Admittedly, Cloak of the Vampire was more interesting than this continuation. It is not a stand alone book. Readers will need to read Cloak of the Vampire to understand what is going on. Personally, neither story grabbed me or kept me engaged with the characters. We never really get to know anything about them other than the MC viewing everyone as scenery in their life. What is Vampire Resources? Did vampire just map their world to humans? Why would Djinn feel the need or entitlement to mess with vampire and what is their landscape? What is happening in their world? Who watches them? The story is so surface. My nickname as a teenager was Zoey and I was born in Nevada so seeing that was interesting, though.

This was a slow read from first for me. Being at a new legion with a new lord was really interesting to read about because I got to see how cruel and dangerous they other lords can be.

I can not wait to see what happens amongst the lords and to learn more about Ragnar in book 3

Blood of the Gods by Sapir A. Englard totally pulled me in with its intense dive into Aileen’s struggle and her complex relationship with Rayne. Although the pace slowed down a bit compared to the first book, I really enjoyed the deeper character development and the new twists that kept things interesting. The added layers of vampire politics and ancient gods were intriguing and set things up nicely for the next installment. It’s a solid sequel that builds on the series well, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where the story heads next! :)

This one was a very great read. I enjoyed it. The action, the plot and the characters all made this book fun to read. I really enjoyed the world the author created!

The first book left too many secrets that are needed to be uncovered and the second book was just at the right pace. The way the secrets slowly unfolded was so engaging and kept me on my toes. And just when I thought that was end of it, more secrets and mysteries were revealed. It left the impression that there is more to the story than it is. It really is a good story and I have enjoyed the first and second book.

After reading the first book I knew I had to read the next installment, so when i saw it on Netgalley, i placed my request.

If book one was riveting, book two is Intriguing. I enjoyed reading both books so much and while the tension was mostly gone in this book, there was still a lot of suspense waiting for the next big moment between Aileen and Ragnor, i sure wasn’t disappointed.

I’m so looking forward to the next read in this series.

I so badly wanted to love this but it fell flat for me and I couldn’t personally get into it. I do think there’s others that will enjoy it though.

I enjoyed that there was such an interesting twist in Aileen’s history but have so many questions left for the third book (not to mention the twist at the end UGH). I’m mostly feeling impatient for the pieces to fall into place!

I loved the first book in this series, it really set this series up for success with great world building and wasn't rushed like similar stories in the genre. As such I had big expectations for the second book. The mixture of tension and suspense keeps you hooked.

Now, I also really enjoyed reading Blood of the Gods the second novel in the Cloak of the Vampire series. While the tension was mostly gone, there was still a lot of suspense waiting for the next big moment between Aileen and Ragnor (and I wasn't disappointed). I loved the introduction of new characters and more lore around the Morrow Gods and Aileen's past.

Overall a really great read. Great lore building and character development and really sets you up for the story to continue. Excited to see what the third book in this series has to offer.

I was so happy when I saw this as an ARC after the ending of Book one I've been craving to read more about Aileen and Ragnor.

I am still reeling after finishing this one and hoping for a 3rd installment SOON.

It's the House of Night series for adults, following a reluctantly turned new vampire and the lord that turned her, while they play this cat and mouse game of chase.

I just read book one not too long ago and did not expect to be browsing Netgalley and come across book two already. I could not wait to read this so I devoured it, obviously.

The world building is insane, we've got vampires, magic, some other supernaturals and a dead religion with dead Gods. Book one left so many unanswered questions and we finally get some answered but, we're also left with more new questions. So many twists and turns, I'm still shooketh from trying to keep up. 😂

I was so happy to get more insight into Aileen's past and even more insight into who Ragnor is. I wanted more from him after book one and boy did I get it. And Aileen! I was so mad how in the last one she kept jumping into Ragnor's arms even after he'd be a jerk even though this girl was fierce and had a backbone of steel so I was elated when he came around again she stood her ground even though she was having inner turmoil. She made him grovel and I ate it up. I love when a man needs to grovel and Ragnor perfected it. Their relationship grew so much more in this book and honestly getting the bit more backstory on Ragnor explained more of his character and his connection to Aileen and why he would treat her poorly.

And that epilouge?! I gasped. Just when I thought we wouldn't get any more huge plot twists we get a bomb of one on Ragnor's origins. I need the next book already. 🤭 Saphir this story is amazing - your world building is incredible and I'm excited for more.

I read Sapir A. England’s second installment of Cloak of the Vampire and loved reading this mesmerizing story that ends on a cliffhanger. This story had a fair amount of spice that left you panting after Rayne. I can’t wait to see what the next installment has in store!

I was so happy that this book was available for an ARC, with how book one ended! I drove right in and finished it within 1 day!

I felt like this book was a little slower than book one, but I think it's because we are driving into a different league and learning a little more about Aileen.

However, this book ended strong and still left me hanging on the mysterious Aileen and the Morrow Gods! Book 3 can't come soon!
