I cannot ethically write a real review for this because there is literally no way I won't spoil it. It was a wild ride, I have a lot of questions, you do not need to read the first book to enjoy this one (although I may seek that one out now), and I am frustrated with the ending. All in all though, a very entertaining read!
"Wicked" by Maggie Giles is a continuation of Detective Ryan Boone’s saga, blending mystery with intricate character dynamics. Boone’s relentless pursuit of justice takes him to Ottawa, where he uncovers a conspiracy with chilling national implications. Meanwhile, former detective Cora Porter’s transition to forensics adds a compelling layer, especially as she navigates both personal and professional challenges.
The narrative is fast-paced and suspenseful, with a well-drawn antagonist in Blaine Roche, whose motivations add depth to the plot. Giles expertly weaves together themes of revenge and redemption, keeping readers on their toes with unexpected twists.
Thank you Maggie Giles, Rising Action Publishing Co., and Netgalley for the advanced copy!

This was a strong sequel in the Twisted Truths series, it had what I enjoyed from the first book. It improved on the first book and still had everything that I enjoyed from that book. The characters were written perfectly and thought it was suspenseful. I enjoyed the way Maggie Giles wrote this and left me wanting to read more in this series and author.

I felt really lost as I read the book. It’s not bad, just wished I read the first book. I don’t want to get the book a poor rating.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as twisted but it was still an amazing book, I loved that we got to meet new characters aswell as an incredible plot twist regarding identity.
‘Sorry, I'm not great at reading social cues and tend to overshare. I sometimes forget that not everyone is used to’ this was so relatable and did make me laugh
If you want to find out the truth of the drug that caused the girls to become murderers then this is the book for you.
Also love that Ryan got a happy ending and if the author ruins that I’ll be so sad for him, he deserves happiness
*full disclosure I was given this book in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley*

Maggie always had a way with characters and makes you come back for more! This is the second book in the series and I think it helpful if you read that one first.

I honestly could not get into this book. Am not sure if it is because I did not read the first one, or this is just not my writing style that I prefer to read

This was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading it and didn’t want to put it down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Thank you Net Galley for this ARC! Let me start this by saying, I enjoyed this novel even though I didn’t read the first novel in this series. I do feel like I missed some things because I didn’t realize this is number 2 in the series but I still liked the story and the characters. Definitely a worthy read

ARC REVIEW:💊🔍🥼💓
I wanted to start with a BIGGG thank you to netgalley/publishing/author for sending me an ARC copy of this book!
This book had me hooked from the very first chapter. Super interesting and suspenseful. There was lots of points in this book that had twists and turns 🤭 This was a very faced paced book that allowed for the reader (me) not to lose interest.
Thank you again for this read (all reviews are a reflection of my opinion).

I enjoyed this book and the characters. I loved the multiple points of view as that really helps to understand every aspect of the plot. I did, however, feel like I was missing something while reading….only to realize afterwards that this was book 2. Im excited to go back and read the first one!

I struggled with this book as I had not read the first and didn't realize it was a sequel. It doesn't always matter but I felt this time it did as I was so lost I could tell there were things I SHOULD know and didn't. It's about a new drug, Solydexran that has been approved but apparently is affecting patients differently and landing some in the hospital. There are doctors, conspiracy theories, and prisoners...but that's all I got as I needed the backstory to understand completely.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Oh this was just beautiful! I loved this book!!!! I was so into it from the first chapter. I could not wait to see how the ending was going to go. Great read!

I didn’t read the first book before diving into this one. However, I really enjoyed the writing. It’s fast paced, twisty and turns— I was a little confused but I still thought the author did a great job in keeping this book interesting enough so that new readers can pick it up. Can’t wait to read more from this series!

I had some issues with the file, unfortunately, but once I got that figured out all went well.
I read the first book in the series before reading this one and I'm not sure that I was as drawn in to the story as I'd hoped I'd be. I'm still pondering how I feel after reading this one. It might be more that it's not my typical style of read or that I'm just not currently in the mood for a read like this at the moment. There's just something about it that isn't hitting for me personally right now.
I will, however, be picking it up again in the future and seeing how I feel about it after I've had some space from it. I will recommend this book to those who are looking for this type of read for sure.
I did find myself intrigued to the story and where it was going. The writer has a good, clear, and concise way of writing which I truly appreciate in a read. No beating around the bush kind of thing.
I'm not sure I have much else to say at this point, I will likely come back and edit my feedback once I've had some time to ponder this one a little more.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley. I am glad that I read the first book in the series before this one. I liked the continuation of the story from the first book, but I actually liked the characters in the second book more. The story is very twisty, and the last third of the book is especially suspenseful.

The novel’s complex twists and dark revelations, centered around a rogue pharmaceutical company and a vengeful suspect, make it a thrilling read. With its intense pacing and intricate plotting, Wicked is a must-read.
A captivating 4-star read that builds on its predecessor with fresh, engaging twists. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I love this cover. I was happy to learn it was book 2 in a series. I did not read the first, so I was a bit confused with this story. Overall, it featured good writing and a mystery to get lost in.

I don’t really feel comfortable giving this book a rating. I didn’t realize this was a sequel and I didn’t read the first book so I did not get a good handle on the book.
