This was definitely a suspenseful thriller. I thought I knew what was happening, then something would happen to make me change my mind. Brooke has a new boyfriend, Noel, who she’s opened herself up to after being single for a very long time. Noel works with Brooke’s sister, Lizzie and Lizzie doesn’t get good vibes from him. I see that this is the second book in a series, but I was fine to read this as a standalone book. I’d like to read the first book now though. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

My Sister's Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh is a recommended psychological thriller. It is highly recommended if you read the first book in the series, My Sister’s Husband.

Brooke has a new boyfriend, Noel. This is her first adult relationship. Brooke, who met Noel through her housekeeper, Hazel, is totally smitten with him. Her sister Lizzie, a psychologist, does not trust Noel, an ex-con. She wants to protect Brooke, who is juggling a new job while taking care of her daughter, Hope. After events from the past, the sister's are both estranged their Aunt Alice and working through their own troubled relationship for the sake of Hope.

This is a tangled web of lies, secrets, threats, deception, and twists. Each chapter in the narrative is told through the individual point-of-view of either Brooke, Lizzie, or Noel. There is a whole lot going on in the plot concerning various plot threads along with all the numerous lies and secrets that abound in this very dysfunctional family.

Since this is the second book in the Martino Bay series, I think it would be beneficial to read the first book before My Sister's Boyfriend. Alas, I didn't read My Sister’s Husband before My Sister's Boyfriend and had a struggle session untangling all the characters and plot threads that were originally established in the first book. I did figure it all out but I sincerely think I would have enjoyed the novel more if I knew the backstory and wasn't trying to figure out all the previous family drama. There were also a few twists that were predictable. Thanks to Bookouture for providing me with an advance reader's copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

The review will be published on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

I received a copy of this book for free and leave my review voluntarily.

This book was intense and fast-paced from the beginning. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, so at times, I felt a bit lost with the characters. I would recommend reading the books in order.

The twists and turns in this book were wild. I couldn’t put it down, and I could not guess anything correctly. I love the family dynamic and the protective love the sisters have.

This was a fantastic thriller filled with chaos, intensity, and many secrets. I have added the first book (My Sister’s Husband) to my TBR. I will have to give that a go to get the full effect of these characters.

This is an unputdownable psychological thrill that will keep you up all night!

The story is told in Lizzie Noel and Brooke's POV. Noel was recently released from prison and then he signs into Lizzie's classes. He also starts dating Brooke. But Lizzie is suspicious of who Noel really is.

I like the pacing of the story although I kind of predicted what the ending was going to be, although only a certain part of ending, I didn't actually expect. The story overall was paced and it involves Noel and his twin brother Ned--there is some kind of evil twin story part going on in the story. The writing was great and there are some twists and turns on the story and overall, the story was really interesting and was quiet a page turner. This is the second book I have read from this author and looking forward to read more books from this author!

This is worth 4 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Dark. Creepy. Maybe Read My Sister's Husband First. This is one of those dark, creepy books where *most* of the worst stuff (though not all) is "off screen", so even though there are mentions of animal abuse, rape, sexual assault, and more, for the most part we never "see" any of this happening - and more often than not, it is merely mentioned, rather than "showing" anything at all about the abuse at hand. (Though there are points where *slightly* more is shown, to be clear - it is simply that the actual abuse is never shown.)

So for those who can handle seeing such primarily "off screen" abuse in a twisty thriller all about family relationships... this one is done quite well, but truly works *best* if its predecessor, My Sister's Husband, is fresh in your mind. (Vs my having read 869 books between them - seriously.) The events pick up after the events of the first book, with most of the relationships between the characters already well established from that book. (But with enough recap that it is possible to follow along here, there's just a lot to learn.) Told from just three perspectives (rather than each character's or a single narrator's), we get a good sense of what is going on in these complex and complicated relationships, along with a lot of backstory for our new character for this book.

Still, for those looking for dark and creepy yet not necessarily supernatural reads as we go into this fall/ Halloween season, both of these books are quite good for exactly that kind of mood.

Very much recommended.

If you’re in the mood for a good psychological thriller, pick up My Sister’s Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh.

I will admit, that I did guess a part of the plot early on. HOWEVER, I was caught off guard at other plots where I was not expecting the plot twists. But it makes it that much better!

There’s family secrets that emerge into the light a decade after where lives start changing. It’s hard to give a small synopsis to this thriller without giving away spoilers preventing a genuine thrill reaction to a reader.

I found it to be a very quick read only because I was suckered into this thriller! I enjoyed it.

This is a good psychological thriller that centres around a family of women.
I was a bit confused about who was who at first but eventually got my head round all the characters.
Brooke meets Noel through a night out that her housekeeper has arranged.
She really likes him but doesn’t find it easy to trust people after problems in the past with her family.
Brooke’s first priority is her daughter Hope but when her sister Lizzie warns her about Noel she dismisses her concerns.
It soon becomes clear that more than one character is hiding something and this builds up to a nail biting ending.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Lizzie is shocked when she sees her sister Brooke’s new boyfriend is Noel Harwood. Someone who she gets bad vibes from and thinks is dangerous. The problem is that the sisters fell out and aren’t speaking properly. Will she be able to warn her?

This was an interesting premise that sounded like it would have plenty of mystery and drama. After finishing I can say that is true and found it to be a fairly fast paced, easy to read thriller. There are a few characters to meet and while they were written well, I didn’t fully connect to them.

