What a great concept! Historical facts are shared by combining education with entertainment, namely the reason we celebrate Cinco De Mayo! Kids will relate to the fun characters and engaging fantasy - brilliant way to learn about history!

Very enjoyable and easy to read story for middle grade readers.
Great job including the Spanglish moments for the family.

Fast-paced middle grade about three cousins who time travel to 1862 Virginia, where they play a role in the Battle of Puebla. For a historical fiction title, this had more fantasy elements than I cared for, but I'm also not the target audience. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

I really enjoyed the idea of being transported back in time to tell a story. The characters were everything that I was hoping for and worked with the story-line perfectly. Emma Otheguy has a strong writing style and it worked in the children's fiction novel. I was invested in what was going on and enjoyed going on this journey with this read.
