Jack and Ellie were made for each other, no matter what life throws at them. This book is a sweet and reliable romance. Not much happened in this book that was out of the “norm,” but I think that is a part of the appeal. It’s an easy ready, though a little predictable at times. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to check out more from Buck Turner! Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc copy of this book.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.

Young love, different stations in life, declarations of forever...then something sets them off course. There is a second chance romance years later and kind of a "happily ever after" but while the "bones" were there, I was hoping for a little more "meat." Overall, I enjoyed Jack and Ellie's story even though I questioned some of their choices.

The Keeper of Stars by Buck Turner was so fantastically good!! If you like closed door, small town, he falls first, dual timeline, second chance romance then you will love this book!!

This story was so well written and so very sweet. The characters were so well written. This story not only captured my attention from the beginning but it also captured my heart by the end. Ellie never gave up on her dreams for being an astronomy teacher while never wanting to give up her love for Jack. Jack loved Ellie unconditionally. He made something of himself went to the military and wrote a book. The author takes through a love story that though it wasn’t perfect their lifetime. Read this book it will capture your heart. Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for letting me the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.

"A beautifully written second-chance, first love romance with relatable characters that make it impossible to put down."

"The Keeper of the Stars" follows the lives of Jack Bennett and Ellie Spencer, who share an unforgettable summer that forever changes them. Their instant connection blossoms into love, but fate pulls them apart, leaving both struggling to move beyond their first love. Years later, Ellie receives a surprise package—Jack's novel about their summer together. The story beautifully explores the power of first love, the passage of time, and the hope that sometimes the heart's greatest story is far from over. The Keeper of Stars is a vivid journey through their obstacles, relationships, career goals, and personal growth.

I enjoyed this book so much! It reminded me of a Nicholas Sparks novel. Jack and Ellie's story is sweet, filled with trials as they navigate life and their feelings for each other. I highly recommend "The Keeper of the Stars". I also want to thank @pageandvine and Buck Turner for the Advance Reader Copy.

This book was the lifelong journey of Jack and Ellie. While it took a bit to get to the pacing their story was engrossing and so sweet. The love of home, the stretching of love through time and circumstance, the give and take of relationships and the joy of nature are all explored and celebrated throughout. The descriptions of the locations made me want to go exploring in the town and waterways that the characters explore.

I really enjoyed the writing style with this one, the author not only knows how to tell a great story, but they also know how to keep you turning the pages. The two main characters were well written and believable. The setting was fantastic with the water, boat, and southern vibe. While a tad bit predictable it was engaging and overall enjoyable.

A beautifully written second-chance romance.

Is love written in the stars?
Are you always destined to be with a certain someone?

Can Jack and Ellie really rekindle after 12 long years... despite all of the secrets that lie between them?

I definitely recommend this book!
I will be on the look out for more books by Buck Turner.

The Keeper of Stars
Buck Turner, author this touching

Brilliant, timeless and memorable...

Jack Bennett, a young teenager living in Tennessee has seen much loss in the early years of his life. The loss of his brother and father seems to have strengthen the bond between him and his mother. Similarly has his very humble existence. Jack has had to work hard for everything.

Enter in Elizabeth (Ellie) Spencer and everything seems to change. All the values his parents have taught him are put to the test. Ellie is from a different class of society, in respect to financial nuances. But, the two fall in love during the summer months they spend together. Then all seems lost, as their relationship crumbles and each find their paths on a different track.

Twelve years after their breakup, Ellie returns to the small community of Sims Chapel for her aunts funeral and the two reconnect. In lies secrets that contributed to their separation twelve years earlier. Additionally, both have become successful adults as far as their dreams for themselves as young teenagers. Will this be their time to finally come together as a couple?

This critically acclaimed novel touches on so many areas in life. Jack and Ellie experience many firsts together in love and ambition; to the art of forgiveness and the knowledge of power. Hence, when two people allow one another to be their own person, this becomes evident in the nuance of life.

As the author suggests in the novel, was it destiny or was it fate that Jack and Ellie reconnect? Each of us needs to determine that belief for ourselves, as Jack did for himself. It is said that Mockingbirds mate for life and are very symbolic of adaptation, semblance and communicating with others

I am honored to have been given the opportunity to read the novel. Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advance reading copy, of the book, in exchange for a review. The opinions are my own. I highly recommend this touching novel to everyone.

The Keeper of Stars, by Buck Turner, is a beautifully written love story. It reminds me of some of Nicholas Sparks' earlier novels. Endearing and thought-provoking with a side of awwww. You'll not want to put this one down.
Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

3.5 stars, rounded up.

Jack and Ellie meet in 1950 and fall in love over the course of the summer. Their story isn’t plain-sailing and they soon find themselves in trouble. When they meet again in 1962, they try to navigate their relationship once more with some big decisions to make.

