I really enjoyed this book. Of course I just love spending time with Mia and friends, but really I think this might be my favorite one so far!

Mia Malone's catering business has been chosen to host a festival for her town which includes a beauty contest. When one of the contestants is caught up in a scandal and another drops out after her mother is killed, Mia and her coven suspect foul play. I love these characters. There has been so much growth throughout the series. I really enjoy Mia's relationship with Christina. Her relationship with Trent and Christina's with Levi has been fun to see evolve over the last few books. Gran is always fun to read about. The mystery was well done. I am looking forward to reading the next book. I received this book from Netgalley and Kensington in exchange for an honest review.

I have enjoyed all of the books in the Kitchen Witch series by Lynn Cahoon. She is one of my favorite cozy mystery writers and I know I am in for a treat when I pick up one of her books. The characters are well developed and as you travel through the pages of the books, you will develop a fondness for Mia and the rest of the characters in Magic Springs. It is also entertaining to watch the relationships develop between Mia and Trent and Christina and Levi. The mystery is always handled well and you are left guessing until the end to figure out who is guilty. Lots of clues and hints will take you on a twisting ride through the book and you will read the last word and close the book with a smile on your face. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the gang from Mia’s Morsels and Magic Springs.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I have enjoyed the Kitchen Witch series as Mia has learned to embrace and master her witchy abilities whilst holding down a demanding day job at the Lodge and building a catering business, Mia’s Morsels. Along the way she has mentored the sister of her former fiance, fallen in love and tried to help remove the warlock spirit that inhabits her familiar, Mr. Darcey. The series has been chocked full of great characters and the reader has felt deeply invested in their trials and tribulations. So this book feels like it is tying up a lot of loose ends and if this is the last one of the series, it has ended on a high note.

This time Mia is involved in a harvest festival queen contest but not just any pageant. The contestants and their mothers are all part of the coven that is trying to get Mia to join. And since they all have magical powers, the normal course of competition is heightened when someone is determined to fix the contest using some dark means. Just who is behind it and why is not revealed fully until the end and before hand all sorts of nefarious deeds are committed including murder.

All the people that Mia loves join together to solve the mystery. They all have storylines that have neat conclusions. Karma is a great leveller and it has done its job with the characters who deserve comeuppances. It is a good end to a great series. Five purrs and two paws up.

A beauty pageant that takes competition to the next level but it isn’t the girls who you have to look out for…it’s the magical moms. Mystic Springs is a little different than most towns in Idaho, and Mia is a little different than most chefs. The one thing that they both have in common is magic. The town has a coven of witches and a few not so into the coven scene, like Mia, who is a kitchen witch. The main characteristic about being a kitchen witch is being a purveyor of peace. Mia has that talent in spades at least when it comes to anything or anyone with the exception of her boss Frank at the Lodge, oh and her cheating ex-fiancé, Isaac. Mia is a great character that does a great job of following the leads, juggling job and business, making time for boyfriend Trent, and being a big sister to bff Christina. The story is engaging, the clues are good, the food descriptions are amazing and the misdirection is well staged.

Mia’s only reason for working at the Lodge is to keep her catering dream, Mia’s Morsels, alive until it can thrive on its own. One would think that getting the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant job would be a windfall and a blessing. Believe it or not, in an effort to avoid getting the contract for the pageant, Abigail, Trent’s mom, submitted an outrageous price on the opportunity to play host. No such luck, the pageant officials like that they won’t be dealing with a mortal company. There still ends up being issues, hexes that bounce back, a murder, a mystery that involves the past, and a couple of couple issues. The big payout for handling the pageant catering and location could be enough money to get Mia out from under Frank’s thumb at the Lodge. That man is out to get her for no apparent reason, causing Mia more stress than she needs. You know what is good for stress, comfort food. The best sort of comfort food is nice warm soup like the chicken soup that Mia had prepped and ready in the freezer. Incidentally, the recipe is in the back of the book so you too can have a little comfort. Another bit of comfort is learning that there will be more books to this series because there are some big changes coming up for Mia and the gang. I am looking forward to the next books in the series.

Six Stunning Sirens is the sixth cozy mystery in the Kitchen Witch Mystery series. Mi Malone has been juggling her catering business and her full time job for a while now, but when Mia’s Morsels lands a huge job she may just see the end in sight. The Harvest Moon Festival’s big beauty contest decides who the coven leader for the next year will be and Mia’s Morsels is catering the event. The payday should be worth the drama of holding the event until someone turns up dead. Suddenly Mia is tied up in another murder investigation and will stop at nothing to uncover the magical wrongdoings that are threatening her business.

I have been a fan of this series since the beginning and enjoyed getting to visit Mia and the gang again. This magical mystery was fun, fast paced and full of great characters. I really enjoyed the back story and seeing how everything in Mia’s life is playing out. It always amazes me how extreme the coven can get, but it is entertaining all the same. This is a cozy mystery series I will keep coming back to because I love the characters so much. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this series and recommend it to cozy mystery fans!

Lynn Cahoon has never disappointed and Six Stunning Sirens was the perfect read!! Loved it!

