gave the story a full-circle feel.
Though the book could have been split into two for more breathing room, it still delivered high stakes, unexpected twists, and a powerful conclusion.
This series finale left me completely fulfilled for that happy ever after even if not the usual one.
Very grateful to the publisher for this copy, opinions are my own.
What an explosive conclusion to this series! So much happened that it’s hard to believe it was only one book. We get to meet more of the rulers of the different countries in Ouranos in this one and we also live through the fallout of Gabriel’s reveal of Atlas’s betrayal. I was hooked every minute and can’t believe it’s come to an end.
I flew through the first three books in this series and was so excited to see how it all wrapped up in Tale of the Heart Queen, but I have to admit, I’m a bit let down. While I was hoping for an epic, satisfying conclusion, the story felt like it dragged in places and was longer than it needed to be.
There were also some plot points that came out of nowhere and didn’t really feel necessary, which pulled me out of the story at times. That said, I still love Nisha J. Tuli’s world-building and the intensity of Lor’s journey. It’s worth finishing if you’ve come this far, but I wish it had been a tighter, more focused finale.
I am emotional!
What a perfect ending to a wonderful series. Nisha J Tuli knocks it out of the park again with this one. Rhys ending was everything I wanted and more. I was cheering, panicked, crying, laughing, and blushing all in the span of an hour! If you’re reading this review— go start this series! Put it on your ten before the end reading list or your 2025 tbr.
Tale of the Heart Queen wraps up everyone’s stories beautifully. The book starts immediately where the last book is left off, and it’s nonstop action for the next 750+ pages.
There was a ton going on, and sometimes it was hard to follow all the plot points that were being tied together at the end. It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book, but there was probably 2 books worth of material crammed into 1, and this is one of the rare times I’d actually wish there was another book in the series! The pacing felt slow in some parts, and in other parts it felt like we were moving at 100 mph.
That being said, once everything started tying together, everything fell into place quickly and just ~ made sense ~. I loved all of the different POVs, and thought one in particular had the perfect end.
And it might just be me, but I think Lor’s inner monologue was even funnier in this book? I want to be her bestie. She was hilarious.
Overall I’m sad to leave this world, but it was a perfect ending to the series, and I cannot wait to reread it!

From start to finish, this book (and the entire series) had me completely invested in the characters' journey. Their relationship, growth, and the way their stories unfolded kept me invested, and by the end, I was both teary-eyed and completely satisfied with how everything concluded.
I won’t lie—there were several moments that had me in tears. But despite the tears, I always felt that these emotional moments served the story in a meaningful way. Nisha also ensured that she kept us satisfied with just right amount of spice interwoven into the plot.
What really made the book work for me, though, was the ending. It was exactly what Lor and Nadir needed. Their journey was one of growth, pain, and self-discovery, and the way their story came to a close felt both earned and deeply satisfying.
I am sad to see Lor and Nadir's story end, but I am looking forward to reading more from Nisha!
This finale though.... PHew
Lor and Nadir have A LOT to do. There is so much to accomplish and so little time. Plus all of their friends (and enemies) have so much to accomplish as well. This finale was just excellent, I thoroughly enjoyed it and had trouble setting it down (who needs to work right?)
I really really liked this book. To the point it makes me want to critique the first three for not being on this level! I was nervous when I saw a 700 page end for this series, but they were some of the most effective 700 pages I could have hoped for. This had some of the highest of stakes and some real pearl-clutching moments.
There was a lot of spice, but it was all good spice. I loved the revisit to a trial setting because it felt very full-circle from book 1. I also really appreciated the development of all relationships throughout this, friendships and otherwise. I think literally every single loose end got tied, and I'm grateful for that.
My one major criticism is that this could have been split into another book (or redistribute partially into book 3) because there was so much to cover it ended up getting a little tell instead of show. It wasn't awful, but it was noticeable compared to the other books in the series. Secondary smaller criticism: I do wish we'd gotten an epilogue several years later so we could have had more of Lor as queen and more of Hshowing.
Overall this was a near-perfect end for this series, and I will greatly miss it.
