I am in love with this Almanac! It is a stunning, comprehensive resource that offers step by step details of what to do to succeed as a gardener in 2025. The artwork is seriously gorgeous! I’m just beyond excited for this book and will be buying a hard copy when it comes out!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a lovely book with a focus on plants, gardens, and gardening throughout the year with the 12 chapters broken up by month beginning with January, as it explores the winter flowers, such as witch hazel and sweet box, and snowdrops.

As in each month there are suggestions on what to do in your garden, depending on the month. There are also suggestions for each month to take on a garden related project.

Beyond that, this includes the projected times by location (although the location is set in London and Edinburgh), the projected Moonrise and moonset, as well as the Average Rainfall.

If nothing else, this is such a beautiful illustrated book, but it is literally filled with photographs of not only fruits, vegetables, etc., but also of the native wildlife, when to plant, as well as how to deal with how to protect your plants from insects, etc, ideas for seasonal planting, as well as horticultural heroes, which I can’t recall seeing in any of my gardening books.

Seasonally speaking, this is somewhat dependent on location, in terms of what plants to plant, when to plant them, and your location, but there is a month by month section sharing what to do in that month, as well as tips on pruning.

One of the things that caught my eye is a ‘project’ on capturing rainwater, which is something that sounds like a wonderful project, along with how to create a flower meadow. But there is an abundance of ideas to choose from, for those who enjoy gardening. This also includes a recommended list of plants, by the month, as well as a recommended project for those who enjoy spending time adding their own creative touch to a garden.
A lovely garden almanac to enjoy with beautiful photographs, and illustrations.

I found this to be a lovely title. There are attractive illustrations as well as many photos throughout. Gardeners will find much helpful information in these pages, while non-gardeners will enjoy the virtual visits.

This title is organized by month. Each month begins with an illustration and a thoughtful and evocative paragraph. Information follows on many topics. To name some, there are what to do in (that month), plants of the month, projects, info on things like average rainfall, challenges and more. I liked the many entries on “Horticultural Heroes.”

This title belongs on British gardeners bookshelves. I can imagine that its audience would want to purchase this one every year.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.

RHS: The Garden Almanac is one that perfectly prepares you for your gardening in 2025.
It is extremely neatly designed, organised and has invaluable tips.
I like books divided into various forms of information and advice, and this is one of them. It is also aided by nice pictures and drawings.
The challenges add a fresh touch. I consider myself a beginner level gardener and have been on the lookout for engaging and practical gardening books. This almanac was perfect for me; I can see many activities that I can share with my family, and the location-specific tips can at times be adapted to other locations. I imagine this is a book that is useful to gardeners of all skills and levels of practice.

This is a nifty little book that breaks down gardening by every month of the year, even the winter. It suggests the maintenance tasks that need to be done. It provides advice on both aesthetic gardens and food gardens. It gives you little projects you can do each month to improve your garden. It's even got indoor gardening, like houseplant tips and how to start herbs and sprouts inside. Do note that it covers the UK, so it's only semi-applicable to the US and other parts of the world. I do think that a lot of the information in here could absolutely be found for free elsewhere on the internet, but a book does have the advantage of collecting everything in one convenient place for you.

This is such a beautifully designed book! The illustrations are stunning and I love that the background information is informative, but not terribly long. The included text is informative, but in a short, accessible way. I feel like this book contains all of the information (and more!) for all gardeners regardless of skill level!

I cannot wait to dive into this book more and learn more!

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My grandmother had a similar book that she wrote notes in. I have this book on my dresser at home, and I read through it at least once a week. I think this book is gorgeous and would make a great gift to the gardener in your life.

I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a must buy, especially for those in the UK. This guide combine science, history, and cultural practices to create a month by month guide to gardening. It's incredibly accessible and illustrative, and honestly, it would look gorgeous on a coffee table!

This is a beautiful book that is perfect for anyone who enjoys gardening, whether that's somebody like me who is just starting out or a more seasoned gardener. The book is beautifully laid out with lovely illustrations and photographs, and is divided into the months of the year advising what plants and produce are in season, which tasks to undertake in the garden, the different kinds of wildlife you may find in your garden as well as planting ideas. I find myself quite overwhelmed when gardening as there's so much to note and remember, so having a list of tasks by month is very helpful to me.

I really enjoyed reading the recipes of dishes you may be able to create from ingredients you've grown in your own garden. One aspect I found particularly useful was that average rainfall is noted for each month, but instead of just giving the UK as a whole this section is split up into the average rainfall for various cities throughout the UK. This is very handy for those of us in Scotland who often experience a very different climate to those in the south of the country.

This is a fantastic gift for any garden-lover!

First of all, this book is absolutely stunning. The cover, the photos, I loved it all! I also enjoyed how easy this book was to read. As an amateur gardener, I still have a lot to learn and this book gave me so many great ideas to try. Every single month has tasks and tips, average rainfall totals, and a fun diy project for you to do. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

This book includes ideas on what to do in your garden each month, projects, plants of the month, so much nice information in one package.

There is wildlife to look out for, edible garden info and thoughts on challenges you might have each month. A historical perspective is included under the heading horticultural heroes.

The focus is on the UK for rainfall, moonrise and set, and sunrise and set lists for each month.

You will find this to be a handy monthly guide you will refer to often throughout the year.

Even though this books specifics are for London and Edinburgh, the advice I found in it was good. It helps take you through how to prepare your garden through out the year and helps provide milestones . I thought it was interesting bow it discussed flower, wildlife, edible plants, even your lawn. It also has short biographies of people in Horticulture. Its a interesting book with some great pictures and good information.
