For Sherriff Bree Taggert, a brutal double murder brings back bad memories of her past when she gets a call that a teenager found her parents dead when she got home from work. Bree teams up with investigator Matt Flynn to try to figure out the twists in a complicated case that seems to make more questions than answers. With time running out, Claire, the teenage daughter of the murdered adults is targeted by the killer and if Bree, Matt and the rest of the Sherriff’s office can’t figure out what the past has in common with the crime, Claire will be gone and possibly dead.

TRACK HER DOWN is one wild ride from start to finish. With tight writing, captivating characters and a mystery that seems to have so many twists and turns the reader is on the edge of their seat trying to figure out what just happened and why. I have loved Melinda Leigh’s books since I discovered her a few years ago in her Morgan Dane books.

For Sherriff Bree Taggert, this case brings up memories of her parent’s murder-suicide and she empathizes with the teenager, Claire Mason, and tries to help her get answers even as the case makes so many questions as they investigate that Bree and Matt have no idea what is going on or why the Mason’s were targeted. The characters are what makes this series so good. With each book, they grow and evolve. This makes reading these books in the series so enjoyable. I love how the author knows her characters so well, she lets them all shine, regardless of if they are the MC’s or secondary ones. All deliver fine performances in TRACK HER DOWN.

The latest installment in the Bree Taggert series is an entertaining and enjoyable whodunit that kept me glued to the pages till the very end. I didn’t even know who the killer was until that last chapter and even then, I was shocked by who it was. I love books that keep me guessing till the end and this one had just enough red herrings to keep me guessing alongside the characters. Ms. Leigh is a fabulous storyteller and in TRACK HER DOWN she delivers a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and cheering when the final reveal of who was the bad guy(s). I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Bree and the gang in upcoming books, I just hope we don’t have to wait too long for it.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

It amazes me when reading a series of books that the authors do not run out of storylines, but in the Bree Taggart series Melinda Leigh still keeps the stories fresh and unique.
In this, the 9th in the series, Bree has to investigate the brutal murder of Josh and Shelly Mason. Found by their teenage daughter Claire shot in their own bed. After checking records and finances the couple appear to not be as squeaky clean as first suspected causing Bree and the team to wonder how many people could possibly want the couple dead.
I love this series, how hard Bree tries to keep her work/homelife balance right. She has a great relationship with her colleagues and I love how Melinda slowly brings new characters to the forefront in each novel.
I'm grateful to Netgalley and Montlake publishers fir this advanced copy, I will leave my review now on Goodreads, storygraph and Bookmory and on Amazon on publication day

I wish I could have waited to hear this in audio but such is the life when you're in a thriller challenge and you have the ARC and you just can't wait any longer.

THAT was an ORDEAL. A wild ride, much enjoyed. I think I have now read everything Melinda Leigh has written.

This is the second book in the Bree Taggert series I have read through Netgalley and I am so glad I did.

I enjoyed it just as much as the previous one I read last year. The main characters always shine through but the way Melinda writes in new characters is always interesting. The plot started off as a pretty simple one but before I could even start guessing the ending the plot had twists and turns that shocked me every time. I could not have guessed the ending no matter how hard I tried but it was perfect for anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

This was my first read of a book quite like this one. It was such an easy flowing read. Usually when I've read third person point of view writing in the past, it can take a second to catch on to the rhythm of it. I didn't have that problem at all this time. How Melinda structured her writing, it kinda gave a birds eye view of the entire scene. Not just focussing solely on one character.
I found the events of the mysteries a little predictable at times, hazards of watching too many crime shows, however the final twist was actually shocking. Did not see that one coming at all.
Overall, a solid, enjoyable, good read.

I absolutely LOVE this series.

Bree is a badass Sheriff who doesn’t hesitate to go after the bad guys. She is strong yes isn’t afraid to show her soft side either.
Matt is amazing in all ways but especially for his love of animals and how he always had Bree’s back.

There is so much to love about this series. Don’t lose out by not reading Melinda Leigh.

Can not wait for what’s next.

Love the Bree Taggert series and this one doesn't disappoint! Bree arrives to a crime scene of tragic proportions, with two parents killed and their daughter the sole survivor.

