I just absolutely love these Heart of the Amish books and this one was no exception. I find them fascinating and heartwarming all at the same time. This one was especially close to my heart as her secret relates to me as well. You feel for Serenity so very much. She's the epitome of kindness, patience, and strength.
After all the challenges that she has already went through in her life and then to have what happened to her in the barn happen? That would have broken a lot of other people. Not Serenity though. She chooses to use it to fuel her faith in God and to keep having hope. I admire her a lot for that. Not everyone would be able to do that.
I especially loved her friends. They clearly love and adore each other. It's something that I myself wish for and do not yet have. You can feel how they care for one another. I especially loved her parents and Steven as well.
He is so protective of her, and I love that in a man. Yes, things happen and maybe he didn't handle things right at first, but he is only human like the rest of us. I respect him for going out of his road to try and fix things.
Overall, just another wonderful addition to this book series. I hope the stories keep coming.
Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to Lisa Jones Baker for the ability to read and review this book. All opinions are my own and are completely honest.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this great book.
The characters Trini, Abby, and Serenity are so beautifully done. I loved the realistic way they are portrayed. Their strengths and weaknesses are both described. To many Amish novels gloss over everything and the characters are just so.perfect they are not believable.
Serenity and Stephen's love story is beautiful and I enjoyed the read from start to finish.
I and am hoping to get to read Arbb's story soon.
Highly recommend.

Serenity's life is full, she is the proud owner of The Pink Petal, she owns a wonderful horse appropriately named Angel, and she has two loving parents and best friends that are her constant support. Outside of all she has to be thankful for in her life, there is her best friend Stephen. They both have always had strong feelings for each other. But when a criminal attacks Serenity in her barn Stephen feels even more compelled than ever to finally take the next step with Serenity. But they have never shared their feelings, and she has determined she will never marry. She loves him, but the closer he gets the more she pulls away, she has a secret that she knows would only make a future for them impossible.
For me, the story at moments was a bit of a slow burn, and there was wordiness that for me was too much at times causing me to lose interest. But I think that may just be a personal preference on my part, because I do believe the author was just trying to infuse more info into the story. And you'll find you will gain a lot of real insights into medical conditions, flowers, animal behavior, natural medicines, etc with this story. But Serenity and Stephen's love story kept me turning the pages to see how they would end up!
This story is wonderful... what I did not expect was all the mystery and suspense that is written into this story. Certainly there is also a wonderful helping of faith-filled moments. And of course, there is romance.

What a beautiful story. In this book, you will experience romance, mystery, suspense, secrets, friendship, family, heartbreak, joy, and the peaceful countryside of Arthus, Illinois. The sincerity and earnestness of Lisa Jones Baker's characters always touches my heart. I especially enjoy their deep relationship with the Lord and the wisdom they draw from His word. Also entertaining in this book was learning about different plants and flowers. Serenity's Secret is a well-written and deeply moving story.
I received an advance reading copy from Barbour Publishing through Net Galley. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required to give a positive review.
(Thank you for allowing me to read and review this book. I have posted reviews on Goodreads, Christian Books and B&N. I will post on Amazon upon publication. I wish this lovely story much success!)

I really enjoyed reading this book! Amish fiction is my favorite genre, and Lisa Jones Baker is becoming a favorite author! There's intrigue, a mystery, and a friend's to lovers romance! The mystery really kept me guessing until the end.
There are familiar characters from the previous books. The characters are well developed and easy to like! I enjoy reading about the friendship of Trini, Abby, and Serenity. Their support and love for each other is comforting. My favorite character, though, has to be Angel the horse! His personality is epic, and his love for Serenity is apparent to everyone!
I hope a story for Abby is coming soon! I certainly am looking forward to reading more books by this author!
I was provided a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour Publishing via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved reading the inspirational and captivating story. When Serenity is attacked and left tied up, Stephen comes to her rescue. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story by the amazing author, Lisa Jones Baker.

I enjoyed this book by Lisa Jones Baker. I was surprised to learn that Serenity had more than one secret-she had two and it was definitely not what I thought they would be. A suspenseful Amish love story, it has you guessing as to why this sweet Amish girl was attacked in her own barn when she didn’t have any enemies. Would she be able to identify her attackers or would she and the town she lived in constantly be in fear? The storyline is a constant reminder of faith and forgiveness. I highly recommend this book. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.

Serenity’s Secret by
Lisa Jones Baker.
Serenity’s Secret by Lisa Jones Baker is book six on the Heart of the Amish series. It is the wonderful tale of Serenity and Stephen’s love. They both have feelings for each other but Serenity has a secret and Stephen has a deep feeling of his unworthiness of Serenity.
These two characters are so well developed by Ms. Baker that you begin to think of them as your close family friends.
You will love the plot as it moves seamlessly from page to page. The way this author tells the story, you are unaware of Serenity’s secret until the end of the story and you are kept following the storyline from one page to the next. A real page turner.
It is interesting to watch the characters develop throughout the book. They grow and they develop as the learn God’s will for their lives.
I was given an ARC by the publisher, Barbour Press and I was not required to give a positive review.
This book deserves 5-stars, and will be released October. 1, 2024. You should pre-order today.

Serenity was attacked by 2 men in her barn, they blindfolded her and tied her up on the floor.
Before sunrise, her neighbor Steven Lantz came by to check on her, he saw her buggy in the shed so he knocked on her door and ran to the barn, he heard her horse Angel whinnying and he searched the barn until he found her by the hay bales.
He untied her and cut away her knots, he massaged her feet and ankles until her circulation returned, she finally told him that two men had done this but had not abused her. They contacted the police but the two men who were accused of the crime did not do it.
Serenity and her town lived in fear of another incident and Serenity and Steven grew closer.

𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬'𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧 is the sixth book in the 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗵 series, a multi author collaboration and was a friends to lovers romance. Serenity and Stephen are neighbours that harbour feelings for each other but are hesitant to act upon them. Stephen is a good man and he has deep feelings for his friend but doesn’t feel worthy of her. Serenity instead has some closely guarded secrets that she feels deter from her marriage prospects. Add in the suspenseful nature of this story and you have a very interesting read. I read this one in one sitting and enjoyed it but it was not my favourite of the series. I’m giving 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬'𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy.
