Settle in for a sweet romance on the beaches of Hawaii. The reader is quickly immersed in an ocean-breeze setting, complete with a mix-up workplace vacation situation that leads to...you've got it! Romance!

I enjoyed the quick dialogue between Hazel and Jack, and there is a wonderful cast of supporting characters, too. The romance builds quickly, and lots to enjoy for readers who like their romance sweet and clean. I recommend it.

I want to thank NetGalley for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

First of all thank you so much to NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing me with my this ARC.

Hazel and Jack work for the same company, hold the same position but they've never met. The only way they know each other is from work e-mails, which makes them both not like each other. When they both win a vacation to the same resort in Hawaii, there's very little chance they could ever bump into each other.

When they meet each other under interesting circumstances, they have no idea who the other person is but the chemistry is more than any of them could have ever expected. They hit it off very quickly and soon after meeting share their first kiss. Once they learn who the other person they just kissed is, struggles start.

That won't stop them from enjoying each other's company while on vacation, dreading the day they have to leave.

This book! I don't know what it was about it that made me so happy reading it. Maybe it was the vacation setting in Hawaii, completely felt like I'm in there with them. Maybe it was the sea turtle Chester that I felt in love with. Maybe it was MMC, who I mean SWOON! Maybe it was FMC, who at times I could really resonate with personally. Maybe it was the whole story that I loved. This book was basically reading itself. It was perfect summer beach read.

Hazel and Jack's story was simply so cute and I loved it so much!

I'm not a first time reader of Evie Sterling but I haven't read any of the books in this series, this book was perfectly fine to be read as a stand alone. Will definitely read the other books from the series as well!

Set mostly at a Hawaiian resort, Hazel and Jack don't realize that they are rival coworkers at the same company.

This had a very fun and unexpected meet cute! And loved Chester the sea turtle!

I also liked that we saw them figure out life after the vacation. However, the office drama and third act break up were frustrating. I just wanted them to communicate sooner! It was good to have dual POV to see them both struggling.

Title: So Not My Romantic Getaway

Author: Evie Sterling

Rating: ★★★★

Hazel thought she'd scored big with a week-long trip to Hawaii, ready for sun and relaxation in her new bikini and beach hat. Her excitement fizzles, though, when she finds out her work nemesis, Jack Morgan, also won the trip (yip yip)

Jack, with his stubborn, cocky, and annoyingly charming personality, is the last person Hazel wants to spend her vacation with. Their rocky work history and competition for a promotion only add to the tension. But after a few too many poolside cocktails, they hatch a wild plan to fake a relationship: Hazel to cheer up her mom and Jack to impress his ex.

What starts as a scheme quickly turns into more as Jack's crooked smile and charming personality make Hazel swoon. To be fair, who wouldn’t swoon?

Hazel discovers a sweeter, more outgoing side of Jack, and they bond over stolen kisses, surf sessions, and a shared love of sea turtles. The ultimate summer holiday romance.

Their fake relationship starts feeling like a real fairytale romance. But is it genuine, or just a beautiful illusion in the sand?

Evie Sterling has done it again! What a delightful read.

So Not My Romantic Getaway is a cutesy, fun read with sparkling chemistry between Hazel and Jack. Their journey from rivals to lovers is filled with humour, sweet moments, and plenty of swoon-worthy scenes. If you love enemies-to-lovers stories set in a tropical paradise, this book is a must-read!

Thank you to The author Evie Sterling & Netgalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.

So not my Romantic Getaway was a cute little story. Would make the perfect beach read, especially since it is set in Hawaii. It is under 300 pages, so it reads more like a quick novella than novel. But it eas enjoyable and I would read more by the author for sure.

Overall Rating: 3/5 ⭐
Release Date: Jul 19 2024

I thought this was a cute, easy, beach read! I love the premise and they way the met in the book.

I liked the beginning a lot but found it got a bit boring and rushed as the book went on. I liked the characters for the most part, but some things felt a bit cringey to me.

That being said, I think lots of people would enjoy it and it would be worth adding to your summer TBR.

So Not My Romantic Getaway⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hazel is thrilled that she won a week-long trip to Hawaii as a reward for her star performance at work. However, her excitement is ruined when she discovers that her rival coworker, Jack Morgan, has also won the trip. Jack is everything she finds frustrating- he is stubborn, cocky, and annoyingly charming. So when her boss emails her they should meet and work together for the new client, she quickly says she will handle it by herself. The plan is to never have to meet Jack Morgan in person and also not to have to work while on vacation. However, that is not the case.

This was such a cute, summer read. The characters were funny together and had great banter. The setting in Hawaii was perfect for a summer read. I enjoyed the dual point of view and that it was a clean/closed door romance. The story also touches on themes of personal growth, self-discovery and found family. It was easy to get hooked in the beginning and made for a fast read.

