Advice for teens wanting to help friends and peers with their mental health. Side by side, your existence is like a rainbow for your friends. This is truly good book.
I’m Here is a life-affirming guide about peer-led counselling for teens.
A lot of us first turn to our loved ones, especially friends when we encounter problems in life. Especially during our teens, our first counsellors are our peers. Plus, some teens receive more training to help their friends - these can be peer mentors, and peer counsellors.
I’m Here is a guide for these peer counsellors.
It is well-structured, to the point and covers a wide range of possibilities, challenges and tips on how to help others with those.
As an adult, I have found great value in this book and this book will allow me to help my child in their teen years as well as helping them help their friends.
This was a well thought out guide for peers to help their peers. I really like the book guiding young adults through the process of helping other young adults. Some adolescents do not want or can't accept help from adults, but this guide will help some receive mental health counseling that might not get it otherwise. I highly recommended this book for all young adults.
Thank you NetGalley and Free Spirit Publishing for this ARC.
A book I would’ve appreciated and held close had I had it available to me as a teen! This is a wonderful resource for learning ways to help either yourself or loved ones who are struggling with mental health, a great read!
