What a ride!
One Midnight With You is like a whirlwind night out—packed with drama, heart, and just the right amount of chaos. Shari Low weaves together four gripping stories, each with its own twists and emotional gut punches, all playing out against the ticking clock.
Ailish, Emmy, Minnie, and Dario had me hooked from the start, and I was flipping pages like my life depended on it. There’s love, heartbreak, second chances, and a hefty dose of wisdom—all wrapped up in Low’s signature wit.
If you love a story that makes you laugh, cry, and cheer all within a single day, this one’s for you. Unputdownable!

Thank you NetGalley for the ebook arc. Very well written and definitely quickly grabbed my attention and could not put the book down.

One of my favourite authors. Shari Low has done it again, such a fantastic read, as always relatable characters that you quickly become invested in!
As the title suggests One Midnight With You centres around the events leading up to New Years celebrations for a group of friends in Scotland and their traditional meet up in a favourite restaurant. I cannot wait for the next book !

Another fantastic read from Low, with the familiar formula of following several characters over one day. I have loved the different stories that this writer has put together with this theme and each one feels just as different as the last.
It is New Year’s Eve and there are four Glaswegian situations that we learn about. Each chapter is dedicated to the character in turn and I loved how the story is divided into hour segments, kind of creating a pressing need to get the dilemmas resolved before the year ends. I had very little idea how much of a big deal Hogmanay is in Scotland and appreciated how Low conveys the excitement and party atmosphere that develops well before the sun sets.
I liked how the focus characters were a range of ages because I think this broadens the story’s appeal to readers. Each of these characters are at a cross-roads in their life and it is full of emotion as well. Poor Emmy is convinced her boyfriend is having an affair because of his unnatural behaviour over the last few weeks and her worst fears are confirmed when he isn’t working the New Year’s shift he claims to. The breakdown of her parents’ marriage has clearly impacted Emmy with her own relationships and I enjoyed how Low then moves to Emmy’s mother, who is in the pit of despair after separating from her husband two years previous – Emmy’s father. For Minnie, Emmy’s grandmother, she is determined to help out a close friend and this takes her, and eventually all of the other characters, to Dario’s restaurant – the scene of many Hogmanay’s but one whose financial future is in serious doubt.
From relationship cracks to divorces, women finding themselves again and families feeling the post-pandemic strain, this book contains so many emotive elements. I did not foresee how much the main characters would all become entwined with each other and loved how the New Year countdown created such a tense read. My heart was in my mouth when midnight hit because it felt like all the characters had reached their own climax. Would they start the new year with happiness and hope?
Whilst the New Year’s Resolutions may have gone to dust by now, I really enjoyed the celebratory atmosphere of this book. I think it can be one that is read all year round because of how the story ends on such optimism – sometimes we need that in our own lives! I raced through this book because I felt so invested in these realistic characters, wanting them to have their own happy ever after that was so deserved.
With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm beginning to very quickly fall in love with Shari Low's books.
Set across only one day, written from multiple points of view, One Midnight With You tells the tale of how absolutely anything can happen (and change the course of your life) in a single Mew Years Eve.
This book made me smile, made me laugh and made me cry - finally leaving me with a warm feeling in my heart. ❤️
4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Shari Low delivers another heartfelt, unputdownable read with One Midnight with You, a novel that beautifully weaves love, loss, second chances, and the power of new beginnings—all in the span of just twenty-four hours.
Told through multiple perspectives, this book takes us on an emotional journey as four lives intertwine on the eve of a new year. Ailish, still reeling from the betrayal that shattered her marriage, must decide whether to step back into the world or keep hiding from it. Emmy, her daughter, faces the gut-wrenching realization that the man she loves may not be who she thought he was. Minnie, the wise and determined grandmother, embarks on a mission filled with nostalgia and love. And Dario, a man burdened by his family legacy, faces the hardest decision of his life.
With her signature warmth and wit, Low masterfully explores themes of resilience, forgiveness, and the courage to move forward. The ticking clock adds urgency, making each character’s choices even more poignant. The setting, the emotions, and the well-drawn relationships create a deeply immersive experience—one that lingers long after the final page.
If you’re a fan of Marian Keyes, Beth Moran, or Lauren Weisberger, One Midnight with You is a must-read. It’s the perfect mix of humor, heartbreak, and hope—proving that a lot can change in just twenty-four hours.

