Once again Melinda Leigh can do no wrong - I devoured this latest installment. Brought up questions about what makes a family and what is someone willing to do to make their family whole.

Another fast-paced story that builds to a climax, inciting more suspense with each twist. Just when you think there couldn’t be more, another twist hits you. It's a domino effect, one incident triggering ongoing impacts until it reaches a gruesome crescendo, 12years in the making.

In the latest book in this series, the crime hits close to home for Sheriff Bree Taggart when a teenager discovers the bodies of her parents.

All the beloved key characters feature prominently, and we get to know more about the new recruit, Renata Zucco. Is there a potential new romance on the horizon?

Fans of the series won't be disappointed!

So many secrets. Bree has to keep an open mind while investigating a double homicide that leaves a teen an orphan. The secrets uncovered will shock even Bree. This entry into the series is a twisted series of curious events that lead to a shocking finale. A fantastic addition to the series.

Claire Mason arrives home from work one night to find her parents murdered in their bed. Sheriff Bree Taggart begins the investigation and is determined to keep Claire and the rest of the town safe and find the murderer. When someone attempts to abduct Claire from the park and the lives of murdered couple come under scrutiny, the police soon realize there were a lot of lies and deception and the sheriff's list of suspects expand.

This was a really easy-to-read murder mystery. With only 315 pages, I was pleasantly surprised how many twists and turns the plot took and kept me guessing about the killer up until the very end. The characters were fun and made me want to go read the other Bree Taggart books to get to know the origin of their backstories.

*** I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. ***

What a story, it had my heart rate going with its intense intrigue and thrilling factor. It was a race that I didn’t expect the outcome, although, I had my suspicion. Melinda Leigh never fails to entertain. Bree and Max got hoodwinked, I never thought I would see that happen, but they prevailed.

This is another enjoyable chapter in the Bree Taggert Series! Reading these books has become like visiting with old friends, and we enjoy seeing the characters grow and develop. This one had two twists I didn't see coming, one with a returning character and the other in the story. 4.5 stars

I received an ARC for free and gave my honest opinion voluntarily.

I absolutely love Melinda Leigh's books. They keep you in suspense until the very end. The characters in this series are so relatable especially if you are in a law enforcement family. Highly recommend her entire series of books.

This book was addictive. As a fan of this series, I had a really good time with this one. We continue on this journey with Bree as she works to solve a crime that affects one of her nephews classmates. This story has so many twists and turns and kept me on my toes constantly. I never wanted to put this book down, but when I did, I was counting down the moments until I could pick it back up. I loved the addition to the main cast of characters and how they contributed to the story as a whole. I highly recommend reading this series if you have not already started it.

Another amazing read in my top favorite series!

I am not really a fan of book series but Melinda Leigh, via Bree Taggert, has pulled me in and keeps me coming back for more. I am always fascinated by the storyline and the journey to solve the mystery. And I never win at the guessing game because this author always throws in a twist or two that I didn’t see coming. When you add in the creation of characters that feel real, think real, and act real, which Bree, Matt and their family and cohorts do, I’m not going anywhere.

'Track Her Down' is another great addition to the Bree Taggert series that keeps you hooked from the beginning. Melinda Leigh does a great job of building tension, although some of the plot twists are a bit predictable if you're familiar with her work, but the story is still engaging. The characters have emotional depth, which makes it a good read. If you like action and drama, this one's worth checking out.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy.

It’s no secret that I love Melinda Leigh’s Bree Taggert series. I will always jump at the chance to read the next book early, and I’m so glad I caught this one. It was another great addition to the series.

Bree and Matt are on the case of a double homicide with a litany of plausible suspects. Oh, and there are also reports of number of exotic animals popping up around town to keep things interesting. It’s a race against time again for Bree and her team to find their killer before someone else gets caught in the crossfire. Full of twists and turns and feeling like no one can be trusted, the team works together — and gets some assists from an unlikely source — to take down the threat.

The book kept me guessing as usual and entertained on the ride. I can’t share the part that I couldn’t fully get behind without it being a spoiler, but overall this was another hit for Melinda Leigh.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Claire comes home from her job to find her parents brutally killed in their bed. Inspecting the house, Sheriff Bree Taggert and her partner find go bags in the attic. Claire appears to have no friends or relatives so placing her in a foster home is necessary until someone is chasing her and she needs protection also. Great characters and lots of twists and turns which make for a wonderful and suspenseful story.

A big thank you to Net Galley for sending me an arc of this story. I always enjoy reading about Bree Taggert, her adopted family, her boyfriend, her helpful deputies and a good dollop of suspense.