Mia, owner of Mia’s Morsels catering and cooking school, is thrilled when her business is chosen to host the fall festival event in their Idaho mountain town. The highlight of the event is a beauty contest where stage moms and their social-media-savvy daughters compete for the coveted crown, which offers a powerful position in the local coven.

However, things take a dark turn when one stage mom is found dead and another is hospitalized. The coven suspects magical interference is at play. With the competition just days away, Mia must use her sleuthing skills to uncover the truth behind these suspicious events and determine if the contest has become more dangerous than anyone imagined.

Dollycas's Thoughts

We return to Magic Springs, Idaho just in time for the Harvest Moon Festival. Mia's Morsels has been selected to host the big event including the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant. This means building a stage for the contest and dealing with the contestants and their mothers or the significant person in their lives. The winner gets a seat for a family member on the local coven council for a year, bringing in enough money to change a person's life.

The coven believes there is some magical interference when contestants quit or are forced to leave the competition. Mia decides to investigate the situation herself with just one week to go before the new queen is crowned.  Someone has cast a spell. Mia needs to find out who before anyone else gets hurt.

_____

This is such a great series filled with witches and their familiars. Mia has her hands full with the happenings at Mia's Morsels, her second job at the Lodge, and all the things happening in her daily life. Ms. Cahoon has surrounded her with a wonderful supporting cast. They become more developed with each story.

The old school where Mia and Christina live and that houses Mia's Morsels is a fascinating place with new surprises always coming to light. Hosting a festival and beauty pageant there adds to the novelty of the place. While Mia is not a member of the coven we do meet several witches that are.

The mystery was full of twists, secrets, and several suspects. The suspects are witches and that makes it all that more entertaining. It was fun to see Mia juggle and follow all the clues with a little help from her friends and grandmother, although her grandmother has a private project of her own. Mia's problem was most of the clues were based in magic so how could she give the mortal police chief the evidence he needed?

Six Stunning Sirens is a charming mystery that kept me captivated as the pages practically flew across my Kindle. Magic, mystery, and a little romance come together in a smashing paranormal culinary mystery set in a unique old building that is sure to please everyone who enjoys this genre. For me, it was A Perfect Escape.

I’ve had a rocky relationship with the Kitchen Witch series by Lynn Cahoon. While enjoying the characters, the mystery aspect, more often than not, falls a little short for me. So, I went into Six Stunning Sirens, the sixth book in the series, with some trepidation.

The Kitchen Witch series is set in a small town in Idaho with a “secret” community of magic users. Mia Malone is the main character, and we follow her as she navigates learning about her magic, building her business, and growing her relationships with those around her. And, of course, she is also a magnet for crimes to happen around her, and she can’t help but get involved in solving them.

In Six Stunning Sirens, Mia’s Morsels is chosen to host the town’s annual fall festival, which is a community event on the surface. But underneath, the festival is really all about the local coven and Mia’s Morsels is chosen because of her connection to the coven. Someone dies, and Mia, along with her friends and family, investigate while they’re hosting the event, which must go on.

As I turned the last page of the book, I had this sense of disappointment when it came to the mystery. Then I went back and all my reviews of this series and that was a constant theme. I keep coming back because I find Mia likable, the world is interesting, and I want to know how everything will evolve and grow. The mystery is just a secondary plot rather than the focus, which doesn’t get the attention it should for a mystery. The sleuthing felt like an afterthought between world and character-building scenes.

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the book and will likely continue the series. I like how Mia and Trent’s relationship is building, as well as the twist with Mia’s roommate, Christina, and I am curious about where that subplot will end up. And even the whole festival/beauty pageant plot was fun and interesting, even if the mystery around it was on the weak side.

If you want a paranormal series with likable characters, a unique setting, and a little light mystery, you should pick up Six Stunning Sirens. I suggest reading the series in order rather than jumping in with this book.

This was a delightful addition to the series, and it’s as captivating as ever! The blend of culinary charm and supernatural intrigue is perfect for fall, and I can’t wait for the next one!

Autumn is the perfect time to snuggle up with a good cozy mystery! And this one is a perfect choice!

All the things we love about October: cooler weather, crisp leaves, witches and magic, fall snacks, pumpkins. And pageants?

Well, I don't know about your small town, but mine revolves around the yearly high school pageant (ours is in November). But our local fete is a lot less magical. And not as deadly.

"Mia sipped her coffee and wondered what was wrong with people." Me too, Mia, me too.

This book is a fun, quick read from a great series. Definitely jump in anywhere! What's not to love?

Mia's Morsels will be hosting the Harvest Moon Festival and there is a lot riding on its success. Mia will have to keep in check a bunch of stage moms and their daughters who are in the beauty contest. The winning family has a lot to gain like the inside track on the covers power. When one stage mom is murdered and another ends up in the hospital Mia suspects that magic is a foot. She knows that she must figure out what is going on and who is behind it and she has a week to do it. Follow along and see if she is able to put the pieces together before someone else ends up dead.