While this is the third book in the series, you can still read it as a standalone. This book will publish on July 19, 2024. Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for my advanced readers copy. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

* dual POV
* Coworkers
* Holiday romance
* Opposite personality styles
* Clean - 🫑kisses and hugs on page only.
* HEA

The story follows Hazel and Jack, remote staff of a larger company, who unbeknownst to them both win a performance holiday to Hawaii. Via email they have both developed flawed opinions of the other and over the course of the week holiday break down the “email” person to the “real” person. However, work is never far away.

The premise is sweet. Think, midday movie in a glamourous beachside location. Occasionally thats what you want. A nice, sweet story about two opposites finding each other, navigating hiccups and taking a chance at happily ever after. Jack’s family and Chester, the turtle were fantastic wingmen. The character overthinking on page became a little same-same for me without moving the story along. The third act breakup was from left field and an interesting author choice.

With thanks to the author, Victory Editing and NetGalley for the eARC ahead of publication date. All thoughts, opinions and grammar errors are my own.

So Not My Romantic Getaway is part of the My Not So Fairytale Life Series. I had not read the previous book and found this read just fine as a standalone.

This was such a cute read. Jack and Hazel's first meet was anything but conventional... and I loved it! Throughout their first date and the best kiss though, they failed to learn one thing--- each other's names. When they finally discover the truth, they learn that they are coworkers and work rivals whose previous interactions had all been through email. It was definitely a really fun way to start the story and I found myself really enjoying their chemistry. There were definitely some moments where I wanted to shake some sense into one or both of them, but it all worked out in the end. I loved the great summer vibes in this story... and Chester the Sea Turtle really won my heart and made this story all that much better! If you're looking for a fun summer romance, this is certainly one worth checking out.

So Not My Romantic Getaway is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It did have one very minor swear.

**I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Fun and quick read. Co-workers Hazel and Jack both work for the same company – and both remote. So, they have never actually met each other. They both won a vacation to Hawaii for being a “star employee”. She hates him – he thinks she’s condescending, and a stuffy old lady based on the emails they exchange through work.

This is a closed-door romance. There are only a couple of kisses described. Kinda bummed about that, ha-ha. But for those who don’t like open scenes, this is perfect. I did enjoy the HEA ending. Thought it was really sweet.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

I started this book in the late morning and just late afternoon. I just loved Jack. He was so charming, a perfect book boyfriend. I liked Hazel too, she was more guarded and would over think so many things but she came around and that’s when I really started liking her. Jack’s family was also great. His brother, his wife, and their kids. Wonderful. The location of Hawaii was perfect. Yon will want to be there when they describe it. It’s sounds perfect. These two are basically strangers who are co workers but never met. They finally met in Hawaii when both won this work trip. They have an instant connection but still don’t know each other’s names. At the end of the night is it finally revealed. They both are shocked. They can’t stand each other as coworkers! But the connection they felt was amazing. See what happens as they grow closer during the trip but both know work is against them being together.

I loved this twist on enemies to lovers where they fall for each other before realizing they know each other the shared hatred for a bad manager and the way they found their way back to each other. Just such a fun and easy summer read.

EARC Book Review: *So Not My Romantic Getaway* by Evie Sterling**

Rating: 5/5🌟

Evie Sterling's *So Not My Romantic Getaway* is a delightful, enemies-to-lovers romance that captures the magic of unexpected connections and the beauty of a tropical paradise. This charming story is the perfect blend of humor, tension, and sweet romance, set against the idyllic backdrop of a Hawaiian resort.

The story follows our protagonist, who is thrilled to win a week-long trip to Hawaii as a reward for her stellar performance at work. Her excitement, however, is dampened when she discovers that her rival coworker, Jack Morgan, has also won the trip. Jack is everything she finds frustrating: stubborn, cocky, and annoyingly charming. Their contentious history and competition for the same promotion set the stage for an entertaining and dynamic relationship.

Sterling’s writing is engaging and witty, bringing to life the amusing and often tense interactions between the main characters. The premise of pretending to be a happy couple to cheer up her mom and help Jack impress his ex is both fun and ingenious. The chemistry between the protagonist and Jack is electric, and their banter is sharp and delightful.

The Hawaiian setting adds a layer of enchantment to the story. Sterling vividly describes the lush landscapes, the relaxing beach scenes, and the adventurous surf sessions, immersing readers in the tropical paradise. The setting serves as the perfect backdrop for the blossoming romance, making their moments together even more magical.

One of the highlights of *So Not My Romantic Getaway* is the character development. As the protagonist spends more time with Jack, she discovers a side of him that’s much different from the frustrating coworker she thought she knew. Jack’s sweetness, outgoing nature, and ability to draw her out of her shell make him an endearing character. Their evolving relationship is both believable and heartwarming, filled with stolen kisses, shared laughter, and genuine connection.

