A twisted mash of secrets and family relationships.
Sister bonds are forever or do they have an expiration date?
Add a questionable man in the mix and things are bound to get interesting.
Marsh writes with such cunning intrigue and scenarios that will make people come back for more.
One day, that was all I needed to read this book. While I could figure out part of the plot twist, some parts still caught me off guard. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a fast-moving thriller. I'm not going to lie; I wish I had a friend who also read this book because I have one question that seems unanswered; however, I still enjoyed this book.
The story is told from multiple points of view; I recommend you pay attention to the beginning of the chapters. That way, you know what point of view is being shared. This is a fast read for anyone who likes thrillers based on family dynamics and past decisions that come back to play a main role in the character's lives.
As a long time fan of Nicola Marsh I was so excited to be given the opportunity to check out this latest book. I had very high hopes going into this book and safe to say I was not disappointed. I didn't realise until l started that it was a sequel to my sister's husband but that just made things all the better because I already knew and enjoyed the characters. This book has a multitude of characters but I found each of them and their story lines to be very interesting and fast paced. Just like the first novel there is still strong lines of family tension and distrust which is exactly what drew me I to this book from the get go. This was an edge of your seat thriller that any one would be lucky to get their hands on. This was also a very fast paced book that I couldn't wait to devour. There was so much going on in this book that at times it was a little hard to keep things straight however I loved the characters yet again and I really found myself connecting with our main character a lot. There were a few different story lines taking place at the same time but each one of them was very attention grabbing and left me wanting more as a reader. I found each story line very strong which was surprising and I found it very easy to keep track of what was happening. Don't get discouraged by the multitude of characters or the different story lines because this book will knock your socks off and is well worth getting into. The ending was amazing and it connected everything perfectly. Check out this book for sure however if you do, make sure to have read the first book because it will answer a lot of questions that come up. Great read yet again and I can't wait to see what she comes out with next.
What a page turner, full of twists and unexpected turns right to the end. Some I got other's were a real surprise. A family drama full of lies that happen before the story starts but playout throughout. Very interesting. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy
Talk about a jaw dropping shocker!!!! Hold on to your hats as Nicola Marsh is going to take you on one wild ride with My Sister's Boyfriend! Whew! This book kept me turning the pages while on the edge of my seat, fully invested and loving every second of it! I have loved Marsh's writing for quite some time and love how she always delivers gripping and intriguing books.
This book touches on family, siblings, secrets, lies, betrayal and love. I was completely addicted to this book which focuses on estranged sisters (Brooke and Lizzie) and identical twin brothers (Noel and Ned). The book takes place in the past and in the present day. This is a book which I highly recommend going in knowing in as little as possible. There are quite a few characters, but I found it easy to keep track of all of them as Nicola Marsh did a great job creating their distinct personalities and motivations. There are also a few characters who I enjoyed booing and hissing it. Plus, the element of who-can-you-trust always appeals to me and Nicola Marsh nailed that with My Sister's Boyfriend. I had my theories but found my head spinning at quite a few twists and turns which left me reeling.
I enjoyed the POV's and the tension which flowed throughout the book. There was also a nice amount of suspense as well. When dread began to creep into the book, I could not turn the pages fast enough!
Nicola Marsh has dazzled me yet again with her wonderful writing, great likeable and unlikeable characters, well thought out plot and shocking reveals in this book. I look forward to what she writes next.
Well written, well thought out, tense, shocking, suspenseful, and dark.
This book was quite the wild ride with family drama and betrayal at the center of it all. There were so many twists and unexpected details that kept you hooked from the beginning until the end, trying to figure out the truth. Out of all the twists, I guessed one, but others I didn’t see coming at all. I also enjoyed reading from all the different characters’ POV as the story progressed. Overall, it was an enjoyable, fast paced read and I will definitely be checking out more books by this author. Thank you to Nicola Marsh, Bookouture, and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.
I thought My Sister‘s Husband was amazing and groundbreaking; ever since I read it, I always go around hailing it as one of my favourite books ever, and I actually have The Scandal by the same author on my TBR list.
