This has been one of my favorite series this year. I devoured books 1-3 and was eagerly awaiting book 4. I am sad to see this series come to an end because Lor has gone through so much and she only got better with each book. An once thorn in her side, Nadir became the mate and partner she needed and deserved. True enemies in the beginning who transformed into a couple worth rooting for.

Lor and Nadir were finally on the same page which helped in their relationship growth because it has been an uphill battle for so long. You have to pay attention to detail as this book is the thickest of the 4 books in the series which contains multiple POVs and timelines. This book will give her some backstories that help answer the questions of why things are happening the way they are as well as a good dose of plot twists, adventures, romance and spice.

This series was a rollercoaster of emotions, and we see Lor go from a nobody to a champion of her people. If you are looking for a series full of tension, angst, trials. manipulation, betrayal, adventure, spice, romance and unwavering love this is a series to read.

I was so so excited about finishing this series - LOVED the first three books - but this one sadly fell a little flat for me. It felt a little overwhelming at some points of the story with how many things were going on and all the different plot lines. The second half of the book (going to avoid spoilers) felt like a totally different story.

Things I enjoyed:
- Gabriel's story line! I loved reading his POV chapters and felt like he had a great story arc
- Lor and Nishan staying true to their characters. I find often times authors feel like something always has to be HAPPENING with the main characters and sometimes that leads to them doing things that stray from their character. I really feel like these two were doing things / saying things that made sense for them and their relationship.
- Connections between secondary characters - I don't feel like any characters were forgotten about or left behind!

Things I didn't like:
- RION'S CHARACTER ARC. For some reason it didn't seem very believable to me??
- Too much going on. At one point in the book it felt like they had a million things to accomplish
- Easy solutions. A few "it just so happens!!" moments that felt a little too easy. I'm specifically thinking of a certain character not knowing two characters were mates...

Overall I would absolutely recommend this series, however I wish I loved the last book as much as I did the others.

A big thank you for the ARC! :)

This is the 4th and final book of the Artefacts of the Ouranos series, and I think it did a great job at tying everything together. It was the perfect ending to a series, and I’m so sad it’s over.

I will say the only critique I have for this book is that I felt like the plot kind of went all over the place. Part of that is probably due to having to tie all the loose ends together. Other than that I thought it was perfect

I recommend this series to anyone who loves romantasy!

Thank you to Net Galley and Forever Publishing for the ARC

First I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I was super excited when I received a notification with the eARC for the final book in this series, especially after the ending of book 3 ( still not over that plot twist).

This was a solid book, as always Nisha J.Tuli knows how to write a multiple POV story so eloquently without making it confusing for the reader. AND AS ALWAYS, I love all the side characters, new and old, they have just grown on me so much. They're all fully fleshed out and truly feel necessary to the story. (expect for maybe the empryium, who I honestly thought would play a bigger role in this book?)

With all the information and side plots that have been introduced over this series, I definitely expected it to be a hard job to tie it all together for the finale, however I had high hopes. I won't say I was fully disappointed, seeing as I gave this book a 4 star rating, but I will say I expected more. After everything Lor went through it just felt like the resolution came way too quickly and perfectly at the end. Some of the plot twists and the direction this book suddenly veered into, in an abrupt attempt to wrap the series up, definitely made me pause for a second.
Moreover, I usually prefer a more open ended finish with fantasy books, but there was a lottt of telling and not showing this time around with an epilogue that draggeddd on.

Overall, I definitely would still recommend this series, it's been one of my favorite romantasy series as of late in terms of the characters, their development and the world building. However, I predict the ending will definitely cause a few head scratches.

I’ve loved the world Tuli has created in The Artefacts of Ouranos series. From the beginning, the characters were richly developed and the world intriguing. Over the course of the series, multiple characters have a chance to shine and become more than just side characters or fillers, and the world continues to build, not to mention, the romance! There has been such a build up to Lor’s arc over the past three books, and Tale of the Heaty Queen was a satisfying and, at times, nerve inducing, end to Lor’s story.

While there were a few plot points that felt a bit out of left field, and sometimes too convoluted, Tuli managed to tie things up satisfactorily. I really wish we’d gotten more of Gabriel! What we did get was intensely emotional and well done, but I just wanted more of his story!

