This was fun! Be prepared to suspend your disbelief and just go with it. I was pleased there was an actual plot instead of just random hijinks and sex. How do I describe this crazy ride? Kind of like Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians (and just as spicy!) crossed with Jurassic Park, and make it a threesome. That's usually not my thing, but it worked here.

I read the title of Kimberly Lemmings latest novel and I know the cover and title says it all but I still had no idea where we were going with this and what to expect and I have to say, I was not let down. It was a ridiculous, over the top, action packed, spicy romantic comedy that never let up. I raced through it laughing the whole time while Kimberly Lemming did what she does best. I will always pick up her books.

Thank you @NetGalley and @penguinrandomhouse for the ARC. This was only my second Alien romance book and it was good. I really liked our main character Dorothy, she was independent and strong. Dorothy gets abducted and does not realize that she is part of an experiment to mate with Aliens who look like Satyrs. One of the problems is she is on a new planet that looks like home but has dinosaurs and warring clans from another planet. The only part I did not like was the insta-love troupe.

This book was so much fun to read. Lemming writes such beautiful, complex, fun characters and I love watching them get to know each other. One of my favorite parts of the book is the friendship between Toto and Dory. Obviously the relationships between Dory, Sol, and Lok are also so much great to dive into and are super hot as well. But it’s the friendships that really stand out! I’m hoping we’ll get to see a book featuring Blair at some point.

The only thing I disliked about the book was just how many different things (dinosaurs, lions, aliens, knotting, rom-com tropes, giant frogs?, etc) there were all at once. It was a lot at times. But also so fun and escapist and at the end of the day I had a blast reading it

This book is bonkers. Lemming throws everything at this novel and somehow it works. If you are looking for a sexy alien romance you can’t go wrong with this one.

I loved every second of this alien rom-com - which took me by surprise, because alien romance isn't a favorite of mine, and I've struggled to really get into other books by this author. This is steamy and hilarious, with loveable characters and really fun world-building. I couldn't put it down and am excited for what comes next from Lemming!

I really, really wanted to like this one. The art on the cover is absolutely gorgeous and the blurb, right up my alley. But it was a slog, a rambling, slightly boring slog.

Not enough of anything for me. I needed more plot, more flirting (the meeting to spice went too fast), & the FMC need more of a personality. I was very disappointed by this. I liked her fantasy books way better.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

This was everything the title promised it would be! It was a short read but so much fun and highly entertaining, I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you PRH Audio for the listen, and Berkley for the ebook #BerkleyPartner

This was probably the wildest, most outlandish book I’ve ever read (listened) to, but boy was it a fun ride.
It felt like Mad Libs but make it a plot— and it worked. There was real back story here— she’s an animal scientist and she was abducted to another planet as part of a breeding program to help populate the planet. The whole planet is essentially a test zone of what each species like and getting them to cohabitate. On this planet there are also dinosaurs, and talking owl things that are the scientists conducting this experiment. Oh and a talking lion bestie that also may or may not have killed her in the very beginning leading to her abduction.
I think my favorite character was Toto, the lion. Just the line delivery and the bluntness—- it was chef’s kiss.
Again, what a fun read!

I wanted to read an adventure book and I thought this would be perfect! Although the premise sounded great and the beginning was going okay….I ended up DNFing around 30% in. I wanted to love this but I couldn’t get past the alien romance lol. I have realized that maybe it’s just not for me. I’m sure other people would love to give this one a try. It was fun up until the spicy parts. But that’s just me! Thank you again Berkley Romance for the finished copy.

*note I did not finish this book, but I will give this book a 3 star rating for the purposes of submitting this review.

Kimberly lemming has a great balance of making an interesting and past paced plot while also making me actually laugh out loud. The amount of times I caught myself laughing to myself is embarrassing but worth it!

Dorothy (Dory) Valentine, is a nearly PhD wildlife biology student who dreams of being a zoologist. Her life takes a wild turn when she is attacked by a lion and subsequently abducted by aliens. She crash-lands on a vibrant planet filled with dinosaurs and meets two alluring alien males, Sol and Lok. The story blends humor, adventure, and unexpected romance as Dory navigates her chaotic new reality. The aliens’ forced attraction through a hormone-laced dart and guage measuring their attraction by a owilsh voyeur. With a mix of comedy and thrilling escapades, Dory must confront her feelings and the bizarre circumstances that brought her to this unusual world. Does she want to get back to earth?

