Wow! 5 🌟 for “The Inheritance” by Trisha Sakhlecha How far will a family come together and go to cover up a murder? Twists and turns bring together a wealthy family on a remote island and one member winds up dead. The epilogue was literary perfection.
Thank you Net Galley and Pamela Dorman Books/Viking for the ARC and allowing me to provide an honest review.

The Inheritance by Trisha Sakhlecha offers an intriguing premise and a well-constructed plot, but it falls short of its full potential. The story, centered around family secrets and the complexities of inheritance, promises drama and suspense, but it occasionally lacks the punch needed to keep readers fully engaged.

Sakhlecha's writing is strong, with vivid descriptions and a clear sense of place. The characters are well-developed, each with their own motivations and flaws. However, at times, the pacing feels uneven, with certain sections dragging and others feeling rushed. This inconsistency can make it challenging to maintain a steady connection to the narrative.

The plot twists, while interesting, are somewhat predictable, and the story doesn't always deliver the level of tension and surprise one might hope for in a thriller. Despite this, there are moments of genuine emotional depth and insight into family dynamics that are compelling and thought-provoking.

Overall, The Inheritance is a decent read with solid character development and an engaging premise, but it doesn't quite reach the heights of a standout thriller. It's a book that may appeal to readers looking for a family drama with a touch of mystery, but it might not fully satisfy those seeking a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat experience.

Most family reunions end in tears. This one will end in murder! Good book! This book had suspense, murder, mystery, plenty of secrets, intrigue, a good who done it and a few twists and turns! The story was interesting! It’s definitely worth reading but not one of my top favorites! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

This book started out slow and continued slow. I found myself kind of zoning out while reading. It didn't leave any lasting impression on me.
