You know what? I’m going to round up my rating, because this really does wrap up the series with a swoony little bow. This was tracking closer to 4 stars for me throughout (the relationship development just wasn’t strong enough), but my heart was fluttering by the end. Borison has such skill at writing soft, tender romances with the BEST found family vibes. This series has built such a strong foundation of community and family - those elements truly do steal the show here, overshadowing the central romance. I loved the sexual chemistry between Charlie and Nova, but I wouldn’t have minded more scenes with them building their emotional connection. Still, I had such a smile on my face when I turned the final page, so I can’t call it anything other than a win.

The story follows Nova, a tattoo artist who is stressed about opening up her own shop. There’s so much pressure to get things right that she’s stuck standing in place. So when a gorgeous man flirts with Nova yet again, she decides to finally take him seriously. Charlie has been flirting with Nova for so long that it feels like second nature, so when she offers him a night tangled up in the sheets, he isn’t sure what to think. They say they’re just scratching an itch, but as one night becomes two (and then three), it starts to feel like something else altogether.

It’s been nearly two years since we’ve had a new book in this series, and I can still remember my love of this town. You can technically read each book as a standalone, but I really don’t recommend that. Catching up with the townspeople is half the fun, and the catalyst to a lot of the swoons. There honestly were not a ton of swoons to Nova and Charlie’s relationship until the final act. Their relationship starts casual and stays that way throughout, with small glimpses of a deeper connection between them. The first spicy scene is breathtakingly intimate and playful, so I was excited to see where things would lead. It did feel like there were a few missed opportunities - a scene showcasing their pre-hookup chemistry would’ve been appreciated, as would more time spent with them on the page together. As much as I liked the community feel, that took Nova and Charlie on more individual journeys than anything. Before I talk myself into a 4-star rating, let me just say that it all came together at the end, in a way that was heartwarming and emotional. I’ve loved getting to know the people of Lovelight, and I cannot wait to see where Borison’s writing goes from here.

Audio note: The audio is solid! Pippa Jayne is a narrator I’m only familiar with because of this series, but her voice has really grown on me during that time. There’s something very distinctive about it, but it’s soothing and relaxing - perfect for these vibes. Benjamin D. Walker is new-to-me, and his voice is great. I love the deep tone, and he was so easy to listen to. The only issue was that I couldn’t always decipher which character was speaking when Walker narrated, but it was usually easy enough to figure out from the context. The runtime (11-12 hours) made this a two-day binge for me, but I was always excited to get back to it. It’s a fast burn and there’s actually a significant amount of spice, so not sure I’d recommend this as a workday listen. But it was enjoyable in the format, and I certainly didn’t mind the audio experience.

This fourth and final book set in Inglewild has a taut cord of sexual tension running straight through the center of town and might be directly connected to the rotary phone Evelyn probably uses in the phone tree.

Also? This might be my favorite of them all.

There’s something delicious about two people who are desperately attracted to one another, fully engaged in hot passionate luv…while also struggling personally with feeling their worth, always worrying about, taking care of everyone else.

Nova is back with her family and this time it’s personal (did you read that in trailer movie guy voice?). She’s opening her own studio, her own space to tattoo, and she’s determined for it to be a success. Racked with lingering feelings of guilt that Beckett gave up too much so that she could have what she wanted, she’s internalizing the concern and it’s causing self doubt and family strain.

Enter Charlie.

Stella’s long lost brother from another mother, he’s wrapped a little too tight despite his general caretaker-good-guy vibe, trying to make sure everyone around him is happy, without ever thinking he deserves happiness of his own.

The attraction between the two is palpable and so they figure the best way through is to, well, succumb.

To be clear, Charlie is just as interested in being a people pleaser in the bedroom as he is outside of it. (insert red cheeked me, fanning myself)

While Charlie is in town for six weeks to care for the farm in Stella’s absence, they decide they can feed each other’s need and then call it quits, no hard feelings.

Guys? Does that ever work?

Will they be willing to tell each other how they really feel and allow themselves to see their own worth? I mean, of course, because BK Borison writes HEA, but there’s a lot of fun (and no third act break up!) getting there.

The banter is top notch, the narration strong, the spice spicy…but the best selling point for this one are two damaged people finding what they need in the other. I loved it.

