A georgous book! A must have for the garden grower and the perfect gift for Christmas!

This is a beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully curated guide that is perfect for both novice and experienced gardeners. This almanac offers a month-by-month breakdown of what to plant, when to plant it, and how to care for your garden throughout the year. Beginning in January, with a focus on winter flowers like witch hazel and snowdrops, the book takes you through the seasons, providing invaluable advice and seasonal planting suggestions that will keep your garden thriving year-round.

One of the standout features of this book is the attention to detail. Each chapter is packed with practical tips for tasks like pruning, seasonal projects, and how to protect your plants from pests and insects. The inclusion of recommended plants for each month is incredibly helpful, particularly when paired with suggested projects such as creating a flower meadow or capturing rainwater. These ideas go beyond basic gardening and encourage gardeners to get creative and engage with nature in new, sustainable ways.

While the book is based on gardening in London and Edinburgh, the advice can be adapted to different locations, with month-by-month suggestions on what to do and when to do it, making this a versatile resource for gardeners everywhere. The photography throughout is stunning, showcasing not only the plants and flowers but also native wildlife, which adds an extra layer of charm to the book.

The RHS Garden Almanac also highlights horticultural heroes—individuals who have made significant contributions to the gardening world—which is a wonderful touch that sets this almanac apart from other gardening books. It’s not just a practical guide, but also a celebration of the people and practices that shape the world of gardening.

In short, RHS Garden Almanac is a lovely and inspiring read, perfect for anyone who loves gardening or wants to learn more. Whether you're looking for monthly tips, creative project ideas, or simply a beautiful book to enjoy, this almanac is sure to become a treasured addition to the gardening library.

A beautiful book, equal parts informative and inspiring for both expert and newbie gardeners. I wish I lived in England and not in California so I could use this book more.

My oldest daughter is very much into gardening just like I, but needed a book to reference by. What I think this helps make this a 5 star read is the pictures, and descriptions is easy to read for all ages. I love how it included the different seasons but also with visuals making in more inviting and easy to look at. Not only does it go over plants, but also herbs, insects, when to harvest, plants of the season and month. My kids loved the idea of attracting the different insects, and there is a whole section on bees! Without bees we have no food so I believe we should have them showcased as much as possible! My kids are really excited to start our fall and winter garden that we already planted some seeds! But also they want to attract some different insects to try to draw! This books is excellent for those learning kids, for added homeschool curriculum.

This book was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The information was super accessible and deeply fascinating, I don't have a garden but I have a whole lot of heart and a windowsill, this book made me want to try my hand at houseplants. This was easily my favorite read of the month. Whether you're a first time gardener or a seasoned professional this book is for you, it also has moon phases if you're a green witch, so there truly is something for everyone; I particularly enjoyed the horticultural hero spotlights which on their own would have been magnificent but there was queer representation which elevated an already excellent section. Honestly this book was a pleasure to read and hopefully I will get to read the others in the years to come
