I absolutely loved Blood of the Gods! In fact, this is my favourite fantasy series this year and definitely in my top of all times.

This series is so inventive, clever and captivating, it’s hard to put into words why and how. The back story is so immensely intriguing, the world building unique and the characters vibrant.

What a brilliant follow on from Cloak of the vampire. The story went in directions I wasn’t expecting and just keeps getting more and more interesting. The chemistry between Aileen and Ragnor is off the charts. I really think this series has it all and deserves so much more attention. I will say that it has pretty cruel elements, but never as a shock factor or needlessly. The writing is fluent and smart and I can’t stress enough how fascinating the plot is, in a world full of vampire fiction this is so refreshingly different and imaginative, I really cannot recommend it enough!

This is the second book in the series and you need to read the first book before this one to really understand the story. I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style, especially how the point of view for the FMC was the first point of view and then the MMC was the third point of view. This book fell a little flat for me but if you enjoy it know it ends on a cliffhanger!

⚠️First I think it’s important that you read the trigger warnings before diving into this book. It was handled well, but sometimes difficult to read the child abuse.

With that being said, this book came out of left field compared to book 1 but I liked it! It definitely leaves you with more questions and only a few answers, but Englard hooks you for book 3. The character development was well done. The world building was more chaotic than book 1, but mad me interested in book 2.
Best summary is who am I? Who are you? What is a Marrow and does Ragnor wear underwear?

As soon as I finished Cloak of the vampire, I was desperate to know what happens next, so I was thrilled to get the ARC copy.

This book starts off a little slower than the last. We see Aileen acclimating to her new life at Atalon League. But things get very interesting very quickly. The plot thickens big time. We learn a lot more about Aileens past and wtf the Morrow Gods are.

Get too see a bit more dual POV, but unfortunately it continues with the 1st for her and 3rd for him. It’s a bit jarring.

A lot of the spice was in brief flashbacks or dreams, so the real spice didn’t start until the last half of the book. Still spicy, damn.

Pacing was a little weird. With the slow start and the addition of more action, things jumped all over the place in certain parts

Will say, some of the spicy scene vocabulary and passages were a big cringy. I found myself completely taken out of certain moments with how much it jarred me.

Overall, not as good as the first book, but I'm still hooked. I love the characters, the world that Englard has created, and I am so excited to see what happens next!!

What a fantastic follow up to book 1; it did not disappoint. I binge read all of book 1 in a day and I easily did the same for book 2. It has the same addictive qualities that the Bonds that Tie series written by J Bree has.

I loved the continuation of Aileen’s story. This author does a fantastic job of delivering all of the essential information to follow the plot seamlessly without it ever being overwhelming. There is a lot going on in these books, it’s fast paced, but at no point was a confused or needing to reread chunks. Thats rare for fast paced fantasy.

Aileen is such a strong FMC, she has so much depth to her character you can’t not root for her. The side characters are also given just as much love in this series and are consistent throughout the books. No one is one dimensional or under described.

I am already desperate for book 3 and I will be eagerly stalking NetGalley to request my copy. I’ve been recommending to all my friends and followers and they seem to share the sentiment that this book is filling the gap of addictive vampire romantasy that we all crave.

This book was better than the first, the main character was less whiny and the concepts of the plot were interesting and dark, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Noob is still a cringe word to me but it was used far less and didn't take me out of the story at all.
I look forward to seeing what happens next in regard to everything that has been revealed so far.

First - a confession. I had not read the first book in this series. However, it was easy to pick up. I thought the POVs were a bit quirky. Aileen (MFC) was always first person. Ragnor (MMC) was typically third person. I felt for Aileen. All Ragnor had to do was talk to her & she was dripping down her thighs...maybe she needs to see a doctor :). I do not know the age of the author, but at times I thought it felt a bit juvenile. Maybe it's just me & getting older, but I don't recall the last time I've heard/seen "jump his bones" and I read a lot of smut. The other juvenile feeling comes from a lot of "extra fluff" - more telling vs. showing. The beginning of chapter 23 felt like a jr. high writing exercise (Fire was all I could see. Smoke was all I could smell. Ashes were all I could taste. Heat was all I could feel. Screams were all I could hear.) The book was a quick read, but felt it could have been even more condensed. The epilogue at the end did not make a lot of sense to me (again, maybe because I hadn't read the first book) but I feel like it would have been better served as a prologue as well. Lots of questions, which I assume at least some of which will be addressed in subsequent books. Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC opportunity.

I feel absolutely head over heels in love with the characters in this book, and it is fastly become one of my favorite series that I have read in 2024. I am absolutely ecstatic and cannot wait for the next book in the series. I book one and two with a week. I was so obsessed.

The thing I love the most about the series so far is that it is not your normal vampire romance. There’s a perfect amount of plot in spice which makes for the perfect story. I also feel like a lot of vampire romances. Get extremely repetitive with the same scenarios happening over and over again and that is 1000% definitely not the case with this series. Everything about the series has been a breath of fresh air and I don’t think I could get anymore in love.

I can’t wait to see what comes next, Sapir has found a lifelong reader with me 🖤

Admittedly, Cloak of the Vampire was more interesting than this continuation. It is not a stand alone book. Readers will need to read Cloak of the Vampire to understand what is going on. Personally, neither story grabbed me or kept me engaged with the characters. We never really get to know anything about them other than the MC viewing everyone as scenery in their life. What is Vampire Resources? Did vampire just map their world to humans? Why would Djinn feel the need or entitlement to mess with vampire and what is their landscape? What is happening in their world? Who watches them? The story is so surface. My nickname as a teenager was Zoey and I was born in Nevada so seeing that was interesting, though.

This was a slow read from first for me. Being at a new legion with a new lord was really interesting to read about because I got to see how cruel and dangerous they other lords can be.

I can not wait to see what happens amongst the lords and to learn more about Ragnar in book 3

This one was a very great read. I enjoyed it. The action, the plot and the characters all made this book fun to read. I really enjoyed the world the author created!

The first book left too many secrets that are needed to be uncovered and the second book was just at the right pace. The way the secrets slowly unfolded was so engaging and kept me on my toes. And just when I thought that was end of it, more secrets and mysteries were revealed. It left the impression that there is more to the story than it is. It really is a good story and I have enjoyed the first and second book.

After reading the first book I knew I had to read the next installment, so when i saw it on Netgalley, i placed my request.

If book one was riveting, book two is Intriguing. I enjoyed reading both books so much and while the tension was mostly gone in this book, there was still a lot of suspense waiting for the next big moment between Aileen and Ragnor, i sure wasn’t disappointed.

I’m so looking forward to the next read in this series.

I so badly wanted to love this but it fell flat for me and I couldn’t personally get into it. I do think there’s others that will enjoy it though.