There are lots of twists and turns, with an surprising ending. Another great story of Bree and her family, can't wait for the next one!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

Melinda Leigh slays. In a mystery way, of course. But- wow…just when a reader wonders if a new book can produce new ideas, she does it. This one had a plot twist I didn’t see coming. It made the book even better. Too often, mystery writers attempt a plot twist that is poorly executed, but Leigh did it with perfect skill.

Great book. As always, I’m looking forward to the next.

Track Her Down is the 10th book in the Bree Taggert series by Melinda Leigh. The book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in order.

Bree is called to the scene of a double homicide; the parents of a 17-year-old girl have been shot to death in their beds. Bree tries to investigate while also keeoing Claire, the traumatized daughter, safe. This story had lots of twists and turns, and I did not expect the twist at the end.

I really enjoy this series, and I look forward to the next installment! Thanks to the publisher, the author, and Netgalley for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I have been a long-time fan of Melinda Leigh, and particularly the Bree Taggert series, for many years and this newest installment definitely didn't disappoint! Track Her Down follows Sheriff Taggert as she investigates a double homicide that had so many unexpected layers piled on as the search continued for the killer - kidnapping, fraud, false identity, murder... this book has it all! This is not a series you need to read from the beginning to fully understand what is going on, which I love, but I highly recommend starting from the beginning because it's a series you don't want to miss.

There were a few minor discrepancies I saw throughout the book that contradicted itself, but I know that they will be caught and fixed before official publication day, so no stars were docked for those. I can't wait for the next installment in the Bree Taggert series!

Thank you for the opportunity to read Track her Down by Melissa Leigh
Book 9 was good
I do love Bree and Matt.
This was a double murder leading to many questions about the couple. Leaving behind a daughter, who knew nothing... DUN DUN DUN... WRONG!

In the newest addition to the Bree Taggart series, TRACK HER DOWN, Melinda Leigh gives us a twisted tale of greed, murder, and, surprisingly, illegal exotic animals.

When a teen girl finds her parent brutally murdered, Bree and her team begin an investigation that takes them on a wild path of fraud, lies, and conspiracies.

Who killed the parents? Why were they killed? What is the truth about them and their daughter? Their neighbors lived next to them for 12 years and yet knew nothing about them.

Added to this murder investigation, Bree has to figure out why alligators and wolf cubs are showing up in town, abandoned. Is someone selling them? And why are they being set free?

Two unrelated cases that take her away from the family she so adores.

Or…are they unrelated?

Leigh is a master of the twist and turn so you’ll be wondering the same thing.
Thanks to Netgalley and the author for a sneak peek. This one’s a goodie. 4 stars from me.

This latest book; number 9 in the Bree Taggert series, seemed slightly more enjoyable, I enjoyed the further insight into her family life, and relationship developing with both the children and her partner. The main case they are working is well written and Melinda Leigh is a master of her craft, knowing how to keep readers hooked into the story.

I found Melinda Leigh when I was in a reading rut after reading through all of Laura Griffin's books. I have fallen for Bree Taggert and her non-traditional family, which include her niece, nephew, her former police partner/friend, and now Matt Flynn. I will return again and again to this lovely dynamic. and in this installment Bree responds to a 911 call when a teenage girl returns home and finds her parents murdered. There is so much deceit, twists and turns, and dangerous near misses. As Bree and Matt try to juggling parenting, their jobs, and the increasingly complicate case, you can't help but love this duo more. My only sadness it that I now have to wait for what feels like forever to read Melinda Leigh's next!

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Bree is investigating a murder in her small town. When other things start happening, she has to dig into the family's past to find the answers she needs. A good read.

Bree Taggert book #9 by Melinda Leigh. Don't worry you can read stand alone but do yourself a favor and get 1 through 8 too! It won't spoil anything toveead it out of order.
Sheriff Bree Taggert is called to a double murder leaving the teenage, Clair without family. However, the killer isn't finished and they must keep Clair safe while trying to figure out the secrets her parents kept hidden.
Excellent as always. You can count on Melinda Leigh to tell a story of a strong lead character. We Love Bree! Also a great love interest to follow with her investigator Matt Flynn, the family she created with her niece and nephew and the constant new fresh mystery material, and strong characters with good ethics.
