Oh my god this book… it literally has me lost for words!

It is absolutely fantastic, full of gripping twists and suspense. It will definitely have you on the edge of your seat.
So many times I was scared for the main character throughout, and I was terrified of what was going to happen next.

No doubt about it this is going straight to the top of the charts!

My Sister's Boyfriend by new to me author N. Marsh, published by Bookouture is a gripping pageturner when I ever saw one.
Lizzie and Brook, her sister and Brooke's boyfriend Noel. Lizzie is a psychologist meets Noel, the newly released ex-con. And surprise, he's her sister's new boyfriend. Something about him just isn't right and Lizzie gets suspicious. Told in multiple povs - not my fav but fitting, the story is a bit hard to follow. Plot twists at large, twists and turns that had my head spinning and the furious finale oh my.

A fabtastic read, 4,5 stars

wow! this was an absolute page turner. I read this in 2 sittings. Which easily could have been 1 if I didn’t pick it up late the first time. I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to give away any spoilers but the twists in this book kept coming and coming! It did take me a second to realize who all the characters were and how they were connected to eachother but other than that it was an easy quick read and I would absolutely recommend anyone who likes thrillers/ mystery’s to pick this up!

read if you like:

summary:
This book is about two sisters, Brooke and Lizzie. When Brooke starts dating an ex-convict, Noel, Lizzie is admittedly concerned, having met Noel as part of her job working as an art therapy psychologist for the local correctional facility. While Lizzie gets to know Noel better, more red flags go up as she begins to wonder what his motivations are with Brooke, and if there’s more to it than just a casual relationship.

The story alternates POV’s between Brooke, Lizzie and Noel, both pre-incarceration and now. There are a LOT of secondary characters - Brooke’s housekeeper/Noel’s roommate Hazel, Brooke’s daughter Hope, her birth father, Noel’s brother, etc. which makes it a little hard to follow. There are a lot of backstories as well that are hard to keep up with, so highly recommend reading this book when you’re able to pay close attention! The plot moves quickly though which is great, and keeps you guessing on where it’s heading. The ending came as a COMPLETE surprise to me — I didn’t see it coming at all, which is the best kind of finish. My only complaint is that I felt like all of the sisters were fairly unlikeable, and I couldn’t find myself rooting for them the way I wanted to.

Thanks to Bookouture and Net Galley for the advanced copy! For a quick thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, check this book out when it releases on September 9!

Thrilling, quick paced read. Categorized as a psychological thriller, I was absolutely captivated by the family drama. There’s plenty in this book! The authors writing kept me intrigued from start to finish. I found myself guessing scenarios all throughout and found myself invested in the characters. I’m looking forward to reading the authors other works.

The story centers around Brooke, Lizzie, and Noel . Noel was recently released from prison and begins dating Brooke. Lizzie has doubts about him, but with all they’ve been through, will Brooke listen to her sister’s warnings? Noel has been honest about his past, but does Brooke really know the man she’s dating?

My Sister's Boyfriend is a fast-paced, twisty psychological thriller. It is actually a sequel, which I wish was advertised a bit more because I was pretty confused until I realized there was a whole book before this one. The mystery itself is separate from the first book; however, the relationships between all of the characters, which are quite complex, are based on the events from the first book. In My Sister's Boyfriend, Brooke begins dating Noel and believes she has finally found her person. However, Lizzie knows about Noel's past and is convinced that he can't be trusted. With this just being one of many issues between the two sisters, Lizzie doesn't know how she will be able to protect Brooke.

While My Sister's Boyfriend is fast paced with a lot of twists, it is also quite predictable and filled with a lot of unlikable characters. I was able to predict the "big reveal" from the start. Due to the predictability and the seriously unlikable characters, I didn't overly enjoy this read. There were also a few references to animal cruelty. I may have liked this book more if I had read the first installment. I'll admit I was confused about the family dynamics at times.

Wow, this was suspenseful! I was truly on the edge of my seat for the majority of the story. There were so many different ways the characters were intertwined, and the shocking twists along the way had me gripped! I read this in one sitting as I just had to know how it would end! I am still in shock.. amazing writing and wonderful book!

I received this ARC from NetGalley and Bookouture to read/review. All of the statements are my own opinions after fully reading this book.

I have read many books by this author and have loved everyone of them. So when I received this ARC copy I was so happy and I wasn't disappointed. What a thriller with twins, lies, deceit and of course murder. Plus so many twists I could not wait to finish it.

