This is another great book about lovers torn apart but they come back together. Carolyn is putting everything she has into her jewelry shop but canโt help but feel all of these accidents are related. When another thing happens at her jewelry store her past comes back and discovers something unexpected. Zach loved her more than anything and never wanted to leave her. When Carolyn called off their engagement he never stopped loving her. Seeing her again brings back all of those feelings and memories. Will they be giving a second chance? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 4 in a 6 book series. It can certainly be read as a stand alone.
This was a great, quick read about a second chance romance. There was certainly some mystery and suspense that kept the pace of the book moving. By nature of being a 200 page book some details were missing or could have been built upon.
Overall another great read by Leslie North.
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy in exchange for my honest review.
Carolyn is a strong woman and knows what she wants for herself and her son. Zach comes back into the picture after she thought he was long gone. He is ready to be part of their lives and is ready to protect them at all costs.
This is a perfect fit for readers who crave a heartwarming and action-packed romance with a strong military hero, a second-chance love story, and a sweet family drama, all wrapped up in a exhilarating mystery that will keep them on the edge of their seats.

I saw it on Netgalley, read the description and thought: Why not? It was very much an impulsive decision which turned out to be good!

I'm giving it 3 stars as it is a book that isn't within my usual tendencies to read. HOWEVER, it was good enough to make me finish the whole thing.
It is a second chance story that was overall well written.
Carolyn, FMC: a jewelry store owner and a single mom to her son Austin
Zach, MMC: Navy SEAL with the Black OPPs unit.
Both Zach and Carolyn share a past; the two were once engaged until Carolyn broke off their engagement.
The reason for this what that Carolyn could not deal with the dangers with Zach being a Navy SEAL and with him being practically MIA for months upon months which, as you could imagine, caused stress and worry for Carolyn.
Zach however is distraught as Carolyn is the only person he ever loved.
So... when he is sent in to help when a jewelry store is robbed and a woman has been held captive, it is none other than Carolyn herself that he is sent to save.
After seeing each other again they begin to realize the feelings that they both share for one another haven't changed but they have to slowly rebuild the trust.

