I ended up not finishing this book. I had a hard time getting into it. It was very slow going and hard to follow the different personalities of one of the characters.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Robert’s wife is killed in a car accident leaving him with a four year old child. He feels like his life is over and is standing by the river ready to end it all when he sees a woman fall in the water. He struggles to rescue her and for some odd reason must check on her in the hospital. He decides to bring her to his home to heal. Unknown to them they are connected by his wife’s accident— as is someone who is looking to kill Robert. How will it end? You will want to read this book- the beautiful relationship between Robert and the woman in the water. The relationship with the beautiful four year old. And the mystery of who and why someone is trying to kill Robert.

A good mix of mystery, romance, and second chances. Robert and Lilli have both suffered losses and in the grief end up saving each other from ending their own lives. In the process of saving each other, they start to set aside their grief and rebuilding a life together. But there is a villian out to get them.

Well written, descriptive, with a good dose of sadness, intrigue and side characters.

This was different from my normal read, but I still liked it. The suspense aspect of this novel was my favorite and I enjoyed seeing Robert and Lilly develop as characters.