I will admit that the alien romance is not my usual choice. The title stuck out to me along with the wild cover. I couldn't resist. Readers will appreciate the unique premise that combines sci-fi elements with romantic tropes. The witty banter and strong character development make Dorothy relatable, while her interactions with the charming but dangerous aliens, Sol and Lok, create a compelling MMF love triangle. The humor and chaos keep the pace lively, ensuring an entertaining read. Additionally, the underlying themes of consent and self-discovery add layers to the sexy escapades. Readers drawn to fantastical settings, strong female leads, and steamy MMF dynamics will find this book enticing. The wild and wacky plot, quirky characters, and vibrant world make it a delightful escape for those seeking to push their romance boundaries. I thought it was fun, but totally wild. It won't be for every reader. You have to go into it suspending your expectations of reality...but then you can start counting the creative ways Dory gets her orgasms. There might be an underlying message about the incompetence of bureaucracy, which clearly transcends all alternate realities 🤣

Thanks so much to Berkley Romance for the free book!

Kimberly has done it again. What a romp. Her books have such an hilarious and swoony vibe that I just can’t get enough of. It’s impossible to read one of her books and not have the time of your life. Basically, a human animal researcher gets beamed up, along with a lion and find themselves dumped on an earth-like planet. A planet where modern animals roam along with dinosaurs and a few hot humanoid aliens that were also taken from their home planet and dumped. Then whoops, she got dosed with a love serum and now is “mated” to two hot alien dudes. That’s the plot.

Expect:
-MMF (human FMC, 2 alien MMCs)
-Black FMC
-a talking lion side character/bestie
-aphrodisiac/love serum
-lots of adventure banging
-hilarious antics
-dinosaurs
-child free HEA

Hilarious, fast-paced, and completely out of this world! Lemming blends romance and sci-fi absurdity with effortless charm—pure fun from start to finish!

I adore Kimberly Lemming but this one fell a bit short for me.
It is definitely a unique and fun read but I felt as though there was too much going on to keep up with the plot. I found myself having to reread certain parts over again to try and understand better.
I do think the idea was amazing just a little bit chaotic. But I will definitely keep reading Kimberly’s work, this one just wasn’t for me
Thank you for the ARC!

I am absolutely obsessed with everything Kimberly Lemming writes, and this book was no different. I cackled the whole time. Such a good romp!

The author herself has described this book on social media as an unhinged fever dream…and it is…in the absolute best way possible. I was absolutely engrossed by this story the entire time.

Let me roll back for a moment. I read Kimberly Lemming’s Mead Mishaps series in 2023 and 2024, and they were fun and decently steamy fantasy stories. To me they had the vibes of cozy fantasy but with a little more danger and raised stakes at times, but they were still cozy enough for me. So when I heard she had a sci-fi series coming (and I saw the titles), of course I was interested.

These books are absolutely just a fun time. And I can honestly say that for me, this Cosmic Chaos series feels a bit steamier/spicier than the Mead Mishaps. Honestly, reading this book gave me the same WTF? feeling that I get from watching the Dandadan anime. There was so much wild and ridiculous shenanigans happening that it felt like I was on a wild ride or that I was high on smokes or edibles.

I know that might not sound fun for some, but I was highly entertained for this whole read. The characters are well-developed and go through a journey together. Dory was smart and sassy and honestly hilarious. This terrible AI developed planet made for some fascinating encounters, and the whole set-up had so many layers to it that I know I’ll need to read this again to see what I missed the first time (probably due to either laughing or just asking myself “what the hell did I just read?”) It will be worth re-reads too.

In a year that has been stressful and terrifying, a year where I have to pay attention to everything going on in the US, it was also so wonderful to know that there are these incredible times of entertainment where I can sink into a book or a movie or a show just for a few hours, to give me that extra boost to keep going.

I want to be as brave and determined and educated and outspoken as so many of these characters I have loved throughout my life. For now it feels like I am a little more tentative in my commentary online…but perhaps even a cautious voice can add to the cacophony and help build it to an even louder output.

Anyway, I cannot wait to have a finished copy of this book on my shelves, and I am eagerly anticipating the release of book 2 because I’m sure it will also be hilariously fantastic.