Lor really goes through it in this book. The first part of the book is chaotic and emotional and fits well with Lor’s current struggle. Things slow down a bit, and more world lore is introduced, and some additional character POVs that felt unnecessary at times. I do like the idea of getting this specific character’s viewpoint, but at the end of the day, I just wanted Lor, Nadir, and Gabriel. I did hit a bit of a slump around the 40% mark, and started skimming the spice scenes because I wanted more of the other characters, the world lore, and action. I managed to push through that and ended up making myself slow down when I got the last 25% because I didn’t want it to end! 😂

Overall, this was a great ending to a great series and I look forward to what Tuli has in store for us next! 👑

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the complimentary arc. All opinions are my own.

4.5 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 💫

“I will fight until I’m nothing but a pile of dust…”

Tale of the Heart Queen is the fourth and final installment of the adult fantasy romance series, Artefacts of Ouranos. Written in first person POV, the story follows multiple characters' journeys but with a focus on Lor after she makes the biggest mistake of her life and is now on the run. When a new enemy rises amidst the chaos, Lor must do whatever it takes to locate the arcs and save her loved ones...but in the back of her mind fear of making the same mistakes as her grandmother haunts her. Lor wants to be free, free to love, free to live, free to finally enjoy the happiness she has in her grasp...but to do so she may have to enter the depth of the underworld and risk everything on a destiny she doesn't want.

Oh boy does this book have you on a JOURNEY.

Lor has a huge amount of responsibility on her shoulders and everything is on the line. I loved seeing her fierceness and her ability to find her way through every situation. She is weathered but her values are at her core and she refuses to give them up. Her journey has been one that has ripped through me and seeing it come full circle was an absolute pleasure.

With the way the cliffhanger of book 3 hit I don't want to spoil too much but suffice to say we have an amazing cast of additional POVs that helped open this world out. I really enjoyed how we had them explore far and wide, good and bad, as it allowed us to really see the world in all its shades of grey. I felt so many emotions as we moved through them and I felt so connected to the book as a result. You are in for a treat!

This book does contain spice. I would say 2 spicy peppers out of 5 spicy peppers. Spice is more from the midpoint of the book and there are a few scenes. I liked how it helped cement the connection between the characters and helped punctuate those moments of tension. Nisha has a talent for passionate spice and these scenes were perfect. The romance of these characters is just powerful and to see how much they are a partnership tugged on my heart strings. They truly work together and support each other and I could not get enough.

“I love you…Tomorrow, I will lay down my life, my crown, and my heart, and I will be yours forever.”

The story itself has built up so much. Lor is stuck in a sticky situation initially and must do whatever it takes to save her loved ones…including betraying others. In addition the Aurora King's plans are closing in on everyone amidst court intrigue across the realm and the chaos left in the Sun King's territory. Throw in a tricky god, a fear of the past, and a destiny Lor does not want and this book will keep you on your toes. There is balance to the events, the pace was smooth, and I felt everything was timed well. No punches are held and this makes the moments of intimacy oh so perfect. I just didn't want it to end...but the ending was sooo good!

I love this series and the book delivered. If you want an epic fantasy journey where a female protagonist truly rises and takes it all this will give you everything!

Thank you Hachette and Forever Reads for this arc!

After such an intense cliffhanger in the previous book, I was really unsure how the situation would resolve itself. I didn’t want to see Lor make an ultimate sacrifice and give up her own happy ending for a happy ending for all people of Ouranos (I don’t know about you but I do NOT read romance / romantasy for the greater good). But the author notes at the beginning promised a happy ending, so I trusted that and was not disappointed. I really enjoyed Tale of the Heart Queen as the final installment, even though I would have followed Lor’s story forever.

I can’t believe we have come to the end of Lor and Nadir’s journey and it makes me sad that there will be no more. However, with that being said, there was a lot of loose ends to tidy up after the third book and I’m happy we got the closure that we all needed. This was probably the spiciest book of the series and you will get no complaints from me as the spice added to the story line. These main characters went from “I’m going to kill you!”at the start of the series to “I can’t live without you “ by the end. So, it was satisfying to have that full circle moment. Also, it was nice to finally see these much loved characters grow and get the happiness they deserve. Overall, this was a really good series and I enjoyed the ride.

An incredible ending to an incredible series. Honestly, I feel so empty now that it's over.

I loved seeing Lor's growth in this final book, We've seen her travel everywhere throughout Ouranos and for her to finally return home made me cry.

