I can't believe I have to say goodbye to the Blood of Eden series. To Allison, Zeke, Jackel and of course, Kanin *sobbing.* Reading those last few pages upset me because I knew it was going to be the end, that I had to close the book and pack it back away on my shelf. Like so many beloved series, characters stay with you forever. What they went through, what they accomplished, how much they suffered and how much they grew. All this and more. And, if it feels like this for us, the readers, imagine what it's like for the authors. Investing so many years, nurturing and cultivating. It's like letting your children go out into the world, after you helped them in becoming who they are…sigh! Oh, I'm saddened.
Anyways, I really don't want to talk about what happened in The Forever Song. There really is no need to go into any detail whatsoever. All you need to know is that this series has everything you ever want in a story and it will make you fall in love with Vampires again, as well as, reinforce how amazing it is to read about such Bad-Ass Heroines and the journey they are on.
Julie Kagawa, you never disappoint.
I got accepted to review this book years ago, but unfortunately never got around to reading it. Apologies for this.
Ends of trilogies can be frustrating. It was such a relief that The Forever Song ended on such a strong, satisfying note.

I unfortunately was not able to read this book. I was excited when ever I had chosen to download or pick this book up on Netgalley. However, time moves by so quickly and I never got to read it.
Been a fan of Julie Kagawa since I've read her Iron Fey series. I love all her works and I really enjoyed reading them. I wonder what's her inspiration on writing such great books.
The Forever Song was a great ending to the Blood of Eden series.
To date, Allie is a favorite character. I enjoyed her personality, her growth, and every outcome of the various trials presented before her. She is an underrated heroine, and she needs to be talked about more.
The beginning of the book begins with so much that I had to step back and remember a bit of what happened in the end of The Eternity Cure. There is so much that Allie wants to get revenge for, and we are taken through every thought, inclusive of pain and anguish. There is a humanity to her, even for the monster-like traits that appear to grow.
The ending was heart-breaking. It was stressful, and I was at the edge of my seat the whole time.
My Thoughts:
I am embarrassed to say that I have been reading The Immortal Rules trilogy for years now. Up until recently, I had put off reading the last book in the series because I didn't want it to end. This series is what started my obsession with Julie Kagawa's books. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. I finally gathered the courage to read the book, and I loved it so much.
The Forever Song was the perfect conclusion to The Immortal Rules trilogy. The book was action packed from beginning to end. Sarem's things that he left for Allie and everyone else to find, while disturbing, kept things interesting. The book did take me a while to read, but that's because I had other things going on In my life, and not because it was boring. I also loved how Julie Kagawa perfectly wrapped everything up. She tied up all the loose ends, so readers wouldn't have to wonder what might have happened with certain situations, which I appreciated.
Even though I loved this book, I really didn't want to finish it. Finishing it means the series is over, which makes me sad. I loved these characters, and am going to miss them so much. I can't wait to read Julie Kagawa's newer series about dragons, and see what other amazing characters she can come up with.
I give The Forever Song: 4/5.
