Loved it! A is for the Apollo Theater to F for FDNY to M for Museums to Z for Zabar's groceries and all
in between. Each letter is complete with simple illustrations in this fun alphabet book.
The illustrations by Volha Kaliaha are clear, colorful, and fun!
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Familius via NetGalley. Thank you!

I love good alphabet books, and this is such a cool idea. Instead of using common words, this little ABC book picks words that are very specific to New York City. This is a fun book because of the bright pictures, and also because you can really learn about NYC while reading it and talking about it with your kids. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

Very cute alphabet book featuring sights in New York City. This is simple to read and the illustrations are easy to recognize. This would be a great book if you have a small child in NYC or if you are planning to visit the Big Apple. Most are sites or parts of the city that I’ve seen while being a tourist there. A couple, I didn’t think fit like, D is for Derek Jeter. He is retired, not available to be seen and it will date the book. Otherwise this is a fun read. It is a board book and so is sturdy for preschoolers and younger.

Oberman’s alphabet book featuring NYC is very cute(as is her counting book, Let’s Count NYC). See 26 iconic NYC sights/sites while learning the alphabet with your little one. NY natives will recognize all of these and maybe those from away will start a wish list of places to see.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Familius for this title. All opinions are my own.

This book is so New York City and I want a bagel now. I think it will be a great read, especially for a NYC baby because it really is about the city and it shows the love for it. It's definitely unique and fun.

Similarly as with the counting one, this really is a very NY book and probably wouldn't recommend to anyone outside of NY - children of the age who will be learning the alphabet or there numbers will be a bit bemused by some of the references although its enjoyable as an adult, they didn’t understand what many of the things were so didn’t enjoy it although we all like the pictures.

A fun and vibrant book taking kids on a tour of New York! This book is very engaging because it both teaches kids their letters and also encourages them to learn about NYC and their surroundings. I liked the way each letter was matched to a staple of the city and the art is colourful and cute

A perfect addition to any board book collection, but especially a board book collection serving those who want to share their love of the City with their youngest readers. The images are bright and clean, with each letter depicting an iconic moment or place in New York City. Although focused more on Brooklyn and Manhattan, this book holds images that will speak to every New Yorker and to every family visiting the city ready for a treasure hunt of NYC's people and places. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy this arc.

Even though I've never been to NYC, I found myself nodding in approval at each letter choice. They're largely easily identifiable with the city and the illustrations used matched them perfectly. I don't want to give away the choices, albeit the cover gives some big hints. Oh, okay, we've all heard of the Yankees, so there's the "Y". The "Z" was a pretty cool choice, too, and so NYC. I liked the diversity, variation, and use of color. Little reading aside from the matching word(s) for each letter, so an easy, fun one to skim through, then go back through time and time again. If you're planning a trip to NYC, this would be a great preview, I'd say. Fun filled and captures the city nicely. Thanks #NetGalley and #Familius for this early peek at the city that truly seems never to sleep.

Cute and definitely super unique book! Kids that live in New York will definitely love this, because this book would be so personal to them. However, I know that kids that live in other places will also appreciate and learn from this book because of all the great terms in here. And maybe these kids that live in other places are interested in New York or will travel there someday. Either way, the illustrations and words in this book were so diverse and carefully chosen. Great job on making a fresh ABC book!

I absolutely love childrens books that can be used my local children to leaarn. We all learn through things we are familiar with, so this is a very good way for local children to learn. It can also be a useful tool for teaching inclusivity, and loving all kinds of people, as the book features illustrations of both emergency services and other monuments of cutural significance for the city.

I also love the illustrations in the book. The style and characteristics of the art is adorable. I think my favorite has to be the illustration featuring the New York Yankees. I think the art style gives such a cute and colourful representation of New York City.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Familius Books for giving me a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