One Midnight With You by Shari Low
What would you do if you had just twenty-four hours to change your life?
Ailish Ryan has been in hiding since her husband's affair ended their marriage. But when a friend forces her to face her new reality, will she choose to revisit the past or embrace a brand-new future?
Ailish's daughter, Emmy, thought her boyfriend was nothing like her cheating father, but now she's not so sure. As the hours pass, she turns detective to find out if she picked the right man or if history is repeating itself.
Grandmother Minnie Ryan is on a mission to deliver an extraordinary gift to a lifelong friend. But will dogged determination and a touch of divine intervention be enough to overcome the obstacles fate puts in her way?
Dario Moretti has spent his whole life working in the family business, but now it's in trouble, and he's out of options. Will he be able to let it go, even if it means hurting the people he loves?
The clock is ticking… but will twenty-four hours be long enough to heal four broken hearts?
Shari Low (she who can do no wrong) has written another corker of a story. It has everything I have come to expect from a Low novel and more. It is an unputdownable, uplifting, heartfelt read.
The book starts with an introduction to the characters, which is very useful, as when you begin reading and each character is introduced into the story, you have already got an idea of who they are and how they fit in.
I loved each of the characters. They were all unique and felt wonderfully accurate.
The different scenarios were so well written that I felt like I was reliving past scenes from my life. I was thrown into a whirlpool of emotions, one moment laughing and the next crying, and there were a couple of conclusions I had guessed entirely wrong, which made me smile.
I want to thank Publishers Boldwood Books, author Shari Low and Rachels Random Resources for a copy to read and review.

One Midnight for You is a sweet and emotional romance that centers on love, fate, and second chances. The story follows two people whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways, forcing them to confront their pasts and their feelings. While the romance is heartwarming and the characters are relatable, the pacing felt a bit slow at times, and I found myself wanting a bit more depth in the plot.
That said, there’s plenty of chemistry between the leads, and the themes of forgiveness and personal growth are well done. It’s a nice, feel-good read, though it didn’t stand out as much as I’d hoped. A solid 3-star read for fans of contemporary romance!

I haven’t found a Shari Low that I didn’t like. She has a unique style of writing that immerses you in her characters’ lives and the drama they create.
As always, her books start with the cast/ characters which I have always loved. It helps to figure out who is who and the relationships between them.
One Midnight With You follows the story of recently divorced Ailish and her two best friends on New Year’s Eve or Hogmanay in Scotland.
I enjoyed this and as with all her books this celebrates friendship and family. I love the friendship between Ailish, Gwen and Rhonda. You will certainly be entertained when reading about their antics.
The book is divided into two hours and four chapters each starting from the morning and up till midnight. The chapters are easy to go through and you will certainly find new friends when you read this.
If you love books about relatable characters with real problems then you should read this.
I received an advanced copy and the review is mine and voluntary.

I thoroughly enjoy Shari’s ‘One’ series of books. It’s not really a series in the strict sense of the word, as the books don’t follow on from each other, but there are various characters who appear in some form or other, playing major or minor roles in each story. It’s such fun to see where they’ll pop up next, and how they fit in to each new plot.
It’s New Years’ Eve, and as the story takes place in Scotland, it’s called Hogmanay – this seems to be a word derived from French Gaelic. Everyone is eagerly awaiting a night of celebration, the stroke of midnight (referred to as ‘the bells’), and the arrival of the new year. But there’s a lot that’s still going to happen in the final hours of the ‘old’ year’!
The story is told from three alternating points of view: Ailish, still reeling from her (ex-) husband’s deception that she discovered exactly two years ago (and would you believe the timing – the final divorce papers landed on her doormat this very morning!); her daughter Emmy, who thought her lovely boyfriend Cormac was a keeper, but who now has reason to suspect that he (and possibly all men) are rubbish, just like her dad; and her mother Minnie, who is determined to deliver a gift and a message to a very special friend before the year is out.
All three characters come with a bunch of delightful friends (cheerleaders, if you will), many of whom, we discover, are as quirky and colourful as Christmas wrapping paper, and definitely not as easily tossed aside or forgotten!
And the background to it all is the much-loved local Italian restaurant, Gino’s. Now run by Gino’s son Dario, who has troubles of his own, the popular eatery has run into some major financial difficulties. Things aren’t what they used to be and the landscape has changed a lot – especially since the lockdowns, and although he’s given it his all, Dario knows that it’s decision time – when in comes to matters of business and of the heart.
By the time the bells chime at midnight, there’ll be a whole lot of life-changing drama, tears, laughter and banter going on, and I can promise you, you don’t want to miss any of it!
Shari Low understands people. She knows how the heart works. She has a keen perception of the intricacies of long-term friendship. She has empathy for the poignancy that comes with ageing. And she knows just how to blend all of these elements together to create a warm, unforgettable story. I can’t wait for the next One … see what I did there ;).