Thanks to @netgalley, @dreamscape, and @bkborison for the early audiobook to read and review. Out today!

“I wanted to give you this flower because I want you to know that you don’t have to be anything other than exactly who you are. I know you’ve been hiding, Charlie. But I see all of your colors. The bright ones and the dark ones too. I see how you’re always tilting towards the sun. Forget-me-nots were always my favorite, and—well. You’re kind of my favorite too.”

BK Borison had no business making me feel so damn much with this book. I signed up for a cutesy Christmas farm conclusion, NOT FOR TEARS AT MIDNIGHT BECAUSE I RELATED A LITTLE TOO HARD TO CHARLIE 🥹😭😫

I had to sit on this review for a night and sleep on it to settle how I feel because if I thought Beckett would own my heart forever… I was so so wrong!!

The relationship between Charlie and Nova was so absolutely amazing and heartwarming and just GOALS! No third act break up. They communicated well IMO because with all the fears Charlie has, it makes sense he wouldn’t feel like he was enough to ask Nova for more, that he deserved her and that she would want him completely. Seeing their relationship develop and grow since the wedding dance was so incredibly cute and sweet. It filled me with so much love because Becks did such a good job bringing their love to light, it felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading/listening to this book.

The audiobook… godsssss let me tell you about how absolutely amazing the narration was in this audiobook. This is my first audio by Benjamin D Walker and it won’t be the last because this man did SO FREAKING WELL as Charlie!! God, I started crying because his voice broke at a specific part where the characters voice was also breaking and it felt like the sky opened and I glimpsed a bit of heaven. The intonation was so good and he poured his whole into the character. It really matched Charlie’s playful ways. Pipa James was absolutely amazing as Nova!! everything I wanted and more 😮‍💨

The hand necklace kink in me was so satisfied with this book because Becks didn’t come to play with the spice here. This is the edge of light kink I love to see in romcoms because it makes them so much more special to me.

This is definitely my favorite book in the series. The way the town comes together at the end. The addition to Stella and Luke’s story was so freaking sweet my teeth ached 🥹 It was simply the perfect conclusion to Lovelight Farms while also focusing on the love between these two and their own happiness.

I’m am beyond sad to see this series end but at the same time I can’t wait for the next adventure. If there’s a guarantee in this life, is that is BK Borison writes it, I’m going to read it.

Thank you Dreamscape Media & Berkley for the ARC/ALC.

now I'm down bad crying over charlie milford 💐 business casual was THE perfect book to conclude (for now) the lovelight series by b.k. borison 🐣

I had the biggest smile on my face while reading this book- I was literally pausing the audiobook every thirty seconds to highlight *another* line. watching this relationship develop was beautiful. I saw little pieces of myself in nova and charlie and for that, I'm grateful.

despite the constant gossip with the phone tree, inglewild is THE town of my dreams and I would move there in a heartbeat. I can see it already, getting morning coffee with a treat at layla's bakehouse while playing with beckett's newest animal, I'd be the happiest girl in the world. catching up with all of the couples from the previous books within this one was so lovely!

I'll forever be thinking about my charlie boy 🧸 five of the biggest stars! thank you dreamscape media for an early audio copy, happy pub day!

"'I've never been anyone's favorite.' 'Well... you're mine.'"
I love Charlie and Nova more than I thought I ever could. Their individual struggles added so much to their characters. Sometimes romance books float into having perfect characters with the perfect romance, but this does not fall into this category. We are able to see these two go from tolerating each other to not being able to leave their love bubble.

Charlie desperately wants to not be seen as too much or a burden. Nova does amazing reassuring him and making sure that he knows that she does not see him that way. He is such a sweet boy who is incorrectly perceived as a playboy with his Nova girl.

I love that Nova's relationship with her siblings is also explored. Being the youngest sibling always comes with its downfalls, especially when the family member you idolize seems to be the only person who believes in you. I loved the closure she got about being "enough" for her siblings.

These two were so perfectly narrated and I could not have asked for a better pair to bring these two characters to life!

