This book was just light, fluffy, and fun. Paranormal romance set in its own universe. It was a quick read with cute banter and a couple of fun subplots. I would love another book with Trixie’s roommate as the lead!

I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher.

A cute Halloween read to get excited for spooky season. We have Dom the rich vampire and Trixie the Uber driver. Book was very cute. I really liked the main characters. Some parts of the book seemed to go slow for me. Ending seemed a bit rushed. Low spice.

A fun, quick, paranormal, witchy read. The storyline is engaging, with a strong emphasis on magic and romance. The side plot about politics did feel underdeveloped but not hard to follow. However, the FMCs point of view can be somewhat challenging to read from. Her reluctance to embrace magic isn't fully explained until halfway through the book, which might leave readers puzzled for a significant portion of the story. Once her reasoning is revealed, it does add depth to her character, but the wait feels a bit prolonged.

One notable aspect that might divide readers is the off-screen first kiss. For a romance novel, this choice can be a bit jarring, as it skips a critical moment for establishing the chemistry between the main characters. The relationship development feeling seems somewhat rushed overall and they go from acquaintances to being in love without much build-up.

Despite these points, the book remains an enjoyable read. It's perfect for anyone seeking a light, entertaining paranormal story that doesn't require a heavy investment of time. I appreciate NetGalley and Lamanna Books for the ARC!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the digital ARC!

I'll preface this by saying that this book was fine. But that was pretty much my whole thought process around it. It's an easy read if you're looking for a light-hearted paranormal romance, and sometimes you need that, which is why I don't have anything negative to say. Unfortunately, I don't have anything positive either because it was just...fine.

There was instalove, and it's explained half-heartedly, but at least it gave me an explanation. An overarching plot is happening - both Trixie and Dominic have been nominated as candidates for a seat on the Council, which runs The Hollows - a paranormal enclave in New York City. There's pretty much nothing that indicates this place is actually in NYC, which is unfortunate as I feel that would have added more to the world-building. Dominic is also the guy who owns the building that Trixie lives in, and he wants to sell it. He also has an evil brother doing evil things, and Trixie is struggling with her magic that wants to be free and that she doesn't want to use.

Overall, it was fine. Trixie shows some character growth, but Dominic does not. I didn't feel particularly inspired to read anything else in this world, but it was okay as a palette cleanser.

This is the first book I’ve read by Gina LeManna and I absolutely loved it!
Enemies (well a little one sided) to lovers story with the added supernatural element. It follows the story of a strong willed witch (Trixie) who is holding on to her past and a rich vampire (Dominic) who needs a minor reality check.
Really well written with many elements included; comedy, romance, suspense and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed the story start to finish and it will definitely be a recommended read from me.

For fans of The Ex Hex, From Bad to Cursed, and any Erin Sterling books, this one is for you. A fun, cute, Halloween witchy romance that is such a joy to read.

4 Stars.

The Hate Hex is a fun take on the Witchy Rom Com with Sex in the City or Grimm vibes. I liked the idea of magical worlds hidden amongst the normies, but I also found it difficult to reconcile the two. Why do magical people who live in a small area of NYC need Ubers? And do Witch Uber drivers go through background checks? If you suspend belief and just go with it, you'll have fun though.

Gina LaManna’s newest romantic comedy centers on the relationship between Trixie Gardens and Dominic Kent.

Trixie is a powerful witch who has sworn off using her magic, a dangerous decision that can lead to deadly consequences. After meeting Dominic Kent, a 300-year-old billionaire who’s set on finding his brother and cutting ties with him, Trixie instantly decides she hates him, even when Dominic finds himself drawn to her.

This paranormal romance is a fun and easy read. I enjoyed the banter between Trixie and Dominic and that Trixie had a job you don’t usually read about in books. I also loved the side characters and felt they added more depth to the story.

*Thank you to NetGalley, and to the author, Gina LaManna, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.*

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the ARC. This was such a cozy, and short paranormal read. I loved the magical essence and the characters. Dom is a rich vampire who starts out very unlikable in the first half but later grow once he falls in love with Trixie, a witch who is suppressing her magic due to past trauma. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you #NetGalley for this ARC!
What a fun read! I am very impatient when it comes to starting books. If a story or main character/s don’t interest me by the end of chapter 1, it already bodes badly for a book! Trixie was endearing from the start and once she meets Dominic and it switches to his POV, it is such a treat of a ride! I loved both main characters, enjoyed their banter, and who knew a witch and vampire could develop such a sweet relationship.
One thing I wanted to flag was that the book synopsis is fairly misleading. Although it is an Enemies to Friends to Lovers story, their enemies part isn’t really accurate. I think the synopsis should be rewritten to better capture the feel of the story. But overall, loved the writing, the characters, the side characters and the magic. Look forward to reading more from this talented author.

There is a thin line between love and hate.

Hate Hex is an enemies to lover, cozy, paranormal rom com. Light, fun read with grumpy, quirky characters that have a decent back story .

(I see a sequel, no spoilers but I’m looking at you Daisy)

This was an enjoyable read and was a pleasant way to loose a couple hours.

If you enjoyed The Ex Hex, Hex Appeal then this a book for you.

This was a great read! It had a plot that kept me interested and didn't drag on. This was light-hearted and there were a lot of times when I was giggling away to myself.

Often I find that fantasy can get a bit away from me and I end up confused but this kept the fantasy elements really digestible and I really enjoyed getting to learn more about the different kinds of magic available in their world. It's interesting to think that a group of supernatural could be living just under our noses and we'd never know.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, fantasy rom-com. It's a perfect blend of romance, humour, and magic!

I wouldn't really call this book enemies to lovers because they're never really enemies and animosity is resolved very quickly, but they do have banter to make up for it. I do like all things witchy so I liked the general vibe, but I was confused about the political plot that seemed very distanced from the other plot lines. I liked the side characters but honestly forgot which POV each chapter was from because the main characters' voices weren't differentiated. This was an entertaining, quick read!

Thank you LaManna Books for the arc!

I really enjoyed this story of Trixie and Dominic's witch and vampire romance. It was a closed door romance, with a funny plotline and some parts that genuinely made me laugh out loud.

Some of the politics of their world were explained in quite a lot of detail, which I didn't find necessary for me - but it was helpful for creating a backstory. There also could have been a bit more tension towards the end, as I felt the book built up for a while and then we skimmed very quickly over the dangerous parts.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the character growth and Emmy was such a fun side character.
