At this point, I'm wondering if David Pepose has it in him to write a bad comic. Literally EVERYTHING he's written, and trust me, I've read EVERYTHING, has been PERFECT!!! I hope his career continues to flourish.

Great illustrations. The story unfooding in a different way. Just love the way it is portrayed. Go readers grab it.

The Devil wears my face is a must read if you like suspenseful graphic novels but even if you don’t, the art alone is worth your time. It was simply magnificent, the colours and designs of the illustrations had me floored, I’ve since finishing this book followed the illustrator on social media.

As for the author, David Pepose, he manages to spin together a well researched story depicting the juxtaposition between corruption and gore while using catholicism and holiness as the backdrop. A very interesting read!

I would recommend reading this either physically or on a larger divide like an iPad because I found reading some of the text to be difficult. But read it nevertheless!

Thank you NetGalley, my dealer in life.

Robert Langdon is supposed to go to Spain and remove a powerful demon from the rich influential man's son that it is possessing, but when the exorcism goes wrong he enters the body of the afflicted – and the demon is willing and able to go directly back into the Papal suite in the Vatican, and unleash hell, wearing Langdon's body as disguise. Oh alright, it's nothing to do with Robert Langdon, of course – but this treats exorcism and Catholic rite with the same flippant ignorance as Dan Brown might. I'd ignore the descriptions of this being a horror book – it shows lots of evisceration and bloody beheadings and so on, but it's just a battle between superpowered religious entities, with absolutely no indication of it having any bearing on humanity. You might feel one side needs to vanquish the other, but from the looks of it here none of it would ever trickle down to affect us, and you're left with the same feeling that the empty bluster of "Hellboy 2" gave, that it would never ever get to concern us, or really deserve our attention. Two and a half stars.

ALLORA QUESTO FUMETTO È SPETTACOLARE
C'È SPLATTER, SANGUE, DEMONI E RELIGIONE
cosa si poteva chiedere di più? storia intrigante con delle tavole decisamente super
colori, illustrazioni perfette.

I adored how gruesome the art was in this graphic novel, and often laughed in shocked suprise at how horrific many of the pages are. The visual style is absolutely fantastic!
The story was great and follows a priest who becomes possessed by a demon and goes on a romp through the vatican. I'd happily recommend this to anyone who likes horror graphic novels.

I really enjoyed that the possession wasn't typical and done a bit different. There was a lot more graphic violence than I thought there would be for a possession, but I liked that. The concept of the graphic novel of a demon infiltrating the Vatican I found to be very interesting. I really enjoyed this overall and would definitely read more.

Art style is dark and gloomy and grotesque, just what I'd expect from a book of this genre.
Overall I personally didn't love the story, but that's a me thing. Others will probably love it and find it riveting!

Very interesting comic, and the twist about the main guy made me laugh for how little I expected it. The art was detailed and impactful and at points, gruesome

The story was very well thought out and the art was amazing. I definitely recommend. From the start to finish it was pretty good, I finished it in one sitting and it left me wanting more

Absolutely fantastic! If the Exorcist, Preacher, and Evil had a baby, it would be this graphic novel. It goes way beyond the typical story of possession to something unspeakable. It’s gory, it’s insane, it’s so d—n good! And the artwork is incredible. I can definitely see this getting made into a series similar to Preacher. If this is book number one, I will definitely be reading the rest!

Huge thanks to Mad Cave Studios and NetGalley for sending me this ARC for review! All of my reviews are given honestly!

This was an incredibly well done body swap horror thriller graphic novel. This is the kind of comic book that really gives you your money's worth as there is a lot packed into both the story and the art. I've really been enjoying the output from Mad Cave Studios and this one was no exception. I'm really hoping we get another story from the creative team very soon.

Special Thanks to Mad Cave Studios and Netgalley for the digital ARC. This was given to me for an honest review.

The horror aspect of this book absolutely slapped! This goes without saying but the artist did a phenomenal job of bringing this story to life and really immersing the reader into it. I loved the concept of this story, the historic undertones with the creepy twist that has you hanging on the edge of your seat with every page that you turn.

I couldn't put this book down until I got to the end and was still left needing more!

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC!

10/10 Horror novel! I loved it! It was extremely gorey so be weary of that if that is not your style but the constant hunt that was happening to be rid of the demon was great! I loved the ending of it!

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW

Well if that wasn't the most horrifying thing for my old Catholic brain to read then I don't know what is. I expected the graphic novel to be gory but... holly shit some of these pages were drenched in blood. There's a few scenes with Legion in particular that come to mind (ex. Legion and the pope, and Legion AS the pope) that were all very stressful and gore ridden. Overall I did enjoy the story and the general ARC of Veri's character. Maria and Santiago were really good characters too and I was glad they got to have their happy ending. I don't think there's going to be a sequel to this graphic novel but I'd welcome one if there was.

Brutal and engrossing from the first page to the last!

In the midst of a crisis of faith, Catholic Priest, Father Vieri, is dispatched to perform an exorcism on the possessed son of a noble. A familiar set up, with a sinister twist when the exorcism results in the demon swapping bodies with Vieri; taking his, and leaving him chained in a dungeon, free to wreak havoc.

Gorey, gruesome fun.
