Thank you Philip Fracassi, Netgalley, & Orbit Books for this free ARC in exchange for a review.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi novel with a dash of thriller, for its story-line, disctinct characterization and heart.

The last three chapters of this novel gave me ALL the feels. I just wish the rest of the book had been AS good. I enjoyed the premise and unpredictability of the plot. However, the first 50% of the book was slower than I would have liked. I feel like this is one of those books I would actually like to read a second time now that I know the ending (which, generally, I would say is a good sign). And maybe I will do just that once I make it through my TBR list ;) Definitely has both John Marrs and Blake Crouch vibes. 3.5 stars rounded up (thanks to those last few chapters!).

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit Books for an e-ARC of this novel.

This was a strong scifi novel, it uses the time-travel element perfectly and was hooked from the first page. I thought the use of time travel was everything that I was expecting and thought the overall feel worked in the history element. Philip Fracassi has a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this.

I received an early copy of The Third Rule of Time Travel by Philip Fracassi from #OrbitBooks through #NetGalley. I had gotten about 1/3 of the way into the story, reading briefly before bed each evening, and then I picked it up over the weekend and I could NOT put it down...This is an absolutely fantastic, mind-bending, fast paced -story. It has the feel of classic science fiction brought into the 21st century with a unique twist.
I'll be ordering a physical copy.

The Three Rules of Time Travel
First: Travel can only occur to a point within your lifetime.
Second: You can only travel for ninety seconds.
Third: You can only observe.
The rules cannot be broken.

Before his tragic death, Dr. Beth Darlow and her husband Colson achieved the impossible and found a way to make a form of time travel a reality, and managed to secure the backing of a mega-corporation to continue their research to understand and control their creation.

Beth and her daughter Isabella have mostly managed to move on with their lives in the year since Colson died, but strange events both in and out of the research lab have Beth wondering how well she really understands the machine she helped create, and whether her goals and the goals of those she works for are aligned... As pressure mounts to deliver results she wonders who she can trust, what else will be taken from her, and how much more she has to give ...

Am I shocked this is a 5 star for me?
No not at this point, everything I've read so far by this guy has been amazing and this, this one was a work of freaking art.

Scifi, I have a love / hate relationship with, but this book is why I love it so much.

The rules themselves set up the tone for the story and got my blood pumping, as you know, if we have rules, especially a set of rules stating the rules Cannot be broken, that it's about to get wild and broken. I was already tense and on edge just from a little set of rules, but that's the power of Fracassi.

I got this as an ARC of netgalley and Im actually planning on reading it a second time. Mind blowing.

This gave me the absolute best freaking vibes like Gloria by Bentley Little, time travel is a touchy mistress, do we ever really understand how it works, or are we just so arrogant to believe we do..

I was screaming, crying, yelling for Beth every step of the way, everything was chaos and when just observing starts to warp your reality, how do you fix it, how do you stop looking..

But all rules are meant to be broken, right?

So fast paced and I am telling you, I started and finished this in one single swoop, phenomenal, I will be purchasing this when it releases and cannot wait to see what else comes out.

This book put Fracassi on my Peter Clines list for Sci-horror that cannot be beat, at least to me..

So excited that I was able to obtain an ARC copy of Philip Fracassi's newest novel set to be released in March. My favorite Fracassi book so far is Boys in the Valley and while this one is SO completely different, it is no less horrifying. I was hooked from the jump having only read "The Rules" which are:

Rule One: Travel can only occur to a point within your lifetime.
Rule Two: You can only travel for ninety seconds.
Rule Three: You can only observe.
The rules cannot be broken.

Intriguing, no? And OOF does it dive right into an absolute banger of a start. I think it's best to dive into this one blind and enjoy the ride. So, I won't give much else away, but if you like books that jump into the action from page one and only turn up the heat from there, I highly recommend checking this one out.

Thank you SO much to Philip Fracassi and Orbit books for providing me with an eARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