I am not sure why this story did not grab me from the get-go. Or keep me on the edge of my chair as I read it. I had to wait until the end to discover the motive, but I knew the killer once the person was introduced.

I was hoping for more between Bree and K-9 handler Matt Flynn, but their relationship just puttered along. It seemed as though Dana, Kayla and Luke were placed on the back burner. And the actual crime was just strange.

I hope this is a problem with me and when I revisit Bree in future stories, the pacing and action will be back to normal.

Barely 3 stars.

For Sherriff Bree Taggert, a brutal double murder brings back bad memories of her past when she gets a call that a teenager found her parents dead when she got home from work. Bree teams up with investigator Matt Flynn to try to figure out the twists in a complicated case that seems to make more questions than answers. With time running out, Claire, the teenage daughter of the murdered adults is targeted by the killer and if Bree, Matt and the rest of the Sherriff’s office can’t figure out what the past has in common with the crime, Claire will be gone and possibly dead.

TRACK HER DOWN is one wild ride from start to finish. With tight writing, captivating characters and a mystery that seems to have so many twists and turns the reader is on the edge of their seat trying to figure out what just happened and why. I have loved Melinda Leigh’s books since I discovered her a few years ago in her Morgan Dane books.

For Sherriff Bree Taggert, this case brings up memories of her parent’s murder-suicide and she empathizes with the teenager, Claire Mason, and tries to help her get answers even as the case makes so many questions as they investigate that Bree and Matt have no idea what is going on or why the Mason’s were targeted. The characters are what makes this series so good. With each book, they grow and evolve. This makes reading these books in the series so enjoyable. I love how the author knows her characters so well, she lets them all shine, regardless of if they are the MC’s or secondary ones. All deliver fine performances in TRACK HER DOWN.

The latest installment in the Bree Taggert series is an entertaining and enjoyable whodunit that kept me glued to the pages till the very end. I didn’t even know who the killer was until that last chapter and even then, I was shocked by who it was. I love books that keep me guessing till the end and this one had just enough red herrings to keep me guessing alongside the characters. Ms. Leigh is a fabulous storyteller and in TRACK HER DOWN she delivers a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and cheering when the final reveal of who was the bad guy(s). I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Bree and the gang in upcoming books, I just hope we don’t have to wait too long for it.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

It amazes me when reading a series of books that the authors do not run out of storylines, but in the Bree Taggart series Melinda Leigh still keeps the stories fresh and unique.
In this, the 9th in the series, Bree has to investigate the brutal murder of Josh and Shelly Mason. Found by their teenage daughter Claire shot in their own bed. After checking records and finances the couple appear to not be as squeaky clean as first suspected causing Bree and the team to wonder how many people could possibly want the couple dead.
I love this series, how hard Bree tries to keep her work/homelife balance right. She has a great relationship with her colleagues and I love how Melinda slowly brings new characters to the forefront in each novel.
I'm grateful to Netgalley and Montlake publishers fir this advanced copy, I will leave my review now on Goodreads, storygraph and Bookmory and on Amazon on publication day

I wish I could have waited to hear this in audio but such is the life when you're in a thriller challenge and you have the ARC and you just can't wait any longer.

THAT was an ORDEAL. A wild ride, much enjoyed. I think I have now read everything Melinda Leigh has written.

This is the second book in the Bree Taggert series I have read through Netgalley and I am so glad I did.

I enjoyed it just as much as the previous one I read last year. The main characters always shine through but the way Melinda writes in new characters is always interesting. The plot started off as a pretty simple one but before I could even start guessing the ending the plot had twists and turns that shocked me every time. I could not have guessed the ending no matter how hard I tried but it was perfect for anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

This was my first read of a book quite like this one. It was such an easy flowing read. Usually when I've read third person point of view writing in the past, it can take a second to catch on to the rhythm of it. I didn't have that problem at all this time. How Melinda structured her writing, it kinda gave a birds eye view of the entire scene. Not just focussing solely on one character.
I found the events of the mysteries a little predictable at times, hazards of watching too many crime shows, however the final twist was actually shocking. Did not see that one coming at all.
Overall, a solid, enjoyable, good read.

I absolutely LOVE this series.

Bree is a badass Sheriff who doesn’t hesitate to go after the bad guys. She is strong yes isn’t afraid to show her soft side either.
Matt is amazing in all ways but especially for his love of animals and how he always had Bree’s back.

There is so much to love about this series. Don’t lose out by not reading Melinda Leigh.

Can not wait for what’s next.
