Jewel E Ann out did herself… again. She’s one of my auto-buy authors, so I was super excited to get my hands on this ARC! She writes such emotionally gripping stories with complex characters and beautiful happy endings. I laughed, I cried, and felt every emotion in between. I HIGHLY recommend adding this book to your TBR!

It is a good romace. It's well written, the characters are likable and you get attached to them. But it doesn't add much to the genre: the love story is OK but not groundbreaking. There is no angst or big emotions.

From Air is a great read that had some darker depths in it that I wasn’t expecting.
When Jamie a travel psychiatric nurse obtains a temporary post she rents a room in a house with three others, she soon settles in enjoying their company, Calvin, that the other two have warned her is a cold fish is taciturn and sarcastic but Jamie can give as good as she gets and enjoys winding him up.
Both have had difficult tragic pasts especially Calvin but he has never disclosed it in the three years he’s been living there. These are all great characters and there is much humour between them.
As Calvin and Jamie become closer their worlds collide in an unimaginable and devastating way. At times I could feel my heart pounding with the shocking revelations.
A well written descriptive love story that keeps it in your grip throughout.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Wow, one of my top books of the year if not all time. I immediately want to read it again. I am almost upset I read this so early because I have no one to talk about this with!!!

Jewel E Ann has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The way this book starts as such a seemingly light (yet angsty) romance about a fire fighter and his new roommate but becomes so much more. I’ve never read such incredible snarky banter, sarcasm and HIGH chemistry. This was weaved into such an incredibly complex, beautiful story that made me smile and cry all at once. It was paced perfectly from beginning to end and I’m honestly sad it’s over. More of this series please!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

This was a five stars read for me. I loved my time reading this book.
Jaymes mad this book five stars. I adore her. She is eveything. I love the funny bannter. The chemestry between them is off the charts, but...
I am not 100% Fitz fan. Why?!
Jaymes deserves the world and he is not that guy.
He wait two freaking days to go to her when she was attacked. He didn't know what happened, and still he waited...
That broke my heart.
For me Will stole the show, with his lines:

But she wasn’t wearing her shoes by then, so I carried them inside, and she barely made it up the porch steps because I showed her that any guy could carry her shoes. When all this time, she dreamed of you carrying her shoes down some boardwalk after spending the night with her on a boat.”

And then:

“ But last night, I caught a tiny glimpse of what you let go. I didn’t see my old roommate. I saw a woman who loves you. And all I could think was how I’d give my whole fucking life to find my own Jaymes Andrews. I’d give my whole fucking life to be the guy who carries her shoes and makes all her dreams come true.”

And for the kill:

“It’s time, buddy. Go bring our girl home, or else I will burn down the shed, kick your ass to the curb, and put a ring on her finger myself.”

Swon...
I am hoping for Will's book.

What a complicated, complexly layered story! I’ve said this before but have rarely meant it as much as I do now but to say anything about this book would give it away. I loathe spoilers so I’ll say I adore Fitz! Jewel writes some of the very best heroes but I absolutely fell in love with Jamie and that’s where Jewel truly shines. She creates such beautiful heroines! Jamie is the heart and soul of From Air and I can’t to see more of these two in the series.

I always look forward to Jewel’s books. She never disappoints. From Air is full of clever banter between
All characters, but especially between Fitz and Jamie.
Jamie is a traveling psychiatrist nurse who takes a job in
Montana and her temporary home includes the grumpy
Fitz as a roommate. Fitz is a fire jumper and wants no relationships but despite that they quickly form a very close bond.
Rules of the house no fooling around. Jamie moves on
To another job in California but can’t leave her feelings for Fitz behind. She meets Dwight who’s a patient of hers at the new hospital who she feels an instant kind of kinship with. As always there is a twist which always rips your heart out. I love this book couldn’t put it down.

Jamie Andrews moves across the country for her first travel nursing job and moves into a house with three roommates, one of which is a moody, fascinating smoke jumper named Calvin Fitzgerald that immediately catches her attention. No synopsis can adequately prepare you for the emotional rollercoaster this book takes you on and I definitely don’t want to spoil the ride!

Did I stay up over two hours past my normal bedtime to finish this book? Yep, you bet I did. Jewel E. Ann has a way of writing characters that just sucks me in and makes me CARE so much. I’m sure I could get technical with my review and point out situations within where I had to suspend my belief a bit and not compare it to real life… but that’s the beauty of fiction. It doesn’t have to perfectly mimic reality.

I loved the witty, sarcastic banter. The heartfelt confessions, the heart wrenching revelations. Jewel E. Ann has a forever fan with me and I think From Air is one of my favorite books that she’s ever written!

A gigantic thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read an early copy.

A touching portrayal of love, hope and resilience! The writing in this emotional contemporary romance is poignant and evocative, weaving together heartache and hope with skillful prose. Each page unfolds with raw emotion, capturing the complexities of relationships and the power of love. I loved this book.

This might be one of the few Jewel E. Ann books that didn’t have me sobbing and I’ll take it while it lasts. 😂

From Air is such a beautiful tale of love and finding your ‘person’. The slow build relationship between between Jamie and Calvin was a beautiful thing to see unfold. I feel like the grumpy/sunshine trope applies here a little bit even though Calvin does defrost for her quite quickly, much to his chagrin in the beginning.

Even though I wasn’t sobbing it is Jewel E. Ann which means it was still a very emotional read but in such a good way. The writing was fantastic as always. This is dual pov which I sometimes have issues with but I loved both Jamie and Calvin so much and it was much needed and nice to see everything from both perspectives.

I did not want to put this book down. I blew through it in two days and it only took that amount of time because a girl has to sleep at some point.

