Firstly, thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book early, with a release date of November 2024. You are going to want this book for your tbr. Jewel wrote an exceptional book; you will love all the characters and the uniqueness that it brings to this new world.

Jaymes loves the colour yellow, skateboards and loves to help people. Her empathetic nature is perfect in her field as a travel nurse. She was homeschooled so she's a world full of knowledge and loves baking. Fate brought her to meet Calvin, and she was immediately drawn to him. She just had to figure out how to navigate what it was that she was feeling.

Calvin was a beautiful man, a character that had lots of development as the book progressed. (He also gave me a teeny bit of Fisher Mann vibes) He too was homeschooled and had a loyal heart that placed him in the field of Firefighting. He was consistent with his life plans until Jaymes crashed into it. What he knew for certain was no longer what he desired. He was a character that came with lots of pain and suffering so watching him open up was beautiful.

This book brings a touch of forbidden, age gap, angst, pain, friendship and trust. It also brings the matter of fate, love and trying to figure out who you are. It has shared POV, was beautifully written and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

In true JEA fashion, she had me glued to the pages from beginning to end. This beautiful romance story will make you laugh out loud at the couple's witty banter, and shed many tears over their anguishing journey to get to their HEA. I fell in love with this couple - they are grumpy/sunshine personified - and all of the side characters we met along the way. Fans of JEA's "One" will love this story!!! Just dive in blind and enjoy the bumpy ride!! BRAVO JEA once again!

I felt that the beginning, and ending were too predictable based on other books that I've already read. I don't like the idea that a woman would move to a totally new environment to live with men, and not do enough homework on where she is going even in fiction.

Pure magic! 5 Incredible Stars

Jewel you say, Netgalley you say, ARC out early you say,HELL YEAH!!!!!

I just gotta say by chapter 6 I'm smiling like a loon and getting Scarlett Stone fibes, with the banter. Loving this story with every chapter I read. I have a feeling this book is going to leave me with one hell of a hangover.

Aaahhhhh Calvin, I love him, Can I have him???? He is so funny, such a straight shooter, completely fell in love with his chapters.

Jaymes is a strong female lead I love that about her. She was funny, quick witted just a great character to read.

It always hits me when I'm reading Jewel, "Oh shit I should be looking for clues" "Paying closer attention" . But always hits me too late. I'm left with why didn't I see that how did that pass by me.
Then you reach that one chapter, where all hell breaks loose and I'm literally yelling at my book " Get out no way"!!!!!

Melissa, Will, Maren, Evette and God I love Gary amazing support characters for Jamie and Calvin.

The story is amazing, fresh, entertaining as hell, touching, again tears were shed. I highly recommend this book.

I’m unsure if I despise Calvin Fitzgerald or if he’s officially my newest obsession.

From Air releases on November 26, and first of all, I just want to say that it's no surprise that Jewel brings the angst with her books, and this one is no exception.

*Jaymes Andrews is a traveling nurse after her mom passed away, and her first job is in Missoula, Montana. She finds a place to stay with three other roommates, one of them being grumpy Calvin Fitzgerald.

When I figured out the plot twist I'm pretty sure I sat up in bed like a corpse rising from the dead, eyes wide 🤣 I kept trying to figure it out! The flow of this book was so good. The chemistry and sexual tension, and stolen moments between Calvin and Jamie… LOVE 😍

I absolutely loved this book, so much that I want to read it again right now 😍 Make sure you add this one to your tbr so you don't miss out!

Wow! I love Fitz and Jaymes. These are two characters that seemed like they were made to find each other. I love how Jewel Anne just catches you and invests the reader in the story right from the beginning, and then you hang on tight until end! I would have used for a longer burn in the beginning, but being a die-hard Jewel Ann fan, it doesn’t really matter. Her books always give me all the feels.

I have read several books by Jewel E. Ann and every sing one has moved me. From Air brought me everything I expected from her books, including the day after book hangover where I'm just repeating it all in my mind. I loved watching Calvin and Jaymes' story develop, a push and pull of attraction and resistance that ends up in heartbreak where I least expected it from. No more details because part of the fun (and angst) is seeing it all unravel with no preconceived notions. Beautiful characters dealing with terrible circumstances that you will root for until the end.

This was a really different storyline but I loved it! Roommates that constantly pester the other one just for fun. There is one rule don’t sleep with one of your roommates, but who knew that would be the hardest thing not to do? The character are easy to love and you will soon discover there is a sad history that connects two people. Will something good come of them discovering who they are? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

📚From Air by Jewel E Ann
📕ARC Review(Copy gifted by @montlake via @netgalley)
🚨While reviewed copy is gifted, opinions are always my own.
Status: Available November 26th, will be KU

🥰Enjoyment: From a found family perspective I enjoyed this one immensely. From the plot perspective I also found it quite interesting (though if you work in the medical field, prepare to suspend disbelief), though the pacing to get there threw me. It was almost like two books that got edited down to one (since this author has written several duets, I honestly would not be shocked if you told me that’s exactly what happened). That said in the squishery, I feel like the actual “this is what our love is based on” aspects of the story were lost. I felt like the FMC saw this guy, heard he was grumpy and decided to annoy the shit out of him until they called it love. And then when we finally got him on board it made no sense that he skipped all the letters of the alphabet and went straight from A to Z.