Book Review: Six Stunning Sirens by Lynn Cahoon

Rating: 3 Stars

I just finished reading Six Stunning Sirens, the latest installment in Lynn Cahoon's delightful Kitchen Witch series, and I have to say, it was quite the charming read! This book follows Mia Malone as she gears up to cater the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant, a significant event for her catering business, Mia’s Morsels. Set against the backdrop of a cozy Idaho mountain town, this story combines the charm of a small community with a dash of magical intrigue.

Mia is excited about the opportunity to showcase her culinary talents while managing a gaggle of stage moms and their social-media-savvy daughters, all vying for a chance at the coveted title of queen. The stakes are high—winning means gaining inside access to the local coven's power, making this event even more intense. But just as the excitement builds, things take a dark turn when one of the stage moms is found dead and another is rushed to the hospital. Naturally, the coven starts to suspect that some magical mischief is at play. With the coronation just around the corner, Mia has to put on her sleuthing hat and figure out what's really going on in this cutthroat competition.

Overall, I found Six Stunning Sirens to be an entertaining addition to the series! I’ve really grown to enjoy Mia and her crew, and I've completely fallen in love with Cerby—their adorable hellhound companion. The mystery was well-constructed, keeping me guessing until the very end. Plus, the cozy setting made it easy to lose myself in the story. The pacing felt just right, with moments of tension balanced nicely against lighter scenes. And as a bonus, we even get some delicious recipes at the end!

While it didn't completely blow me away, it was still a solid read that kept me engaged from start to finish. If you’re looking for a whimsical mystery filled with magic, charming characters, and a touch of culinary flair, you might want to give this book a try!

Another charming installment in the kitchen witch series. Mia Malone, and her catering company, won the bid for the Magical Springs Harvest Queen contest. With the all the witchy pageant moms pushing their daughters and one of them using magic to hamper the competition, it's not just troublesome but dangerous. Well-plotted with interesting twists. However for full enjoyment, I would recommend reading at least some, if not all, of the earlier books And they are all worth reading.

There is a good mystery in this one, the characters grow and change (and this one in particular feels like it really does move them along in their lives), and the magic is interesting. The community and coven make for great characters and a charming setting.

This was an excellent addition to the Kitchen Witch Series!! I have grown to really enjoy Mia & Co. [and have completely fallen in love with Cerby!!] and I look forward to each new book. After a run of disappointing books, the fact that this was just so good and I didn't want to put it down to do other things just warmed my soul!!

Mia has her hands over-full in this one and her "to-do" list just seems to keep growing! With a temperamental [::ahem:: re: moronic, jealous, troublesome etc etc ::ahem::] boss on the warpath [note, Karma works V E R Y well in this one. IYKYK] and scheduling events and not telling Mia, a paranormal "beauty" pagent, that has a a history of sabotage that seems to be continuing that tradition, some serious bullying of a young, vulnerable girl and then a dead body [because, naturally], along with all the regular stuff that Mia has to daily deal with, and Mia is about to explode. It was a real treat to see how she deals with all of it, how everything comes together and how the mystery [I had NO IDEA who it was!! How GLORIOUS!!] is solved [add in Gran's special treat for Mia, and Christina's news, it makes for a really interesting ending]; it was a touch rushed IMO, but this time, it really added to the drama and I found I didn't mind it as much as I typically do.

The way the book ends kind of made me feel like this was the last book [I looked for info on if another book is forthcoming and came up empty] in the series and if that it so, it was a good ending, but I'm hoping not as this truly is one of my favorite series and I will be sad to see it end. I guess we can only wait and see.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lynn Cahoon, and Kensington Publishing/Kensington Cozies for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Six Stunning Sirens by Lynn Cahoon is her latest book in the Kitchen Witch series, following Mia Malone and her friends at Mia's Morsels. This time, Mia's is in charge of catering and hosting a Harvest Queen event, which brings out the best and the worst in all the pageant moms. When one mom ends up dead and another hospitalized, things take a sticky turn and they will have to work quick to find out who is behind it before the contest starts.
A good story, I really enjoyed it. Like always!
Thanks NetGalley

Six Stunning Sirens by Lynn Cahoon is one of my favorites in the Kitchen Witch series!
It follows Mia our budding witch as her catering company, Mia’s Morsels hosts the Miss Magic Springs Harvest Pageant. She's dealing with rival pageant mom's, and coven politics that are threatening the event. She also has some sabotage going on at her other job, The Lodge and her ex-fiance Trent is getting married too! Lots of drama to keep the story interesting.
Mia finds hidden potion bags all around the school and they end up causing the death of one of the pagent queen's mothers. She must track down who is out for blood at the event and if there is more than one culprit. Working with the local police who knows about the magic in the town, but is not involved with it, he leans on Mia for insight. Needless to say she has a lot on her plate.
There's also a final resolution to the Mr.Darcy mystery that has been going through the whole series. I really enjoyed this 6th instalment to the series!

Book #6 in the kitchen witch series. Lynn Cahoon is one of my favorite cozy authors. In the Kitchen Witch series, Mia is a caterer in a small town coven who manages to find trouble.....or does it find her? She's catering the Fall Festival which includes a beauty pageant where the mothers will do anything to make their daughters the queen. It sets the stage for several mishaps that Mia and her friends must solve before things get too far out of hand.