This was a quick read and quite enjoyable. Very ‘The Notebook’ as many others have mentioned, but it was still pleasant and easygoing.

Thank you to NetGalley for the e-arc.

This was a beautiful read that just did everything right. It is the story of Jack and Ellie and how their love story came to be.
There was a lot going on throughout the story that did give The Notebook vibes quite a bit. With that being said, it was a fun read and kept me going between smiling and crying.
Bravo, Buck Turner!

I was captivated by this story. I was easily sold by the blurb saying this was like a Nicholas Sparks book. I have always been a big fan of those books so I was very excited about this book! It absolutely delivered. This story was beautiful. I really liked both main characters and loved how this story was told.

This story follows two young people who meet each other and fall in love over the summer but go into separate paths and later reconnect. This book is similar to what you see of a summer-themed book. I loved the story of this book and seeing the second-chance romance coming to life. The writing style was mostly great but I do have to say that it didn’t flow to my liking. I loved the concept of how it starts from when they were young and goes onto the story instead of time jumping back and forth. I enjoyed the dual povs and seeing the time lapse for the characters.

Jack meets Ellie while giving a tour and begins to enjoy her company right away. I loved seeing him fall for her and doing anything to get her love. He has a great character development in the book. Ellie starts off more as friends with Jack but begins to also fall in love with him. The only issue is that she comes from a wealthy family and wants to be a professor. I also enjoyed her story and seeing her get her career. There are many side characters in this story. At first I hated Ellie’s mom but I loved how the author explained why she did the things she did. The romance is friends to lovers and second chance.

The ending was well done and I don’t know if it’s considered a HEA. It’s beautifully written story but it did miss some marks. I know many would enjoy this heartfelt story but pay attention to the style it’s written.

I’ve started this review a few times because I’m not sure what to say. This is a well written story that was easy to follow. I was captivated. It’s hard to explain because there is no drama, no suspense…just a very realistic love story that not everyone is lucky enough to have. The reason for not 5 stars is because I didn’t feel as connected emotionally to the characters as I would have expected to be. Overall a really great book that I would absolutely recommend.

Tropes: summer love, the one that got away, second chance, city girl/country boy, closed door

Keeper of the stars is a love story that spans the decades. Jack and Ellie meet during the summer of 1950, only to be pulled apart when fall arrives. Over a decade later, when Ellie is sent a copy of a book that tells their love story she begins to question what really happened.

This book is very sweet and romantic, and I’m a sucker for second chances. I loved how the book was broken up into seasons but still encompassed several years- that was clever. I did feel like the writing was choppy so I had a hard time really losing myself in the story but it was still very enjoyable and I would recommend this to fans of Nicholas Sparks books, or historical romances.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jack and Ellie have a long journey to get to their hea in this second chance trope romance by Buck Turner.

A young summer love fizzles out when Ellie heads back to her city life. Many years later, she comes back to the small town where Jack is. A few bad choices, a renewed friendship, a revitalized love story all turns into a romance forever after.

It's an emotional read but worth it.

The Keeper of Stars is one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve read in quite some time. When I read the opening paragraph I knew it was going to be hard to put this book down. “They say our lives are written in the stars, that our fate is predetermined. But after the life I’ve lived, I believe that we are the authors of our own destiny …” Buck Turner’s writing flows seamlessly and is so descriptive that I never had to “imagine” what the characters were doing because I could clearly see it in my mind.

Jack and Ellie come from very different backgrounds, but as their summer romance of young love blooms they are determined to find a way to stay together. When forces beyond their control tear them apart, they must go on, but neither Jack nor Ellie will ever forget the love they shared. Years later, family matters bring Ellie back to the water's edge and back to Jack. Now an author, Jack gives her a copy of his book and when Ellie reads the dedication, “To the one who holds my destiny in her hands, my keeper of the stars” she knows that this is more than just another story. This is their love story.

There are so many things to say about this book, but I don’t like giving spoilers. Just know that you will laugh, you will cry, and your heart will never be the same. The last time I read a book like this was The Notebook, so if you like love stories that stand the test of time and give young love a second chance, then The Keeper of Stars is for you.

Thank you NetGalley, Page & Vine and Buck Turner for providing an ARC in exchange for honest thoughts.

“When it comes right down to it, it’s you I want, and I’d give up a thousand Saras for you.”
“ You were right all along. Our fate is not determined by the universe, but by us. We are the authors of our own destiny. And I thank God every day that he made you my keeper of stars.”
“You are my North Star, the one I chart my course by. You have been my rock during stormy times, and my co-pilot on this journey. Your belief in me, your constant encouragement, and your unfailing love have lifted me higher than any accolade ever could.”

What a beautiful book, I felt so many emotions along with the characters while learning about their journey. If you are a fan of Nicholas Sparks you’ll like this book. It even had me keeping up with quotes and I rarely do on a book. Though I just felt the words in my heart that is how powerful they were.