Another awesome book by this fantastic author. It is always so great to pick up one of her books and not be disappointed.
One midnight with you is no exception and follows her style of a 24hour period with 4 characters who intertwine with each other and previous books. I love the depth and storyline she conveys in such a short time period.
Highly recommend

Great story by a good author. The multiple points of view can be confusing but overall good story. Thanks NetGalley.

This was another fabulous read from this brilliant author that I couldn’t put down. This author has a knack of being able to get to the heart of human emotion and writes about relatable issues and characters that you can relate to.
This was another of this authors books set over the timeline of 24 hours this time it involves New Year’s Eve.
This was a beautiful and touching read that showed us the importance of friendships and bonds which can be made

I always enjoy Shari Low and this was no exception - a really warm story and wonderful characters. I didn't really want it to end... would recommend. Many thanks

As always a fantastic book by a consistently brilliant author. I always regret their ending and always look forward to the next book thanks

I love Shari Low's books, and this is up there with the best.
This is another book set over the course of 24 hours, and this time, it's Hogmanay in Scotland, and we follow 4 different characters who are dealing with some difficulty in their lives. The 24-hour setting is brilliant, how Low plans and executes the concept I'd something to behold! You care for all the characters, and that's just a testament to the author's writing.
Loved it.

Shari Low always manages to bring us thought provoking, heartfelt stories and One Midnight With You did not disappoint. I adored the characterisation and the storyline flowed effortlessly throughout.

I absolutely loved reading this book and getting to know more about all the characters
A great story about the lives of a group of friends and family all linked to the restaurant Gino’s.
Ailish,, her daughter Emmy, mother in law Minnie are the main chapters as they head towards New Years Eve. Along with other Characters Dario, who runs the restaurant, Eric, Ailish’s ex husband and their friends.
2 years ago Ailish’s work fell apart when shortly after midnight in the restaurant that had been a major part of their family life, she discovered her husband of 30 years had been having an affair. She has spent the last 2 years trying to get her life back together and this morning her divorce paper dropped through her door. Her best friends Gwen and Rhonda are determined to get her out of herself. Gwen has been receiving treatment for cancer and wanted to spend New Year’s Eve back at Ginos, like they always did (until 2 years ago) as much as Ailish doesn’t want to, she goes along with it and begins to look forward to the night.
Emmy her daughter is a nurse and living with her boyfriend Cormac, is feeling something is not quite right, but doesn’t know what. Is he having an affair?
Minnie, her mother in law has spent the day picking up a special gift to give to Gino, the original owner of Ginos and is planning on giving it to him that night. However things don’t seem to be going to plan
We follow the characters in the lead up to Midnight.
A great read, highly recommend. I loved all the characters and hoped things would work their way

Shari Low writes the best books and there is nothing more to add than, this is another brilliant story written by her. Please buy it because you will love it too

One Midnight with You by Shari Low is about one New Year's Eve in Scotland... 24 hours. A host of likable characters, each experiencing a major life event - illness, death of a loved one, divorce, betrayal, perceived betrayal... A major loss of life as they once knew it. And how, in 24 hours, On the eve of the new year, a new beginning, new beginnings for all. I love the pace of Shari Low's books, such an uplifting story.