Despite this more critical opinion, I also recognize that this is going to be some folks JAM. And that’s totally fine, I hope you love it, for me it just had a “that was fine” vibe by the time I ended it.

4,5 ⭐ What a wonderful, funny, and sad story! I think only Jewel E. Ann can combine drama and rom-com so masterfully. The banter in the book is awesome! I was giggling most of the time, but by the end, my heart was aching with emotions. I fell in love with these characters, especially Fitz. It was so interesting to watch him change and open his heart to love❤️‍🩹
“Jaymes, if I were normal, I’d love you enough. The problem is, I’m not normal, so I’d love you too much.”
This story is worth your attention. Highly recommend it! I can't wait for books about other characters.

“From Air” written by Jewel E.Ann follows Jamie Andrews who moves into a house with a bunch of firefighters out in the wilds of Montana, things get interesting right away. These guys live on the edge, always rushing into danger fuelled by duty and the thrill of it all. Jamie, being a psychiatric nurse, finds herself fascinated by their fearlessness, especially Calvin, a mysterious smoke jumper who's older than her. She enjoys teasing him, trying to figure him out. Surprisingly, Calvin doesn't back down from her playful challenges. As they grow closer, they have to keep their budding romance under wraps. Jamie gets more and more curious about Calvin's secretive side, which he stubbornly keeps to himself. Their journey together gets twisty, putting Jamie's determination to the test.

This book immediately pulled me in. The playful banter between Jamie and Fitz was a delight, keeping me entertained from start to finish. Fitz initially came off as abrasive, but as you uncover more about him, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading, you start to empathise with his character. Jamie, despite facing hardships, radiates kindness and positivity throughout the story. Their relationship develops naturally over the course of a year, avoiding the cliché of instant love and allowing for genuine character growth, complemented by unexpected plot twists that kept me engaged.

However, some discussions around mental health in this book felt a bit off, and there were sections where the story sort of lost momentum. The ending brought surprises that left me feeling a bit rushed and longing for more closure. While Fitz's behaviour could be frustrating at times, the authentic chemistry between him and Jamie managed to stay.

Overall, "From Air" is a touching read. The writing style captured my attention, and the supporting characters added richness to the narrative. Although I encountered a few issues, the emotional depth and character development managed to make it a solid read.

This was my first Jewel E Ann book and it took me on an emotional rollercoaster! From Air is the first standalone book in the Wildfire series and it is a beautiful story about finding your person.

It follows the story of Jamie, a travelling nurse whose new roommates are firefighters. She is instantly drawn to Calvin, a grumpy smoke jumper, who has sworn off marriage and children due to his mysterious past. I adored the banter between Jamie and Calvin, which was absolutely hilarious, but I also loved the real conversations and emotional revelations that had me sobbing.

This may have been my first book by Jewel E Ann but it certainly won't be my last!

A really good dual POV read. Some solid tropes:

- Age gap
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Fireman/hero
- Finding ‘the one’
- Found family

There is plenty to the plot to keep you hooked and the writing style is lovely. Definitely recommend

A special thanks to NetGalley and Jewel E. Ann for this ARC copy. My opinion is below.

Pub Date: Nov 26 2024

TLDR Thoughts:
-Hilarious banter
-✨Mrs.Wilke✨ was an unpaid actor
-Amazing supporting characters, I’d love to read their stories

Jewel just has a way with hilarious banter and unexpected but magnetic attraction between her characters. The banter between Fitz and Jaymes was so unhinged and I loved every single moment of it. ✨Mrs.Wilke✨ is an unpaid and underrated character in this story. 🤭🤣

I hope to read Will and Maren's stories, I grew to love them deeply throughout this book.

For those who work/have worked in healthcare: This book will make your HIPAA heart cry. ❤️‍🩹

Fitz's character was slightly frustrating. I wasn't expecting to like him but by the end of the book I did grow to love him with Jaymes.

✨ PRINCEMAN REVIEW ✨

📝 After Jaime's mom dies, she decides to see the country. Thankfully her job as a traveling nurse helps her accomplish this. Her first stop is in rural Montana. There, she becomes roommates with three firefighters. Montana may have more to offer than just giant snowstorms...one being a parachuting, grumpy, closed-off roommate. Can she help Fitz heal his past hurts, or is this just a temporary situationship?

