Dinosaurs Can Be Small is a fantastic picture book that highlights some of the smallest dinos around! I loved that it included my favorite dino, the Compsognathus! The illustrations were adorable, and there were nice accompanying facts with each one.

Thanks to NetGalley, Charlesbridge, and Darrin Lunde for the chance to read and review! My opinions are my own.

I don’t think there is a more popular topic for children than dinosaurs, and for good reason. I love that this book focused on smaller dinosaurs, describing a well-known large dinosaur and its smaller counterpart. The author also laid out a great case for the benefits of being small. I appreciated the predictable structure of the book, which can be beneficial for younger children.

My favorite part of the book was the glossary of different dinosaurs at the end, showing the reader how their names link to various Greek root words. This would be a great book in the classroom for introducing root words.

Dinosaur books are always popular, and this book of pint sized dinosaurs is sure to be a big hit! An excellent addition to any library picture book collection, caregivers will appreciate the handy pronunciation guides on each page and although some young readers may be disappointed by the lack of detail in the color-washed illustrations, they will certainly enjoy learning more about dinosaurs that are "just their size." Perfect for inclusion in a library summer learning backpack program or in partnership with a local museum! Thank you to NetGalley for access to this delightful arc.
