This was an incredibly crafted psychological thriller that captivated me from the very first page and held me in its grip until the very end. The authors storytelling skills are on full display as he weaves a complex and intriguing narrative.

The plot centers around a seemingly ordinary individual whose life takes a dramatic turn due to unforeseen circumstances. The authors ability to delve deep into the psyche of his characters is truly remarkable. The protagonist is richly developed, with layers of complexity that make them incredibly relatable and compelling. Their emotional journey is portrayed with such authenticity that I found myself deeply invested in their fate.

One of the standout features of this book is its intricate plot. The author expertly balances multiple storylines and timelines, creating a web of suspense that kept me guessing at every turn. There are so many twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat. The pacing is perfect, with each chapter ending on a note of anticipation that makes it nearly impossible to put the book down.

The themes explored in this are thought-provoking. The book delves into the complexities of relationships, the impact of past traumas, and the lengths to which people will go to protect their secrets.

In conclusion, If Only You Knew is an exceptional read that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted psychological thriller. This book is a testament to Theo’s talent. It's a gripping, emotional, and thought-provoking novel that will stay with you long after you've read the last page.

This started off great, handing out some creepy, stalkery vibes. Then it kind of fell flat for me. I'm still not sure I understand why William an.d his "secret" was a big issue and caused him to act as he did. But that's neither here nor there. It was a quick ready and an okay way to spend a few hours between the pages.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If Only You Knew by Theo Baxter is a nerves-wracking, blood-boiling divorce thriller that wakes up all the violence in your body.
This book was hard for me and I needed to put it down many times just to cool down. I just can't stand narcissists! Sorry to all the narcissistic bastards out there but you don't deserve oxygen on this planet!

Emily, oh dear Emily! Well done for standing up to the bully! It is hard! You are brave. In this case, the villain is not just a narcissist, he is a rich narcissist and we all know what that means: money+conections=power.
Many women would give up, and many would be smarter, many do this or that, but when you are in a situation manipulated by a narcissistic psychopath it is hard to predict how you would actually do it! It isn't very easy!

When Emily said enough is enough she didn't know she just turned her life into a nightmare - harassment, stalking, break-ins, phone calls...
Teddy will not accept No as an answer and he will definitely not accept that his wife will divorce him! He will twist and manipulate everything and if that does not work he will take what he thinks belongs to him!
Both of them said ‘Till death do us part’. One of them meant it.

I’m baffled. I was expecting a sinister thriller, but this was simply an account of Emily and Teddy’s nasty divorce.

A story about a controlling husband who won’t let his wife go and ignores the restraining order. He taunts and terrorises her in hope that will get her back… what?

Emily is on and off dating William, who went from suspect to friend, multiple times and this element of the story was never properly resolved.

There was very little character development, plot holes all over the place and no real twist.

I’m sorry, but I can’t find anything positive to say about this one.

It was a good thriller but I guessed the twists before the end but would be great for anyone who is just starting with the genre

** Reader discretion - This book didn’t have a content/ trigger warning page, so be advised it contains either graphic to moderate mentions or depictions of the following. Gaslighting, Toxic relationships, Gun Violence, Murder, Infidelity, Death, Domestic & Emotional abuse, Car Accident, & Stabbing.**

This book was not for me. I’m not even sure what I just read honestly? A 200+ page cautionary tale to marriage where the ex-husband rants for 95% percent of the book and to be made out as SUCH an issue for the FMC only to get killed off in the last few pages? And I’m still confused on why William was acting so weird and then all the sudden everything was fine? Did I miss a huge chunk of the book? Was it edited out? No resolution and a ton of plot holes and strings still left. If it’s a series I won’t be continuing it. Feel like I should have DNFd. Don’t recommend. 1.75⭐️ rounded up.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.

A bit slow to start, but did pick up speed eventually. The plot was predictable, if a little far fetched. During the divorce proceedings Emily was humiliated, threatened and cyber stalked, which I did find plausible. The courtroom drama dragged on a little too much and became boring. Not my favourite book by this author.

I literally could not put this book down and I stayed up late reading to finish it. It is addictive and thrilling in the best way possible. Highly recommend anything from this author, never disappoints.

This book started off as a 4-5 star for me but went downhill at about 50% of the way in. I couldn’t put it down as it was giving me lifetime movie vibes but it became redundant and over the top ridiculous. The court appearances were so over the top, nobody could ever get away with speaking like that in a court room. It lacked a true twist and the so called twist was just blah. The redundancy in this book really was getting to me. It could have been over in half the time if things weren’t repeated over and over. I was quite shocked that this went downhill . And the ad that is as posted, I mean really?? Unnecessary and just more filler. I really thought I found a new favorite author when I started this but it just fell flat for me. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this.

Quick, decent read. Emily is in the middle of a high profile divorce from her abusive husband, Teddy, who uses his power and family influence to delay proceedings as long as possible, pushing her into more debt and the inability to move on. She rekindles a friendship with an old flame, William, hoping the relationship can move further. Just as Emily thinks she can start living a “normal” life again, someone has broken into her home and she feels someone is watching her wherever she goes. Is William who he says he is or is Teddy somehow seeking revenge?

