I loved this story! It was a great foray back into Regency that was so much fun. It had intrigue and mystery wrapped up in a sweet, sweet romance!

I loved this book it was a delightful tale with wonderful characters and settings. I received a review copy from NetGalley but the views and opinions expressed herein are my own.

This one was a little harder to get into, but I loved the combination of adventure and sweet romance.

This book was a fun one to read. I enjoyed reading it. It wasn’t as silly and light as some regency books, but the characters were likable and relatable.
I thought the book was well written and interesting. Can’t wait for more from this author.

I don’t know why but I had such a difficult time getting into this story. I just couldn’t seem to connect with the characters. However, the basic storyline is good and there are some good moments. One of my favorite moments is when Anna and James are dancing. I loved how James is willing to do anything to help Anna in her search for her brother. Overall an okay story just not a good fit for me.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

A beautiful regency romance that proves that love transcends time and distance.
Karen Tuft is easily one of my favorite regency authors and this book only solidifies that. While this isn’t my favorite of her books, it still has so many elements that I love.
The beginning of James and Anna’s relationship is rocky and a bit hostile, with both of them making assumptions about the other. The gentle and sweet way they come to love and respect each other was done so well and I really appreciated how the author made that transition seem genuine.
The adventure they embark on is interesting and keeps the reader engaged and hopeful that they will accomplish what they set out to do. Plus you get a fascinating glimpse into France during this time, and all of the upheaval and political unrest that comes from battles fought.
I loved this newest addition and finally getting James’ story, and I cannot wait for the rest of these characters (hint, hint Simon and Philip) to get their stories.

I really enjoyed the book, but it did drag in places. I also had a hard time reconciling the actions of Anna with the time period it was written in. To go so far from home without any real plan, and any protection? And of course it is a book, but she happens to stumble upon the only decent man in the area? It is a far reach. A lot of what happens in the book seems that way. It is a clean, HEA so those are marks in its favor.
I received an advance reader copy for a fair review. These are my opinions.

This was another great addition to the Proper Romance Series. It was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. Since I can't compare it to her other books, I don't know if it's better or the same. I was pleased, although I felt I needed a little more about the characters.
All Anna wants is to find her brother, so her awful cousin doesn't take his place, but the journey requires more than she bargained for. Anna is absolutely a stalwart heroine with a fierceness and determination to make any of her dreams or decisions possible. On her journey, she meets James, who decides that he really wants to help Anna and also can't help falling for her. I love a good he falls first/enemies to more story and this was no exception. Even though they start out disliking each other over miscommunication, they slowly start to see each other and slowly fall in love. There is wonderful historical detail and it was beautifully written. It was a slow burn story and the side characters were just as enchanting!

Follow James and Anna on an adventure with an ending nobody (not even me) saw coming!
I loved Lady Anna’s demeanor and courage! She was a leading lady you want to read.
James was hard not to fall for!
This was just so wonderful and I highly recommended this!

I recently finished “Lady Anna’s Favor” by Karen Tuft and while I enjoyed it overall, I couldn’t quite give it a full five stars. I’m a fan of “sweet” romances (because can we stop with the whole “clean” romance term? It kind of implies anything with a little more depth or complexity in the romance is somehow “dirty”), and this one definitely fit that mold.
Anna’s determination to find her brother in France and James’s honorable, swoon-worthy character made for an endearing pairing. There were plenty of beautiful moments between them, and I appreciated how they were both willing to make sacrifices for each other. That said, I wasn’t expecting so much of the plot to focus on their journey, and it was a bit much at times. It almost felt like the narrative slowed down too much, with long descriptions of travel that distracted from the progression of their relationship.
By the end, it felt like they had endured one hardship after another, which was a bit overwhelming. But even with those minor annoyances, it was still a solid read—just not quite as gripping as I’d hoped. Still, if you’re into sweet historical romances with lots of heart, you’ll likely enjoy it.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC. Review is completely voluntary.

An enjoyable historical fiction set in England and France, as lady Anna searches for her brother who seems to have disappeared. I didn’t love the FMC, she was frustrating at times and I’m not sure I recovered enough, but you could understand the desperation of having no male relative during that time and the desperation that would result. The story takes you to the realm of the French with a man who can’t let her do it on her own.
You’ll enjoy this if you like regency era fiction.

Reading a new Proper Romance novel is always exciting for me. "Lady Anna's Favor" is the latest Regency Romance by Karen Tuft. While this story can stand on its own, it features characters from previous books.
The story introduces Lady Anna Clifton, who has recently lost her brother and father. Her only family left is a soldier who is missing in France. Rather than let her awful cousin take over the estate, Anna bravely decides to search for her brother. With the help of Sparks and Mary, loyal family servants, Anna faces challenges she didn't expect.
On the journey to France, Anna meets James Jennings, a diplomat. At first, he doesn’t think much of her. However, he soon finds himself wanting to help her in her search. James begins to fall for Anna, and their teamwork brings them closer together. He becomes very protective of her, which speeds up their romance. The happy ending is a relief after all the difficulties they endure along the way.
If you enjoy Regency Romances and Proper Romance novels, this sweet love story will be a delightful read.