Suffice it to say, I loved this book. It was a beautiful love story that had me flipping (or clicking on my kindle) pages almost non stop. It’s full of love, hope, sadness, healing, and all the angsty goodness this author is known for.

I hope we get to see more from this crew in the future because while Jamie and Calvin were the focus of the story they were not the only stars of the show. I loved both of the other roommates and I do hope we get to see them or other characters in future books. From Air one hundred percent gets my recommendation.

Reasons to read:
- It’s Jewel E. Ann (If that’s not reason enough it should be lol)
- Grumpy Sunshine trope
- My person trope
- Beautiful writing
- Angsty
- Page turner
- Hot first responders

What an absolute delight was to read this book. I was hooked from the very start that I’ve experienced so many times reading Jewel’s books. I was immersed in the story with these complicated and interesting characters. Small town & tight community vibes are always a big plus for me. But the banter between these two main characters, Fitz & Jamie, was one of the best. The humor had me cackling out loud so many times.
As someone who read Jewel’s book I know there is that part when she slays with all the emotions and this one wasn’t an exception. It was poignant and intricate and complex. Fast paced. The chemistry was absolutely outstanding. There was tension and heartache, vulnerability, grief and healing. I’d say a perfect balance from what I look for in a romance story.

A beautifully written story about a broken man who deemed himself not capable of loving and a gentle soul who suffered herself a lot but managed to crash the walls he built around his heart with so much love.

• Small town
• Smoke jumper MC
• travelling nurse FMC
• roommates
• enemies to lovers
• age gap
• forbidden/secret relationship
• banter
• steamy

I don’t know how Jewel E Ann does it, but it seems as though every story she writes is better than the previous one. Her characters and story lines are funny, intriguing, surprising, heartbreaking and heartwarming and this story, From Air, is all that and so much more! All I can say to you about it is READ IT! You won’t regret it.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

This is definitely an emotional read. Fitz is a smoke jumper in Missoula and Jaymes is the new travel nurse living with him and his roommates. He’s grumpy and closed off, but shortly, Jaymes has him questioning his feelings. He’s lost a lot and doesn’t like commitment. Plus there’s a “no sleeping with roommates” rule, but these two are meant to be.

There are some unexpected twists and turns, but Fitz and Jaymie are meant to be.

From Air by J.E. Ann, published by Montlake is the first book in the new Wildfire Series. A full length, stand alone slow burn that put me through the wringer, ripped me apart and then put me back together.
Jamie is a 25 year old travel nurse. She hasn't much family anymore, is a minimalist, realist; and moves to rural Montana, becomes roommates with firefighters.
Calvin together with Will and Maren gets a new roommate. And the grumpy island brooding looner and ornery man isn't excited at all. He successfully manages to keep everything at arms lengths. But Jamie burrows under hsi skin in no time - ha as if. This is the slowest burn I read in a very long time. Fitting for the story, but I desperatedly wanted to know what happens to Fitzy and Jaymes.
And just when he thaws the other shoe drops, the author is a master in letting the other shoe drop. I'm awaiting it with beated breath every single time - and every single time she delivers.
This book reminds me of Perfectly Imperfect, a previous book, it's the HIFI of books, high quality entertainment.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘼𝙞𝙧 follows travel nurse Jamie beginning her adventure in a four way rental in Montana where she meets Fitz, the grumpy smoke jumper who's not only fighting fires ever since she wormed her way into his life.

Everything about this book was incredible. It was hilarious, maddeningly sexy, complicated and so heart wrenchingly angsty. A perfectly balanced book.

Jewel E. Ann has been one of my favourite writers since the very beginning, when I first read a masterpiece called 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 and it continues till date.

It can be said that this author has never written the same book twice and each story you'll ever read will surely leave an impact.

In context of the story itself... I'll just say that be prepared with your tissues.
It's a tragedy this book isn't out until November because I just wanna gush out loud to everyone!!

Jaymes Lanette Andrews traveled to Missoula from Florida. Her time in Missoula is temporary so there were no plans of finding love with a man who jumps out of planes to fight fires. Fitz is the guy who is closed off emotionally. Jayme made it her mission to converse with Fitz, breaking down his emotional state one witty comment at a time. Her rental agreement prevented her from dating her roommates and yet they allowed the banter between them to become foreplay for what became a whirlwind romance of unexpected proportions. She became the fire he could never control.

The age difference never presented itself as an issue especially with the witty banter between them. Good gracious she gives as good as she takes and vice versa. The power behold the ability to wield words as weapons is strong.

Reading JEA’s words is the highlight of my day. Every book I open I’m giddy with excitement knowing I’m about to the crack the code on happiness. Sure some of her words will bring me to tears and cause my heart to stop more than once, buts it’s all part of the process to reaching pure joy. I’ve traveled every place with JEA in the book world and I’ve enjoyed every book friend she’s given me. I’m never sure which one I’m going to like more but in the end I just keep accepting each one.

When JEA writes it I read it. I literally dropped everything and gave my time to reading. It’s worth my time each and everytime. Once again I find myself immersed in the romance JEA created. I did it in one day. I gave myself one day to embrace the beauty and pain of this beautifully tragic situation JEA designed. My eyes leaked and that’s hard to make happen unless it’s a Hallmark movie moment, but she did it.

This was an odd one for me. I don't think Jewel E. Ann could write a bad book. Her books always grip me and I can't stop reading. The story for this one was a bit out of there for me. I liked the concept, but I felt like I was missing chunks of it to make it flow better. The main characters were kind of immature too. Not bad and I will definitely read the second book.

A book that I pictured as a movie immediately. I thought this was a romantic and entertaining story and look forward to more from Ann. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