Noel and Ned are twins who grew up never knowing their father. Their mother did her best to raise the boys but always had a hard time. You see Ned was the evil twin who got into so much trouble that they had to keep moving just so Ned was gone. No matter where they moved to trouble followed them, trouble caused by Ned. Noel on the other hand was the good twin who tried to keep Ned out of trouble, but also had to leave a school that he liked because of Ned.

Then there is Brooke, Lizzie, Hope and Aunt Alice. This family was finally coming together until lies and betrayal crept in. Aunt Alice lied about beautiful Hope's mother who she really was. Everyone thought it was Freya Brooke's sister that died at her own hands. The truth is Brooke is Hopes mother along with Riker who is her father.. Then there is Lizzie who all along thought that Aunt Alice was her mother but that was a lie also. She was the sister of Brooke and Freya. So many lies, so much time lost to a family that needed each other.

Now Brooke meets Noel who she falls for immediately. Trying not to fall for him to quickly because she has trust issues she doesn't let Noel meet Hope. Plus Noel is an ex con who killed his evil twin by accident. Or was It? Lizzie works at the prison as a art therapist. She knows Noel and doesn't like him for some reason. Once she finds out Brooke is dating Noel she wants to warn her about him. How can she when she and Brooke have trust issues with each other. A fact that has kept Lizzie from being with Brooke and Hope. How can she make Brooke see that Noel isn't who he said he is? How can she prove this when Noel seem to always be two steps ahead of her. Plus since she has cut Alice out of her life who can she turn to? The only problem I had with this book was that since twins were involved I sometimes had to reread parts to make sure who I was reading about.

This book had me guessing at every turn. So many twists and turns a real thriller. The kind I just love to read. I could not put this book down and read it in one day. I will surely recommend it to all my reading friends. I will say that this is Ms. Marsh's best to date.

Thnak you NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC. Thank you Nicola Marsh for writing a real thriller. 4.5 stars

Thank you NetGalley! This book had me hooked from the very beginning! This story was different from most thrillers I’ve read! I did find there was a lot of characters & their stories to follow and that it was a bit predictable but that didn’t stop me from being invested in this book & finding out what would happen next. Definitely a page turner! So excited to read more from this author ⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of My Sister's Boyfriend by Nicola Marsh.
I love a good psychological thriller and after seeing early reviews, I was super excited to read this book. The story was okay, but seemed a bit flat and was rather predictable. I found myself skimming the pages just to get through this one, and sadly did not find anything thrilling in the whole book. 😢

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.

My Sister’s Boyfriend was creepy and had some solid twists that kept the story fresh. Following sister’s Lizzy and Brooke (the sister), we learn about their backstory with sister their Aunt Alice, dead sister Freya, and her daughter (now taken care of by Brooke), Hope. Interspersed we see Noel’s perspective (the boyfriend) and flashes to his past with his brother Ned, killed in an accidental car accident by Noel. It’s agreed Ned was a bad seed but it turns out he has ties to Freya and Hope. And with Lizzy having a bad feeling about Noel, despite his perfect image, the tension between Lizzy, Noel, and Brooke is clear. But what makes this book so effective as a thriller is the secrets everyone is keeping from the other and the dysfunctional family ties that are uncovered.

“My Sister’s Boyfriend” is a thriller by Nicola Marsh. I thought the idea of this story was a good one, but for some reason it just didn’t work for me. I didn’t really like any of the characters and found the plot predictable. There’s mistrust that seemed to drag on (granted, family dynamics) and I found myself skimming as the book went on. I wish I’d enjoyed this book more.

Well this book spun me on my head as i was totally going down the wrong path thinking I knew what was doing but I was glad to be proved wrong as it has a great ending. I loved this story of a young woman raising a child who has been kept from her for over a decade after the death of her sister. When she meets an ex con who wants to make a go of his life out of prison her whole families lives are thrown up in the air and some secrets are even bigger than anyone thought.

I like the story thought it was a little predictable for me right from the start. The characters were somewhat likeable. This could’ve been a little better.

Thank u netgalley for the arc

So I went back and skimmed the previous book to remind myself where the story stopped. This book was good. It had suspense and held my attention ton, but I had it figured out about halfway. There were a couple shocks at the end but for the most part I thought it was predictable. Still a good thriller!