This book is book 4 in a series but I, myself, have not read the first 3 and didn't find it hard to follow or even enjoy the story.
However, my review might've been different if I had read the first 3 before reading this book.
So it is completely up to you as to whether or not you wish to read this as a standalone or read the others before it.
What can I say? I loved this book! Loved the characters. I really think this author's writing flows well. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great intriguing and heartfelt romance story.
This is the 4th book in the โSpringwell Series.โ Zach is a sexy alpha Navy SEAL with the Black OPPs unit. Carolyn is a jewelry store owner and a single mom to her son Austin. Both Zach and Carolyn share a past; the two were once engaged until Carolyn broke off their engagement. Carolyn could not deal with the dangers with Zach being a Navy SEAL and with him MIA for months at a time. When Carolynโs jewelry store is robbed and she is held captive Zach is the one sent in to help. Carolyn has a secret that she has that and Zach have a son Austin. As usual Leslie North has done an awesome job with another great addition to the Navy SEALs.
I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Iโm a sucker for a hot military man. Especially a protective alpha male. Zach jumped into his role as father and protector for his son and Carolyn as soon as threatening events start happening to descend her business. This former SEAL has found a home heโd been waiting for. Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy Iโm leaving this review voluntarily
Great read, when Carolyn and her son are held hostage in her jewelry store, her security company and thepolice are called into action. But when the sniper gets a view he realizes itโs his ex fiancรฉ. If that wasnโt a shock he had another one coming!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review
Carolyn and Zach, former fiancรฉs separated by Zach's Navy Seal duties, reunite when her jewelry store is robbed. Zach, now a SWAT team member, discovers Carolyn and their son, whom he didn't know about, during the heist. As they confront their past and present, they work to rebuild trust and explore the unresolved feelings between them. The book starts with the heist, revealing Zach as a sniper who recognizes Carolyn and their child. After the robbery, Zach delves into the troubles plaguing Carolyn and her store, leading to intense discussions about their past and future.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is book 4 in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. I didn't feel the chemistry between Carolyn and Zach, This was more about protecting her than rescuing her. This is a 2nd chance romance and a surprise child. A very quick read, with a smidge of suspense. 3 stars
Rating: 4 stars
Spice: 2/5
Carolyn and Zach are reunited when Carolynโs jewelry store is robbed and Zach is part of the SWAT team that is deployed during the burglary. Zach and Carolyn are old flames who were once engaged until Zachโs job as a Navy Seal causes Carolyn to break it off since heโs never around. Much to Zachโs surprise, Carolyn has given birth to his child. After seeing each other again, they realize that their feelings for each other havenโt changed, but they have to work to rebuild the trust.
I really enjoyed this book. The element of mystery added to the appeal of the book. I enjoyed seeing how they navigated getting to know each other again and having Zach get to know his son.
The book opens with a heist at a jewelry store. Zach is a former Navy Seal now working for a security firm and is located across the street as a sniper. He realizes that Carolyn the only woman he has ever loved and broke up with before his last deployment is being held hostage and yet there is something familiar with the little boy she is holding. After the suspect is taken care of he tracks her down and finds out about the boy and the two of them have some heavy conversations about the boy and the reason why she broke up with him. He also begins to look into why she is having so many things happen to her and her store. A very good store with excellent characters.
"Rescuing Carolyn" by Leslie North is a contemporary romance novel that revolves around Carolyn, a dedicated and determined woman facing unexpected challenges. The story combines elements of suspense and romance, set against the backdrop of intriguing and dynamic environments.
Leslie North's writing captures the tension and chemistry between Carolyn and her rescuer, weaving in emotional depth and complex character dynamics. With a strong emphasis on love, loyalty, and overcoming obstacles, the novel delivers a compelling narrative that will appeal to fans of heartfelt and adventurous romance.
What can I say about Rescuing Carolyn besides that this book was a very cute second chance romance love story. There was a bit of instant love, however the MMC was so protective of the FMC. One thing I loved and apricated of this book was that there was not much miscommunication trope. They were all older and when things got rough, they sat down and had a conversation and not assumed the negative about each other. This is a great book if you want a love story that is closer to real life then other second chance romances. #NetGalley
Now that Leslie North doesn't publish a book every week her work seems to have become better? The characters had depth and they were decent people with full personalities? I actually enjoyed this book even if I wanted confirmation that Zach wasn't sleeping around after Carolyn broke their engagement off. Other than that the book was great. Carolyn and Zach spent some time working on fixing everything that went wrong in the past and they spent time with cute baby Austin. The suspense was good and it was in enough quantity to keep the plot going. After a few misses, I would recommend this LN book.
I always enjoy the books written by Leslie North, and Rescuing Carolyn is another outstanding book by this author. Carolyn and Zack have a history. They were to be married, but Carolyn knew she couldn't stand the stress of not knowing if Zack would come back from his missions with the military, so she broke it off. Unknown to both of them, she was pregnant at the time and when she found out, she wasn't able to get in touch with Zack to tell him since his phone number had changed. In my opinion, Carolyn didn't try very hard to contact Zack. Who would only call/text a phone number if you were wanting to let that person know they were going to become a parent. You would email and call all of his friends to track him down. I felt Zack forgave her way too easily for her lack of real trying to contact him. But, once you get past that, I did believe in their re-connection and the love that never died. Very good book. Thank you NetGalley and Leslie North for an advanced copy.
A great second chance story. This book is fourth in the series, but I didn't feel lost by not having read the first 3. This is a quick and easy read. I will say Leslie North knows how to write a great love scene. I will need to go back and read the first 3 books. Hot alpha males, what more could a girl ask for?
Thank you to NetGalley, Relay Publishing and Leslie North for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thank you NetGalley for this book.