I am so grateful to have received an ALC from Dreamscape Media on Netgalley

Gosh, I really want to like this author's book series "Lovelight," so much I think I have attempted 2 of these books and still just can't get through them. I just think this author isn't for me. But I have seen and heard GREAT AND AMAZING THINGS about this series. Just not for me, so with that; Business Casual was decent but just wasn't holding my attention.
The audiobook narrator did a great job.

Nova is preoccupied opening her tattoo shop. The one thing she doesn't need is Charlie, the cheerful businessman who can't seem to leave her alone. After some back and forth, the two decide to "just get it out of their system". But one time won't be enough.

This was such a good book! Here's what I loved:

Charlie: I literally adore this man. He's a gold retriever who I wish I could take home with me! He's funny and sweet, and so enamored with Nova that it's literally adorable.

Nova: She's amazing. Strong, determined, and sassy. The way she loved her family and her life...she was relatable and I wanted all good things for her.

The town: I love this town and the people in it! Nova's family were some of my favorite parts of this book!

The narration: Pippa Jane and Benjamin D. Walker were perfect in this. Pippa in particular does such a great job with all of the characters. Her male voice is top notch!

All in all, this was a really good small town, friends to lovers audio!

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!

I’m incredibly thankful for the advanced copy of the audiobook from NetGalley.

I LOVED Lovelight but this book was not plot driven enough for me. I did find the characters endearing and I do enjoy character driven stories normally but here I needed more chemistry and likability, It was many, many hours of no progression or resolution, circles. I know a lot of people did love this so I am happy for them :)

Thank you @dreamscape for the #gifted ALC to read and review.

The Lovelight series’ final installment is here! I’ve been waiting for Charlie and Nova on pins and needles.

You can expect —> small town, close knit friends group, black cat/golden retriever, secret hookups, phone trees, brother’s friend

Wow, Nova was a little mean 😅😅 she for sure had her claws out. Never has trope been so accurate. Sweet Charlie was just such a simp for her. And when she finally responds to his constant flirts with an offer of her own, he is floored.

These two were a spicy treat. I enjoyed their antics. Flustered Charlie was adorable. And I would love for Nova to tattoo me. The town is just as wonderful and nosy as it’s always been. There was a lot of the couples from the previous books in the series. So although it’s an interconnected standalone, you’ll get the most out of this series by reading the full series in order 🫶🏼

Nova propositions Charlie at his sister's wedding, but quickly rescinds her offer when he's shocked into silence. Charlie has flirted with Nova as long as he's known her so her proposition catches him off guard. The pair starts a 'business casual' situationship. I loved this audiobook! I love Nova- she's a tattoo artist opening up her own studio. A female entrepreneur is one of my favorite things-especially because she's covered in tattoos! Charlie and his ADHD are represented well- I need to use some of his coping tactics because ADHD procrastination is no joke.

Awesome story! I need to go back and listen to the first 3 books in this series! Thank you for the ALC for my honest review.

"You don’t need my name on your skin for me to belong to you”

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the gifted audio version of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book is everything. I didn’t think it would be possible for any book to top In the Weeds for me but this did it. It is fantastic -- my favorite of the series and one that I can’t wait to go back and read again.

The audio version is just tremendous. It has a dual narration and both narrators are phenomenal. You can feel the emotion of the story as you listen. I hated to press pause and wound up devouring the whole thing in less than 24 hours. I would highly recommend it!

I’m pretty sure that Inglewild is my happy place. Each of these books has their own beautiful moments but the banter and love between Nova and Charlie had me swooning from start to finish. It was everything I was hoping it would be --- fun, spicy, vulnerable, heartfelt and hilarious. The number of times I laughed out loud while listening to this book was wild. Like the others in the series it has small town vibes and a cast of characters that is unmatched.

I simply loved it. My favorite thing about books is that they are always there just waiting for you to enjoy. Despite this being the last of the series, Lovelight Farms is a place that I know I will be visiting again and again. I love the way certain books make you feel and this one is it for me --- perfection!

Gosh, I just LOVE the Lovelight Series!!

* small town
* grumpy-ish (FMC) / sunshine (MMC) -- MAJOR GOLDEN RETRIEVER VIBES 😻
* Dual POV
* open door
* No 3rd Act break-up

Nova and Charlie are just 🧑‍🍳💋 !! I loved how playful they were and this silly and adoring friendship grew into so much more! What starts out as a casual fling turns into deep feelings, individual growth, and honestly, their open communication was so REFRESHING.