5 stars, no notes

After a very long journey its over! Thanks, netgalley and forever for this eArc!

We find Lor moments after the tragic cliffhanger end of thr last book, scrabbling with her decisions and fighting for her life, when she is suddenly absorbed into the evansence and sent on a subsequent mission by zerra in order to sace the one she loves. So now, she has a king to kill, and man to save, a throne to ascend to, and all the magical Arcs to destroy, all while a unto now unrealized opponent has been manipulating the events of her life is getting ready to show their hand.

Throughout reading this series, i have felt like the growing complexity and challenges added to the story and helped flesh out characters and their pasts better with every book. With this last book though, i felt like we were swinging for the fences, without a great payoff. Mainly with the zerra and nadir stuff, which im not going to greatly elaborate on but like. No. Just no. The alive dead alive and horny pipeline was too much for me. Throughout the plot the action, for me, was very sporadic and it made the process of reading a less of a joy- it has been 5 months since i read the last book and i found myself having forgotten some plot points and many characters so it may be on me and these are better consumed in short order but it was frustrating to literally go back and look up reminders when some action was finally happening in this book. At literally thr 80% mark i was like HOW ARE WE RESOLVING THIS SUPER LONG AND COMPLICATED PROBLEM IN THE LAST 150 PAGES!? and the answer to that was not really to my satisfaction.

So this was a 3. I am a little sad it didnt live up, in my mind, to the momentum that the last 2 books built. Not a bad series, but i wanted more.

Thank you to the Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing me with a review copy of Tale of the Heart Queen (Artefacts of Ouranos #4) by Nisha J. Tuli in exchange for writing an honest review and promoting the novel.

Tale of the Heart Queen, the fourth and final book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series, picks up where the third book left off. Lor is on the run from the Aurora King. Lor is faced with the reality that she must save the continent. In the novel, Lor is trying to fight for Nadir yet attempting to avoid the same mistakes her grandmother made as she vies for the crown.

Tale of the Heart Queen is an incredible read filled with twists and turns. It is absolutely a book you can consume in one sitting and is filled with political intrigue and adventure. It was a wonderful wrap up to the series and I cannot wait to see what Nisha writes in the future!

Tale of the Heart Queen is the fourth and final book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series. Let me tell you, this book is jam packed. There’s so much that needed to happen to wrap up this series to the degree it deserved and Tuli nailed it. I enjoyed the different POVs that we get throughout the story as it helped pull all of the storylines together. I even appreciated the POVs from one character that I was sure I wouldn’t want to read. It added richness and depth to the story including character motivations. I felt the plot was well paced between political drama, action, twists, and revelations. I absolutely love the dynamic between Lor and Nadir, especially how Nadir makes sure to always support Lor rather than deciding what he thinks is best for her. This series also has some of the best found family and supporting characters. I also felt the ending for this story was the perfect way to resolve the series. Overall, I can’t recommend this series and Tuli’s writing enough.

What a beautiful ending to an amazing series! The story was fast-paced and action-packed, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next.

It’s been such an exciting journey, seeing how Lor overcomes all her struggles and challenges and how Nadir was always there for her. I loved the romance between Lor and Nadir, and I’m so happy they got their happy ending after everything they have been through. I also enjoyed reading about the side characters and learning a bit about them.
Overall I really enjoyed this series, eagerly waiting for what Nisha has in store next! 😃

4.5⭐️ (rounded up) What a finale to this amazing series. All the breadcrumbs left from the first moment truly come together in this book. I truly love the full circle moments this book created. It highlights how far all of these characters have come. Lor, is an amazing FMC, she is strong and fierce and loyal. She loves hard and takes no prisoners. It is fantastic to watch her grow and truly come into her own power with the love and support of her amazing family (blood and found) and I adore how Nadir supports his Queen. The ending of this series is bittersweet as I will wholehearted miss this world and characters, but it was also a perfect ending.

Highlights:
✨Multiple POV
✨Who did this to you
✨Meddling Gods
✨REDEMPTION
✨Fated Mates

Favorite Quotes: “Everyone has always underestimated me . . . That mistake ks about to cost you everything because I. Am. The f***g Heart Queen.”

What an incredible ending to an amazing series—this one’s an easy 5 stars for me! The story was fast-paced and action-packed, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next.