I found some parts to be repetitive and over the top, however, many of Emily and Teddy’s thoughts and reactions are plausible giving the subject matter. Would recommend for a quick afternoon read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy. This one had stress from page 1! Emily is going through a vicious divorce with her ex, Teddy. Then she gets a stalker and her email is hacked. She also has a new boyfriend, William who is acting strange. Very fast paced thriller!

This book centers around Emily, who is in the process of divorcing her severely abusive husband, Teddy. The problem is that Teddy isn’t ready to let her go. Even with a restraining order, she suspects that Teddy is doing everything he can to harass her. William, a man whom she spent time with after Teddy tried to kill her in a car accident, comes back into her life right around the same time that all the harassment escalates, and his bizarre behavior has her questioning what’s really going on . Who is really responsible for what’s happening to her?

I liked a lot of things about the book, but I felt like I could see everything coming. It was slightly slow at the beginning, but it quickly gained speed, which I also felt led to some parts feeling rushed. There were definitely some points in the story that to me were important but seemed to not have enough time spent on them, while others that were not as relevant were mentioned over and over. I did really enjoy the overall storyline and plot. I feel like the “mid-divorce” aspect of this book was refreshing and not a storyline that is used often.

Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator books for an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Emily feels like she has been going through her divorce forever. Each time she thinks she has taken a step nearer to completion, her husband, Teddy, has his lawyers come up with another obstacle. Teddy really wants to keep her as his wife until death do they part, even going so far as to cause an accident deliberately while he was driving Emily in the car.
Emily lives alone while the divorce is going through, but while she was in hospital after the accident, she met a nurse, William, and the two of them became friends. It was possible that the friendship could become more, but Emily finds it difficult to trust after the abuse she suffered from Teddy. They decide to take things very slowly, have the occasional meal or drink together for the time being.
Then, Emily notices she is being followed, items in her home have been moved, someone has been in her house. Cameras and microphones have been placed around her house, her email has been hacked and abusive mails sent supposedly from her to her employer and therapist. She receives phone calls from numbers unknown to her, and no one speaks when she answers. Is this Teddy, up to his tricks again, or could it be William, does he have a hidden agenda, and if so what could it be.
This is a gripping psychological thriller, I really enjoyed it, and it kept me up late at night to find out the ending. A real page turner.

This was my first Theo Baxter novel and I was very pleasantly surprised. It was very gripping and kept me hooked. Who needs to cook dinner or do laundry when you could be reading this book? I would highly recommend this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. It was a fast paced book that talked about real world issues but I just couldn’t really connect with any of the characters. I did figure it out pretty early but I was also surprised by the ending. I definitely felt bad for Emily while I was reading about all the things Teddy did to her as she was trying to get her life back on track. I don’t think I would reread it again though. 3.8/5 rounded up to 4.

If Only You Knew is a thrilling story. Read along as we find out who the stalker is. I promise you’ll be guessing until the very end.

I really enjoyed the storyline; while some events were extremely dramatized, there is a large element of truth to the circumstance. The characters were difficult to connect to entirely but the book read so fast-paced that it didn't bother me.
If someone is looking for a quick, predictable thriller, I will recommend.

This book is so seriously flawed that I really can’t say anything about it.

Except. Emily was in a serious automobile accident caused by her abusive husband who called the accident a suicide attempt by her. She files for divorce and starts dating the man who was her nurse in the ICU. Teddy proceeds to harass her during and after the divorce and finally breaks into her house with intent to kill. Who lives and who dies? I will never tell. The only meritorious thing about this book is that the writing and suspense-building are excellent. Emily, however, seems to be an idiot.

I am befuddled by the glowing reviews about this book. Maybe I read a different book. But I wouldn’t recommend this one to anyone.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley.

This was just awful. I'm so sorry but I don't have anything good to say. And I feel bad, since this is an ARC, but to even give this book 2 stars would be pushing it.
The main problems that I had with the book are the following:
- The mystery is predictable, and not a mystery at all really.
- The writing was poor, and when I say that I mean that in a lot of sentences someone would say or do something that didn't make sense from a logical standpoint.
- The same thing is true for the characterization: at one time the characters would feel or act in a certain way for a certain reason and a few chapters later they would do the opposite thing, without rhyme or reason.
- Now this is petty perhaps, but the courtroom scenes were so over the top it was ridiculous... And the same thing for the dialogues.

Emily is trying to leave her abusive husband-Teddy. She can't take anymore and wants a divorce. Teddy is not one to want to let Emily go instead he would rather destroy her life and drag out divorce proceedings. It is heart wrenching to read about all the things Teddy does too Emily and far he will push her to the edge. She grows more and more paranoid and wonders what is real and what is imagined.

Emily doesn't even feel safe in her own home as someone is entering the house, stalking her and knows her every move. She wants to be able to move forward without Teddy.

There were some things that weren't explained clearly and I like everything tied up in a neat bow. Some things were just too far fetched but made for quick read.