What I 🤍:
💔 Broken People
🪂 Wildfire Firefighter
🩺 Psychiatric Nurse
☀️ Grumpy X Sunshine
💕 Age Gap (10 Years)
💙 MY PERSON
🏠 Found Family
🌀 Plot Twists
📅 Plot Timeframe (A Yearish)

This book was EVERYTHING. It had amazing character development, the BEST BANTER I've ever read between the MCs, swoon worthy moments, AND all the feels. Right away, I was sucked in as Jaime and Fitz verbally battled it out being new roommates. 😂 Fitz was a jerk for a while, but as you peeled back the layers, you realize WHY he is the way he is. Jamie has also had her hardships, mainly being that everyone in her family has died, yet she still manages to be this bright and sweet human. I loved how without planning it, they became each other's person. It's the whole 'he/she is mine' without being all possessive.

Prince's Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Passion: 🔥🔥🔥 (Several Fade to Black)
Read If ➡️: You love emotional romances, with lots to the plot.
📍 Montanta
Read 📅: Wintertime!
CW ⚠️: Death of Loved Ones, Mental Health

One aspect of this story that hooked me was the pacing. This story starts in the winter, and really takes place over a year. In that time, you see huge character growth, and it allows time to have everyone figure out what they really need/want. So many times books are INSTA LUST and then bam married. This one isn't like that. You get lots of additional plot points, and you feel like you learn with the character. So many times I was in tears and shocked, but I finished reading this sad it was over. This book is a masterpiece.

Here are some of my favorite quote ⬇️:

"'None of it makes sense.' He blows out a long breath. 'Yet here I am. Fumbling my words and wallowing around outside my comfort zone because I made you my person, and you don't fit in my life, but my life no longer fits me without you.'" ~Fitz (Chapter 26)

🙏 Thank you so much to Jewel E Ann, Montlake Publishing and Netgalley for an advanced early copy.

This book is a solid 3.5!!! I’d even bump it to a 4 if the beginning didn’t feel so rushed to me. However, that’s a personal preference for a book, not necessarily a fault of the book!
There were twists and turns in this book I did not expect. The topics of trauma and grief were great but I wish I got a little more of the psych nurse aspect that Jaymes brings to this!!! The last fourth of this book was immaculate; I could feel the main characters burn for each other!!! Heartbreaking and heart-mending. Can’t wait for more!!!

This book will set your heart on fire! Jewel E Ann has done it again! She is the queen of taking your heart and twisting it to the breaking point and putting it back together. Jamie and Fitz are two of my favorites now! Jamie moves from Miami to Montana to spread her wings and travel after her mother’s death two years prior. She is a travel psychiatric nurse. She moves into Will’s house with two other firefighters. She fixates on Fitz. He is broken according to Will and Maren. He is anti-love, anti-relationships, and anti-fatherhood. Jamie is the sunshine to his grumpy. She is everything Fitz is not. The banter between Fitz and Jamie is epic! On her journey, she discovers more than she wants to know about herself. Will it doom her relationship with the hotshot fire jumper? Or will they both go down in flames? Get ready because Jewel is on fire with this one! Best read of 2024 so far! 5 amazing stars

From Air by Jewel E. Ann is the beginning of a new series called Wildfire, published by Montlake. Ann's unique blend of romance, adventure, and skillful character development make this a must-read for those who love a good story!

When Jaymes Lanette Andrews, 25, moves from Miami, Flordia to Missoula, Montana, and goes from being an ER nurse to being a psychiatric travel nurse working at a mental health clinic in Missoula and living with three roommates, all firefighters, Will Landry, Calvin David Fitzgerald, and Maren. Will, 37, is an engine chief, Maran is an air tanker pilot, and Fitz, 35, is a smoke jumper, the guy who jumps out of a very stable plane, parachuting into remote areas to suppress fires; he is also a grumpy enigma who fascinates Jamie. Their mutual attraction is undeniable, and when sparks fly, and things smolder, it's only a matter of time before you're engulfed in a story that will blow your mind with unexpected twists!

"Death is the bane of my existence. Not you. You're an illusion." This cryptic quote from the book sets the tone for the complex relationship between the characters, inviting you to delve deeper into their world.
Do you believe in fate? What about coincidences? Do you think everything happens for a reason? And that people come into your life when you need them the most or are most open to when they have to teach you.

What are you waiting for if you have never read Jewel E. Ann? The woman is a genius with a pen; whatever she writes, I read. Yes, without a doubt, she is my go-to author. I try to avoid reading the blurb or finding out the story; sometimes, it's best to go in cold and see if it resonates with you.

From Air was truly a remarkable love story! Jewel E. Ann has a way of writing eccentric characters that just sucks you right in to the story. I highly recommend this book, it was everything. There was humor, there was heart, and there was redemption. I fell in love with Calvin and Jaymes. I loved the way they banter, I loved how she was determined to break through his shell. Calvin was this enigma that would give others breadcrumbs of his life. I knew there was going to be a twist, and man it was shocking. There were other revelations that was a major turning point and you knew it was going to heartbreaking for Calvin and Jaymes. My heart ached for both Calvin and Jaymes but Jewel E. Ann wrote it so well that it softened the heartache. The friendships that were formed was a great aspect of this book as well. I can't stop raving about this book, it was phenomenal.