(4.5 stars on Storygraph)
I'm going to miss this series so much, but it absolutely sticks the ending and concludes all of the plot lines and characters well. I feel so fortunate to have been on this journey with Lor ❤️ The plot moved along well, Lor is her sassiest and most badass self, and Nadir has cemented himself as a god-tier MMC and I loved his plot and goals in this book. I've recommended this series to so many people who have adored it, and I have no plans to stop! Thank you so much for the ARC!
4.5⭐️
This is a long book and I absolutely devoured it within a day. I am SO SAD that this series is over but I can’t imagine a better conclusion. There were twists and turns that I absolutely did not see coming. I am not afraid to admit that I did cry at the end. This was such an epic series with such a wide cast of characters who I grew to love so much. The call back to the soap at the end was hilarious yet sentimental and only worsened the blubbering mess I was.
Thank you so much to Nisha for giving us this world, for being so inclusive with your writing, and for addressing issues of inequality in a subtle yet powerful way.
This series is definitely one of my favorites!
Thank you so much to Forever and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
The way I devoured The Artefacts of Ouranous series earlier this year, I knew that Tale of the Heart Queen would be no different, especially with the cliffhanger at the end of Fate of the Sun King.
I absolutely loved experiencing the end of Lor’s story. Her journey from “That bitch stole my soap,” to Heart Queen is one of the most satisfying character arcs I’ve ever read. Nisha does a wonderful a job of balancing Lor’s journey with the multiple story lines happening throughout Tale of the Heart Queen. The interweaving of these story lines provides resolutions for several unanswered questions from earlier in the series. I appreciate Nisha’s attention to detail and not leaving her audience hanging when it comes to these important plot points.
The Artefacts of Ouranous series is a fast paced series driven by character desires and the fate that awaits them all. Tale of the Heart Queen is a gratifying conclusion to the series with Nisha J. Tuli honoring her characters with beautiful endings that honor their stories.
This book is everything I wanted and more to finish the series up!! I was SO nervous heading into this one with the cliffhanger that we were left with at the end of Fate of the Sun King. There were so many things that I wanted to happen and so many loose ends to tie up and oh my goodness did she DELIVER! I am very sad to say goodbye to this series, but it was the absolute best conclusion.
There is something so beautiful about a story that really comes full circle, with a perfect ending for all the characters we love and all the characters we love to hate!
For Lor, Nadir, Gabriel, and all their allies and friends, it’s the final countdown. They have to pick up the pieces, come back together, and take down the Aurora King and undo the course of the ruin of magic, should be easy right? Maybe for our intrepid team, it is!! But not without hard decisions and strife, surrounded by love and careful planning!!
I cannot even imagine a world where this story wasn’t wrapped up as perfectly as it was. Characters got what they deserved (for better or worse), we got to see Lor truly embrace her fate (again, for better or worse), and learn all the missing pieces of history about the artefacts and arks! The story was well-paced, emotional, and just truly amazing. Thank you Nisha for this incredible, moving, and entertaining series!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley for a chance to read this in exchange for an honest review!
It all started with “That bitch took my soap.” And what a journey it has been!
This was such an emotional read for me because I have become so attached to Lor and Nadir and I wasn’t prepared to say goodbye.
Nisha has done an amazing job with this series. Not only is it a great romantasy, but it’s filled with unexpected twists and turns, fantastic world building that just gets better and better with each book, and amazing side characters.
I think it’s incredibly hard to wrap up so many plot lines and loose ends in a story of this magnitude, but I was actually very satisfied with where it ended. We got to see a little bit more backstory on some of the other characters, which I enjoyed. And of course there’s romance and heartbreak and all the other things we’ve come to enjoy from this series.
It’s definitely one that you don’t want to miss out on reading.
I am so incredibly grateful for Forever publishing and NetGalley for approving me for an early copy of this book.
I started this series not knowing what to expect and I was quickly sucked in. Lor is such an amazing FMC. The world building wasn’t overly complicated but enough to really spark my imagination and the characters were dynamic. I’m honestly so sad to see this series end. It truly was an amazing ride.
