Thrilling, fun read kinda like the stuff from kindle unlimited but still very well written. It could be a bit vague at sometimes but it was a well written book that will likely have a lot of readers.

This book was really hard for me to finish. The story is good but the writing was monotonous and uninteresting. I am not going to review this on Goodreads.

This book tis very true considering abuse in every second house. A lot can happen when you witness abuse in a householding.

Wow , couldn’t put this book down. Really enjoyed it. So many twists and turns to it and also very sad!thanks for the early read.

Hush Little Baby by J.A. Baker is a fast-paced read that shifts between two distinctive storylines. Both will break your heart.
Melissa sees that infant Gabriel is in need of rescue from a dangerous home life. Feeling that she is well-placed to recognize the signs given her own abusive upbringing, she knows that she is taking a huge risk by fleeing with the child, but is ultimately convinced that she is doing the right thing.
I enjoyed the dual narratives of Melissa's past and present, and felt that her current motivations are credible given her traumatic history. I look forward to reading more from this author. 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

The story of Melissa’s childhood is realistic and heartbreaking. The unreliable narrator Melissa in the present is not entertaining and was predictable. The story fell flat. I rated this story 3 stars because of that.

Whew! This book took my breath away! Two storylines emerge: Nancy is a mother in 1970 living in an abusive marriage; Melissa is a grandmother in present day.
One day, Melissa abducts a baby, and everything changes in her world. As we learn more about Nancy’s and Melissa’s lives, connecting threads develop and lead to a surprising and heart-stopping conclusion. Fast-paced with dynamic characters, this was a whirlwind to read! The details are riveting and I couldn’t put this book down! A to-read book for the summer!

This is the first book I have read from J A Baker. It waa such a good read with lots of twists & turns. I enjoyed the past & present aspects of this book & how it all came together.
Check the trigger warnings as this book contains domestic violence, child abduction & mentions of suicide.
Thank you to Boldwood Books, Netgalley and J A Baker for an ARC copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a new author for me and I have to say I was impressed. Fast paced storyline that hooked me from the start that was both thrilling but tense at the same time. Plenty of twists and turns and the ending was great. I will definitely look to read more by this author.

I had such a difficult time to get into this book and I believe it’s because I don’t care for the protagonist.
Thanks to Netgalley and Book Whisperer for this ARC.

A baby…an accident…mystery…intrigue…recipe for a cannot put down novel. This talented author has written a page turner. Red herrings and secrets kept me interested. The baby…how could this woman keep a baby she stole? What about the witness? Where could she live with the baby and stay secreted? Questions answered…that being said…some language was distracting..thanks Netgalley.

I really enjoyed reading this book, I felt that the character development was well thought out and I enjoyed the easy flow if the story. I was honestly hooked from the first chapter.

Wow this has lots of twists and turns.it kept me on the of my seat all way through this book.
I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family.
I would also love to read more from this author.
Thank you very much .

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a kind of fun and quick and easy read. I didn't personally root for the protagonist because I failed to feel invested in her motivations, but it was a quick thriller.
I prefer this author's previous novel, though..

Hush Little Baby by J.A. Baker is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Baker skillfully weaves a tale of suspense and intrigue, delivering a story filled with unexpected twists and turns.
The novel centers around a young mother whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel when she starts experiencing disturbing and inexplicable events. As the tension builds, Baker expertly delves into themes of paranoia, trust, and the lengths one will go to protect their loved ones.
The protagonist is well-developed, and her descent into fear and uncertainty is portrayed with chilling realism. Baker’s ability to capture the psychological turmoil of her characters adds depth to the narrative, making their experiences feel both relatable and unsettling.
The plot is fast-paced and tightly constructed, with each chapter adding new layers of mystery and suspense. Baker’s writing style is crisp and engaging, with vivid descriptions that draw readers into the story and keep them hooked until the final page. The twists are cleverly executed, ensuring that the story remains unpredictable and captivating throughout.
While some secondary characters could benefit from further development, this does not detract significantly from the overall impact of the novel. The focus remains firmly on the central storyline, which is compelling and thought-provoking.
Overall, Hush Little Baby is a thoroughly enjoyable read for fans of psychological thrillers. J.A. Baker has crafted a tense and riveting story that will leave readers questioning everything and eagerly anticipating what comes next. This book is a testament to Baker’s skill in creating suspenseful and engaging narratives.

A good read, wasn't keen on Melissa or the two storylines but I did enjoy the book overall.
To be honest for me personally it wasn't a page turner nor did it keep me on the edge of my seat.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

A great read.
Melissa steals a baby from outside a house, she believes she has to protect this child. She takes him away to a remote cottage in Scotland. After all she is the baby's grandmother.
The story is told in 2 timelines but it is a gripping brilliant read.

I received this book from NetGalley.
Well, this book just starts with a bang. Melissa is crazy, it seems. Stealing a baby, knocking over a harmless, old man. I'm interested to see what happens next. The story also tells two different stories at once. Realising that Melissa's the girl from the other part of the story does make a bit of sense.
Melissa is a bit annoying because she keeps going on about how she can't do this and what was she thinking... And then tells herself that she did the right thing. But this continues over and over again. It's a bit much. She's made a decision and now she has to live with it.
I really thought that something had happened to George so it was a nice twist that something happened to the dad instead. It gives more explanation as to why Melissa is messed up when she seemed like such a sweet and loving child.
Plot twist: I did think that maybe Gabriel wasn't her grandson and she had taken someone else's while thinking it was him. I was not prepared for what actually happened - woah! That explains a lot.
Definitely a book I'd recommend!