I enjoyed that the story was told in different points of views and preferred some of those perspectives more than others. I did guess the major twist early on and found the story fairly predictable. I didn’t realise this was a sequel before I started reading. I think if I’d read the first one prior to this I may have had more understanding of the complex family dynamics. This was a good thriller but not one of my favourites. 3.5 stars rounded down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

My Sister’s Boyfriend is the thrilling sequel to My Sister’s Husband.
With a returning cast, a compelling plot, a twisty twist or two and the unexpected ending, this read is completely addictive.
Two years after the events in the first book, Brooke is moving on with her life.
Her daughter, Hope is coping with her new environment.
Then Brooke meets a new man, ex con Noel.
But sister, Lizzie believes he is not all he says he is.
What to know what happens next……
Read the book.
Secrets, lies, deception, suspense and immediately interesting.
A fast paced tangled psychological thriller with some suburban drama vibes.
Told from the three characters perspectives, it jumps between them in this gripping tale.
Twisted family secrets and remember nothing is as it seems….
A solid melodrama from an author who never disappoints.

OMG! A twist and turns fast paced domestic thriller. The characters are flawed and dangerous. You have to try and work out who is the most dangerous and stay well away. Once I started reading it was impossible to stop until the breathlessly suprise ending. It's a physcological thriller that left me trying to decide who I most despised and the plot is unbelievably busy while keeping the heart pounding.

My Sister's Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh is a gripping psychological thriller with lots of turns and twists that keeps you guessing until the very end.
I was on the edge of my seat nearly the whole way through. I loved all of the main characters because they were all so flawed, interesting, and relatable.
This book was a quick read with fast pacing leading to a surprising ending.

I really enjoyed this twisty thriller, it kept me riveted to my kindle.
I had my suspicions but more and more pieces fell into play. My head was spinning by the end.
So many secrets in a family have splintered it. When one of them meet a too good to be true guy we will see his mask slip from time to time. Connections will fall into place over time while danger lurks around the corner.
By the time the story ended I will say I didn't see that coming.
Great story, I couldn't put it down.

I thoroughly enjoyed this twisty psychological thriller I met most of the characters in My Sister’s Husband so was familiar with them but there is a newcomer who becomes Brooke’s boyfriend he is very good looking and does everything right and this is Brooke’s first adult relationship with everything she has been through in the past, but her sister Lizzie who is a psychologist gets really bad vibes form Noel Harwood when she meets him in one of her art therapy classes for released prisoners and she does not yet know that he is Brooke’s boyfriend seeing as they have had a falling out, how will all of this turn out?

Lizzie is very protect of her sister and niece after all that they have been through in the past, they are now estranged their Aunt Alice and Brooke is still not giving her a chance on explaining what happened to make Brooke not want to talk to her, but she will never give up on loving her and protecting her, will Brooke give her a chance to put forward her worries before it is too late.

Brooke is managing well with her daughter a new job she employs a nanny housekeeper, Hazel and when Hazel asks her out for drink to meet her housemate Brooke goes along and meeting Noel Harwood soon changes her life, she is falling for this handsome fabulous man but soon Lizzie is pushing for her to re-think her relationship, Brooke is not happy, trust is not easy for Brooke, she thinks Noel is wonderful until she discovers maybe he isn’t.

This one will have you turning the pages as danger lurks, this one is filled with secrets from the past that have sprung up now to cause hurt and pain, will Brooke, Lizzie and Hope come through alive and well and then the twist at then had me shaking my head. This one is filled with fabulous characters good and bad and I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good twisty psychological thriller.

My thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for my copy to read and review.

My Sister’s Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh

My Sister’s Boyfriend is actually a continuation of Nicola’s book My Sister’s Husband, this is not mentioned until you read author’s note at the end of the book. As I have not read My Sister’s Husband, I felt lost in some parts of the story.

When Brooke first meets Noel, she feels an instant connection with him and it looks like Noel does too but her sister Lizzie is not happy. Lizzie has a bad vibe from the first moment she meets Noel and can not shake the bad feelings no matter how much Brooke says he is a changed man after he was in prison for four years.

The reader should be aware that this is Book 2 and much about the characters and the story is told in Book 1. I recommend that you start with the first book.

This book is suspenseful and it's full of twists and turns. The sisters have had conflicts for years over what has happened in their lives. Enter some new friends and a new boyfriend. There are a lot of secrets and hidden facts that need to come out. I did figure out the big secret, but even after that is revealed, there is still more to come. There is violence against women and animals so read with that awareness.

Man this book was so good. I had this book done in about 3 days which is very fast for me. While I had one twist figured out about halfway, it just added to the thrill because I was like when and how will it come into play. I was not disappointed one bit with all the suspense and family drama. Maybe that's what sucked me in was the family drama.

I will be adding Nicola Marsh to my list of author to check out because this book was so good!!! Highly recommend it

Could this family be the most dysfunctional family on the planet? Close enough at least. There are many family secrets, some no longer secrets, others remaining secrets. There is a lot of mistrust between people in this book, but not without reason. It took me awhile get my head around everything happening in the book, all the lies and people behaving strangely. Once I got past this phase I started enjoying reading about the characters, even though I would not exactly call them likable or relatable.

This is great read for people who enjoy sneaky people with ulterior motives. There are several twists in the book together with all the mistrust you can find in the world.

A twisted mash of secrets and family relationships.
Sister bonds are forever or do they have an expiration date?
Add a questionable man in the mix and things are bound to get interesting.
Marsh writes with such cunning intrigue and scenarios that will make people come back for more.