I read the first 30/40% of this book quickly and loved the meet cute with the grumpy hero who has his plans disrupted by a clueless heroine. (While Anna had some gumption her lack of planning throughout the whole book - especially towards the end was cringey).
Then things with my mom’s health really took a nosedive….as did my reading this book and it dragged on. The book. Unfortunately my mom’s health passed away. But I couldn’t get back into the story, I didn’t care about the characters or the almost instant like of James’ feelings. That really changed like a whirlwind and I don’t want to read “my Anna” one more time. The book really repeated a lot of things.
While I can saw I trudged through and finished it, I’ve enjoyed Tuft’s books in the past, so it’s surprising this was so rough. Maybe it was my circumstances but based on other reviews, I don’t think it’s only me.
Another review mentioned so many unanswered questions about the last 25% of the book and having it pointed out, there should’ve been answers! How did James have money again especially because he refused to use any of Anna’s money. What about the guy who sent robbers to take them? How did they get back if getting there was so long and such a trial? Plus I don’t know ages but Sparks and Mary have a romance? I think I dig that more than James and Anna. The romance writing wasn’t pulling at my heartstrings. 🤷♀️
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book. This book is available. And while it says it’s a stand alone, there’s a very confusing family tree which is overwhelming and mentions of other characters from other books. I think the family tree would’ve been better on the author’s website. Especially since this book is technically a debut with this publisher.
These are my own thoughts and opinions.

This is a stand-alone novel, but it is also part of a series. If I had known that I probably would have read the other books first. They are in order: The Earl’s Betrothal, The Gentleman’s Deception, Wager for a Wife, Kit and Elizabeth, The Duke Meets His Match, An Accidental Romance, Lady Walmsley’s Christmas Surprise, and Lady Anna’s Favor.
Anna‘s older brother John unexpectedly dies of pneumonia and shortly afterwards her father receives notice that her only other brother Avery has been wounded and is missing in battle. The news is so upsetting that it causes her father to die. She is the only one left of her family unless her brother Avery survived. Assuming Avery is also dead, their horrid cousin Ambrose is now the owner of the estate. Anna cannot stay in the same house as him and leaves immediately to try to find Avery in France with the help of Mr. Jennings.
I appreciate the clean content and beautiful cover, but I’ve read better books by this author. I didn’t love the war setting and the book feels forced rather than natural. Anna receives ridiculous comments from every man about her incredible beauty. Would she really have a close and equal relationship with her maid and Sparks being raised in the upper class? And most importantly, it wasn’t clear to me whether Anna is traveling to find her brother because she loves him, or because she’s worried about her own situation.
Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC to use for my review.

What a beautiful and sweet historical fiction. I love the determination of Lady Anna to find her brother. She doesn't let anything stop her or get in her way. It makes for a fun yet endearing story.

This was a good story. It started out with catastrophe hitting Lady Anna and her family, i.e. her father passed away suddenly following a letter received from the army indicating his last son and heir, Avery, had gone missing. Added to this, his heir apparent, John died just a few months previously. With the earldom passing to their nefarious cousin, she takes it upon herself to travel to France to look for her brother.
While in London, her contact, Lord Bledsoe was unable to find anything more on her brother’s present situation. With the help of the Duke of Aylesham, who recently married James Jenning’s sister, they travel on his yacht to France. James, a member of the diplomatic service to the crown, speaks fluent French among other languages and after seeing Anna and her travelling companions, decides to go along for the ride to help as he cannot leave a gentle woman to fend for herself in a country she does not know anything of and neither does she speak the language.
Lots of challenges along the way that you hope will resolve sooner so they can find Avery and set everything to rights. I enjoyed the book but wished it were a little shorter. I received an ARC from the publishers and NetGalley and submit my honest review voluntarily.

The writing is good and the story is okay it just wasn't for me. There are also too many characters to keep track of.

I was drawn to Lady Anna’s Favor first because of its cover (gorgeous!), and it sounded so unique and interesting. I liked elements of this story, but overall it wasn’t a favorite. I’m certain other readers will enjoy parts of it I didn’t as much, but I did like the setting and the subtle humor Karen Tuft weaves into her stories. I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try if you enjoy Regency romance. 2.5/5 stars
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I found this a captivating tale of determination, danger, and romance, set in 1814 London and France. Having recently lost her eldest brother and her father, Lady Anna Clifton is willing to risk everything to find her missing brother. Her path crosses with James Jennings, a man as compelling as he is exasperating, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey.
Anna's circumstance is compelling and relatable. I loved her determination and resourcefulness while facing the uncertainty of her brother’s fate and the threat of losing her home. Her decision to take matters into her own hands—venturing into dangerous territory to find her brother—makes her a heroine worth rooting for. I know I'd never be brave enough to venture into another country without knowing the language or having any contacts there.
Mr. James Jennings is the perfect complement to Anna’s fiery spirit. He's initially dismissive and exasperated by her boldness, but soon reveals layers of loyalty, courage, and charm. I loved the enemies' vibe and how their relationship evolved naturally, from misunderstandings and clashing personalities to a partnership marked by mutual respect with an undercurrent of attraction.
I loved the dual point of view, all the close proximity (due to their traveling together), and how the story intertwined the romance with a gripping mystery. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres, so I loved that Anna and James' journey through France is detailed. It drew me into the story as they pieced together the clues about her brother’s whereabouts. I loved getting updates on some of the Jennings siblings and can't wait to read the rest of their stories! This book is part of a series with interconnected characters but can easily be read as a standalone!
I received a copy (physical and digital) from the author and publisher, Shadow Mountain Publishing, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