My Sister‘s Boyfriend picks up after two years after the events from my sister‘s husband. I didn’t exactly like the way the characters lives ended up changing after the first book’s ending, but I still enjoyed the story. I knew the main twist, it was pretty obvious, as it is most of the time with twin plots in thrillers.
I did miss Freya as a character when coming back to the Shomack sister’s world, and even though I didn’t really like how the characters lives ended up being, I understand that without those decisions, the book couldn’t have become what it is. After finishing the book, I couldn't help but think, "Huh, you know what?" I would like another book focused now on Lizzie; I’m curious about her after this.”
Of course, you really do have to read My Sister’s Husband before this; I really promise you won’t regret it. As for this installment, it was entertaining, and I liked the feeling of nostalgia that the author brought to me when the characters started showing up.
The first book was twisty; this one did feel like a continuation, but above all, it felt even more like a bridge between My Sister’s Husband and a third book, so I think as a companion and a book that sets up the stage for another one is good, but if this does end up being just a duology, then I would give it a little bit more of a lukewarm feeling.
A goodish read although found for some reason it difficult to keep track of the various characters in the story a d this continued throughout
None the less a tense well written read
This thriller is full of different characters. I had some trouble keeping everyone straight, but eventually understood the relationship between everyone. I enjoyed the story and figured out the twist early, so I found myself just ready to finish it. Overall, though, it was good.
Thanks to NetGallery for the advance copy of this book.
Definitely my type of thriller book. It has so much suspense and mystery to it.
Family secrets!
I overall enjoy this one. I was trying to figure it out before it was revealed.
This was a good one!
Definitely recommend!
I received an ARC from NetGalley
Such a great read! With every turning page I wanted to continue reading to either trump or validate my suspicions. A turn of events and ending you wouldn’t expect!
This is a story that delves into the entangled lives of two families and the secrets they've long concealed. While the book had strong characters and was engaging in parts, I found the central twist somewhat predictable. Additionally, there was a notable amount of gaslighting throughout the narrative, which I felt was excessive at times. Overall, the book was decent, but these elements made it a mixed experience for me.
I always enjoy Nicola Marsh’s thrillers. This one is easy to read and I like the style and format where each individual character talks. It is fast paced and edge of your seat with some extremely unlikeable characters. I highly recommend this book!
O really enjoyed this edge of your seat thriller. A story of sisters, betrayal and family drama that they don't even understand. Two woman who just found out the were sisters. And one with a daughter that she thought died at birth being raised by her very own aunt. When an Aunts x boyfriend is released from prison you never know what will happen next.
I love this author and she didn't disappoint! I had to read carefully to keep the characters and their stories straight and enjoyed the build up and eventual twists and turns. Great psych thriller!
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! It was fast paced and twisty and I enjoyed the alternating perspectives and flashbacks. It reminded me a lot of the craziness that occurs in many of Frieda Mcfadden’s books, so if you’ve enjoyed her work, I think you’d like this one! It’s one of those books that reminds us that not everyone is to be trusted!
Definitely a book to read. I was pulled into the story and it did not let go. The book is well written with a strong character driven story and many a twists and turns
Recommended 4 star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love Nicola’s writing style. I was drawn in from the very start. Unfortunately, I figured out the plot too soon so it kind of frustrated me as I finished the book.
This is another great psychological thriller by Nicola Marsh. It’s fast paced, has hugely unlikeable characters and plenty of twists which provide a great recipe for a good book.
This was a captivating and entertaining story from start to finish, brilliantly well written too.
I thought the characters were great, and enjoyed getting to know them all, I liked how the story flicked back to the past through out the story so as to give us more insight into the two Twins Ned and Noah background.
There were a couple of good twists within the story, one of them I actually guessed quite early in the story, but it didn’t ruin the story for me at all. The other twist though was a total surprise and didn’t expect it at all.
So overall, another fabulous story from author Nicola March.