I also just cannot get enough of this town and family - they're all noise bodies and the phone tree will always be epic!

So cute. Loved the banter. He fell first and he fell harder. Love the small town, found family feel.

Going back to Lovelight Farms is always a joy, but reading Charlie and Nova’s story gave me a permanent smile on my face. I just loved them.

I loved their opposites attract connection and their banter was hilarious. And boy does it get steamy at times. 🔥

And of course I adored all the crossovers of the main characters from previous books. It’s like getting a little glimpse back into a fictional world you thought was over.

As far as the audio goes, I wasn’t in love with the male narrator. His voice just didn’t fit my expectations of Charlie.

4.5 Stars Business Casual, the fourth book in the Lovelight series, is the perfect way to end this series! (though I'm still very sad that it's over)

Tattoo artist Nova Porter isn't looking for love, especially not with buttoned-up investment banker Charlie Milford. She's too busy setting up her new studio for a relationship, but a one-night-stand isn't out of the question. Charlie's only in Inglewild for a month before heading back to his life in New York. There's been an attraction since the two met and surely one night will get it out of their systems. Right? One explosive night turns into something more, but with Charlie's time in town dwindling down, something between them might be worth investing more time.

The Lovelight series is so charming, with a quirky small town, eclectic characters, and a beautiful Christmas tree farm. Business Casual has all that charm and more, in the shape of Charlie Milford. Charlie is too sweet and throws his love and support around like candy. Nova is snarky and funny, the perfect complement to Charlie. I loved the fast friendship that they formed and the genuine connection they shared beyond their physical one. I really didn't want this one to end and I'm still hoping for an extended epilogue with a peak into everyone's HEA 🤞 The narrators were perfect for Nova and Charlie!

Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Romance, and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

A classic Hallmark movie in book form, but make it “capital-S” spicy.

B.K. Borison's "Business Casual" checks all the boxes of a good rom com. Small town, best friend’s sister, over-worked main character from the city. Mostly light and low stakes, but with some poignant moments and mental health representation.

Charlie and Nova were the perfect match. He’s the golden retriever funny guy that EVERYONE adores (with some surprises just for Nova… IYKYK) and she’s the tough, closed-off tattoo artist. They remind me of Wes and Ada from Lyla Sage's Swift and Saddled.

That said, the audiobook of Business Casual fell a little flat for me. This is absolutely just my own preference/interpretation here, but it was one of those listens where the voices just didn’t match up with the personalities I imagined and even the in-text dialogue.

Overall, I think most romance readers are going to eat this one up when it comes out this Tuesday, July 16 -- and I'll certainly be recommending it to my audience.

Thank you, as always, to Dreamscape and NetGalley for access to this ALC.

i was tempted to just put "HEY NOVA GIRL" as my final review but this baby deserves more of my words bc i loved it SO SO MUCH!!!! a new all time fav romance.
from start to finish business casual by b.k borison was an absolute masterpiece of a romance. we've all been waiting
*patiently* for the last lovelight novel and getting to finally experience the beauty that is charlie and nova made the wait so worth it. every aspect of this small town, black cat x golden retriever trope, swoon-worthy love story was utter perfection. charlie is my ultimate book boyfriend and nova is my girl. i felt so seen through both nova and charlie's characters. if i could pick a town to live in, it would be inglewild. i never wanted this book to end but i also couldn't put it down. i felt all the emotions with this one. endless tears, laughs and blushing!!! charlie + nova are a new all time fav bookish couple/love story! i am giddy every time i think about them (and trust me when i say they haven't left my mind since starting this book). becs can do no wrong in my eyes. you can tell that every. single. detail. of this book was written with such love and admiration. you can feel becs heart poured out into the pages of this novel. the lovelight series will forever hold a permanent place in my heart and that acknowledgment at the end had me in tears (6). i can't wait for you all to read it!!!! pub date: july 16th 2024!!!

the audio was quite honestly phenomenal. these narrators brought this story to life. i loved every second. i can confidentially say this is my favourite novel of all time.
