I thought that this was a lovely little book!

My daughter is a massive fan of dinosaurs and really enjoyed this book.
We read the book together and thought that the illustrations were wonderful, nice, bright and clear and they brought the book to life.

I really liked the idea behind this book and the comparisons between the larger and smaller dinosaurs. The book is easy to follow and understand and it is great for the age range given too - I think it would be a great book to have in primary school classes and loved that the little dinosaurs also got a mention as they are so often overlooked.

It is 4.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 5 stars for Goodreads and Amazon - very highly recommended!

Excellent dinosaur book for early readers (elementary) that does not talk down to the children. It includes the scientific names of the dinosaurs. The pictures are good--and not babied. I will be buying hardback copies for my youngest grandchildren, and I suspect it will become a favorite book.

I have this book three stars. It was an okay book. The story wasn’t that deep but I liked that it told about all kinds of different dinosaurs. It was nice to read.

Roarsome Minis: The Tiny Dinosaurs that made a big impact!

My budding palaeontologist and I loved "Dinosaurs Can be Small by Darrin Lunde. This fun-filled non-fiction book took us on a fascinating dive into the world of dinosaurs, with eye-popping illustrations and a peek at some of truly quirky, and tiny lesser-known dinos around! We thought the visual size comparisons were perfect to really grasp how big, and how small some dinosaurs could be. My dino-loving son was enthralled by this book, and I loved reading about some dinosaurs I had not previously heard of. This was no repetition of every other dinosaur book on the market! We had a roar of a time discovering some of the colossal (and reinstated dinosaur species i.e. Brontasaurus) and the tiny creatures of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous period! We also loved discovering how these mini dinosaurs made such a big impact on the world as we know it today!

"Dinosaurs Can Be Small" is a must have book for the shelves of any young palaeontologist!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Charlesbridge for the ARC of this book; it was fabulous!

Very cute way to discuss dinosaurs big and small. A entertaining read and illustrations were entertaining and showed the size difference between dinosaurs. I was very thankful for the break down of the names as well. My littles really enjoyed trying to say the names and learning about new dinos.

Thank you Net Galley, Darrin Lunde and Charlesbridge for allowing me to review.

Six small prehistoric creatures (technically, not all are dinosaurs) are described in simple but clear terms in this factual book that resembles a picture book. They are compared to larger dinosaurs like the T-Rex to show their similarities and differences, and include microceratus, micropachycephalosaurus, nemicolopterus, mixosaurus, magyarosaurus, and compsognathus. A paragraph compares the two along with a chart showing their size difference. The full color digitally created illustrations realistically show the dinosaurs in a variety of colors and with expressive eyes. This will work well as a read-aloud for classrooms or at storytime due to the brief text, attractive illustrations, and popular topic.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A kids nonfiction book about big dinosaurs and the many small dinosaurs too.

This is a fun way for children to learn about dinosaurs and the meteor that made them extinct, my most favourite part was seeing that it shows how to properly pronounce each dinosaurs name, so you can teach your kids to sound out the name.
The art work is fantastic, so much detail and time was taken into the art work of this story! I will definitely be sharing this book with friends and family.

What a wonderful way to mix non fiction with much needed SEL. I cannot wait to read this one to my kindergarten students! The illustrations and the new words, even for the teacher, are amazing!

Being big isn't everything! Such a great lesson for little kids. I never say no to dinosaurs, and this book has cute pictures and a great theme. It's fun to read about smaller dinosaurs and how they lived. In the end, being small probably saved their lives
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Dinosaurs Can Be Small is a fantastic picture book that highlights some of the smallest dinos around! I loved that it included my favorite dino, the Compsognathus! The illustrations were adorable, and there were nice accompanying facts with each one.

Thanks to NetGalley, Charlesbridge, and Darrin Lunde for the chance to read and review! My opinions are my own.

I don’t think there is a more popular topic for children than dinosaurs, and for good reason. I love that this book focused on smaller dinosaurs, describing a well-known large dinosaur and its smaller counterpart. The author also laid out a great case for the benefits of being small. I appreciated the predictable structure of the book, which can be beneficial for younger children.

My favorite part of the book was the glossary of different dinosaurs at the end, showing the reader how their names link to various Greek root words. This would be a great book in the classroom for introducing root words.

Dinosaur books are always popular, and this book of pint sized dinosaurs is sure to be a big hit! An excellent addition to any library picture book collection, caregivers will appreciate the handy pronunciation guides on each page and although some young readers may be disappointed by the lack of detail in the color-washed illustrations, they will certainly enjoy learning more about dinosaurs that are "just their size." Perfect for inclusion in a library summer learning backpack program or in partnership with a local museum! Thank you to NetGalley for access to this delightful arc.