The story also touches on themes of personal growth and self-discovery. Both characters learn to see beyond their initial impressions and embrace the complexities of their personalities. Their journey from rivals to lovers is beautifully paced, with moments of introspection and emotional depth that add richness to the narrative.

The conclusion is satisfying and leaves readers with a warm, fuzzy feeling. The resolution of their work rivalry and their realization of their true feelings for each other are handled with care and authenticity, making for a fulfilling and heartwarming ending.

Overall, *So Not My Romantic Getaway* is a delightful romantic comedy that will leave you smiling long after you’ve finished reading. Evie Sterling has crafted a story that is as heartwarming as it is entertaining, with characters that feel real and a romance that’s both swoon-worthy and relatable. Highly recommended for fans of enemies-to-lovers romances and anyone looking for a fun, feel-good read.

So Not My Romantic Getaway by Evie Sterling drew me in with its work enemies go on the same vacation trope. It was a good read but sometimes the inner dialogue made it hard to remain focused so I had to read the pages again. Was hoping for a little more before they feel for each other as it felt to quick. Other than that it was a good read.

This was a pretty fun, quick, and easy read. I love books set on a tropical vacation destination and fake dating, and this covered those bases. I went into the book knowing the author writes “clean romance” and so I knew not to expect any spice.

That said 👀, I felt like Jack went from so heartbroken to in love with the main character SO QUICK. They didn’t even know each other that well and they were already convinced they were falling. This and the reason behind the 3rd act breakup felt a little hard to believe. They just assume that hard and don’t talk? Idk. 😔

I had trouble getting invested in the characters and there was so many inner thoughts, I was also having trouble focusing and had to try really hard not to skim to get to the dialogue or any sort of action. The premise, setting and characters were great. If there was a little more tension and build up, it’d be easier to recommend.

Tropes:
* Vacation
* Fake dating
* Dual pov

About: Hazel is a Sales Lead who WFH and does things more old school, despite being newly in her 30s. She’s great at her job and won a trip to Hawaii, so her life is great except she’s been lying to her mom about having a bf to make her happy. Who can help her in this lie? None other than the hot stranger she made eyes with in the lobby who unbeknownst to her turns out to be her rival co-worker who also won a trip.

I received this as an arc from Netgalley. This book was not it for me. I feel like at the beginning, I was excited for some office romance on vaca. [ They literally hung out twice, and kissed. He then says he is falling in love. They then decide to do a long distance relationship and get in trouble at work because of the days on vaca....they get interviewed by legal at work and MMC basically says no nothing special to avoid work trouble. (they had both agreed to this beforehand) So then tell me why they don't speak to each other after FOR MONTHS. Then they miraculous meet up in Hawaii because he sees a pic and flys immediately to HAWAII. They then share another kiss to signify their LoVe. After the beginning, it was so rushed. Once the work drama came in, there was on more flirting or banter. It also felt like this accelerated way too fast given their previous interactions. Then for them to not talk...I feel like it was just added for the sake of a third act breakup. (hide spoiler)] For anyone looking for spice...there is literally just a couple kisses in this one. This book was just way below the mark for me.

Book: So Not My Romantic Getaway
Author: Evie Sterling
Rating: 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Another great book by Evie Sterling!

This one is the last one in her Not So Fairytale Life series and even though the MFC is from Windsor, New Hampshire, the location for this one takes place in Hawaii!

I loved it from the beginning to the end. It had such cute and swoony characters, the MMC was so confident and funny, and I absolutely loved his meddling family.

I really enjoyed that the MMC brought the FMC out of her comfort zone and helped to see that life isn't all about work and rules.

Also ... there's a sea turtle named Chester! 😍

You get:
• Sweet Romance
• Coworkers
• Enemies To Lovers
• Secret Swiftie MMC
• Fake Dating
• It's Never Been Like This
• Found Family

I highly recommend you pick this one up on July 19th! And check out her other books too. This is a complete stand alone and no characters overlap.

What a great romcom! I enjoyed it immensely. I recommend this book to any romcom lovers!Pick this one up!

Okay, Hazel and Jack. I liked the set up as a good enemies to lovers situation even though they were enemies for all of .2 seconds. Her desperation to have a "boyfriend" forcing them to couple up was also great. A convenience trope is enjoyed!

However, that being said; parts of the book were a bit cringe to get through, especially the kitchen scene. It was like I got second hand embarrassment? I was uncomfortable and basically pushed my way through it just to get it over with.

Their "blow up" was confusing. Hazel focused on Jess being there, but then Jack broke it off and they just never even spoke about anything after that phone call? To me that was just unbelievable so I had a hard time just accepting it as it came. He never reached out post-promotion? Never told her he was going to quit and they could be together??? Idk, just didn't make sense to me really.

At the end, I appreciated the grand romantic gesture of finding her back at the resort for the turtle ceremony. It felt very them and I was a fan of the way it was wrapped up in a bow, they get their HEA and a sweet epilogue to boot. The wedding scene logistics did throw me off?