It’s been such a fun journey watching Lor navigate all her struggles and challenges. I absolutely loved the romance between her and Nadir, and I’m so happy they got their happy ending. The side characters were just as interesting—Tristan and Bronte especially had me curious! I really hope Nisha J. Tuli writes some spin-offs so we can dive deeper into their stories.

A fun conclusion to a wild ride. All said and done, these characters really went through the wringer. Aside from all of the past vignettes showing us a complex history full of complicated individuals with likely too much power and not enough empathy at their disposal, the main events of the plot for our MCs takes place over the course of less than a year.

This was a marathon that did not let up in the slightest, and until the very end, it felt like our main characters hadn’t had a chance to breathe since the second half of the last book.

What I think I like best about this series is that every character, hero or villain alike, has their damage, their flaws, and some heaviness that will ultimately weigh on their scales. And that’s real. None of these characters are perfect and it’s all about where on the scale they fall.

About 80% of the way through, I wondered how all of the open plot points would manage to get wrapped up, but it did all come together and with some poetically cyclical callbacks.

And especially in the current climate, we need more MMCs like Nadir who aren’t only unafraid of the power of women, but who bolster them up even higher.

A great story that ultimately comes down to knowing what is actually important, and not allowing anything to get in the way of attaining it.

My only detractor may be that I think a couple of set up points were abandoned in favor of new conflicts brought up in this final book. Didn’t stop me from enjoying at all, but did feel like it undid a little of the work of earlier books.

Still very much a resounding 4 stars.

Tale of the Heart Queen is a heart pounding and exciting end to this fantastic series.

Lor has made the biggest mistake of her life, and now she will risk everything to fix it. Faced with impossible odds, Lor finds herself traversing the realm in search of magical arcs. She needs allies if she wants to defeat Zerra and take her rightful place as the Queen of Heart. Between the Evanescence and the Underworld, Lor will face challenges she never anticipated. With her friends and her family by her side, can she rise as the queen she was always meant to be?

This book was absolutely amazing - incredible - wonderful! I can't say enough about this series, and this final book really brought everything together in a beautiful and satisfying ending. This series is so easy to get into, and it hooked me from the very first line, to the last. I think this final book had so much going on - plot lines to wrap up, more reveals and mysteries to unravel, and relationships that I needed to see through, and Nisha delivered. We have multiple POVs in this book which kept me engaged, and helped me as a reader see what was happening in different locations as our main characters moved around. One of the POV's was surprising in how much it moved me as a reader. We see more of the different rulers of Ouranos in this book, and begin to understand the hold that Zerra had on the realm. Or heroes aren't perfect, and the villains aren't entirely bad, and I think this is one of the strengths of this series - every character is flawed and real. I adored this book so much, and Tale of the Heart Queen has cemented this series as a favorite of mine.

Thank you so, so much to NetGalley and Forever - Grand Central Publishing for the advanced copy of this wonderful book. All opinions are my own.

This was the type of ending to a series that I always hope for when I’m intrigued by a series from the first few books. I’ve been fascinated with how Laura has had to change throughout her journey. Once again, she is fighting for everyone, but the battle that is coming and comes is not Against who we initially thought. I’ve really come to love all the characters in this series and I’ve enjoyed their journeys throughout. The ending of this book feels like such a satisfying ending to the series and I cannot recommend the series enough to people.

Tale of the Heart Queen by Nisha J. Tuli delivers a stunning conclusion to an epic series. Picking up right where the previous book ended, this over 700 page final instalment is packed with action, emotional depth, and heartfelt moments. Lor’s journey is full of growth, humor, and determination as she fights for freedom and the fate of her world.
While the pacing varied—sometimes slow, other times racing—it all tied together beautifully in the end. The characters’ relationships, whether friendships or romances, were deeply developed and satisfying. Lor’s inner monologue had me laughing, and the callbacks to earlier books, like the trial setting, gave the story a full-circle feel.
Though the book could have been split into two for more breathing room, it still delivered high stakes, unexpected twists, and a powerful conclusion.
This series finale left me completely fulfilled for that happy ever after even if not the usual one.
Very grateful to the publisher for this copy, opinions are my own.

What an explosive conclusion to this series! So much happened that it’s hard to believe it was only one book. We get to meet more of the rulers of the different countries in Ouranos in this one and we also live through the fallout of Gabriel’s reveal of Atlas’s betrayal. I was hooked every minute and can’t believe it’s come to an end.
