This was such a strange book but I had such a great time.

I loved the weird sort-of-Earth but very much not-Earth world. The characters were hilarious and honestly Toto really stole the show for me.

Can't wait to read more in this world.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com was an absolute blast—funny, fast-paced, and delightfully over-the-top. I loved how it leaned into popular romance tropes with razor-sharp self-awareness and intentional meta flair. The real MVP? Toto, the lion-esque alien sidekick who stole every scene and my heart.

As its zany title promises, this story catapults readers into a whirlwind of interstellar chaos and romantic comedy swoon worthy fun. The polyamory angle adds a compelling layer to the story’s already playful vibe. It kept me genuinely curious about how all the relationships would evolve.

If you’re a fan of Ice Planet Barbarians or just looking for a love story that’s quirky in all the right ways, buckle up—you’re in for a good time.

Thank you Netgalley, Berkley, and Kimberly Lemming for the eARC.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com is out now.

Absolutely devoured this book!
Hilarious narrative and dialogue, reasonably spicy (kind of, maybe not), and interesting!

I don't know if I ever thought that I would be reading and enjoying a spicy romance book set on a different planet filled with earth dinosaurs and AI human items, two muscled forced mates, a talking lion, pink t-rex, and more, but here we are. And I'm not sorry.

Our MFC is spunky, opinionated, and SMART, which was honestly so nice! Having a female character be a woman in STEM, stick with her opinions, and spend paragraphs talking about Meerkats? YES PLEASE. Does she scream at plants and giant sloths not in their respective elements? Yes, but who wouldn't?

The two male leads were interesting and had a lot of personality, and yet I wanted more of them!
I slurped up ever piece of conversation from those two like canned chicken noodle soup on a could day and yet still didn't have enough by the time the acknowledgments were rolling across the page.

Toto the lion was unexpected, hilarious, and a much needed companion character to help the story continue on. Did I think I would say that about a talking lion? NOPE. But yes, I love Toto.

The owl scientists, especially Intern, got on my nerves, but I think they were meant to? And they were fun in their own way too.

I think where this book falls a little short for me is a couple of the spicy scenes, the ending, and the missing could-be drama.

Most of the smut seems to happen near the middle, and it's forced, which is still kind of hot, but also wasn't as satisfying. And the sudden MM action was a bit shocking - not the worst I've ever read, but for it to happen so suddenly, without emotional buildup, and then be over so quickly felt a bit rapey, ngl. Knots were only ever interacted with once, birth control seemed like it was wrapped up too nicely and quickly, and by the time we got to true emotional connection in the end, nothing happened? Which maybe that's a message about the importance of intimacy over sex but it was kind of ehh?

The ending could have had SO MUCH MORE drama, which I would have gratefully taken like a good starving orphan, but instead we got an angry owl man who got his angry way after a sudden betrayal, and a Main character who was saved from poison so freaking quickly we only got the coughing up blood part. She could have fainted BEFORE the owl pick-up truck arrived! She could have literally been so much worse and gained so much more in terms of interaction with her two mates than a quick stop at the place they've been trying to get to the whole book. And the dinosaur migration path problem solved so quickly? I just, needed something a little more than that.

But yeah, definitely need more from this trio and the planet of Waffles.

A big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I had a lot of fun with this book!! It had me laughing out loud multiple times and it's just so ridiculous but in the best way. I actually have never read an alien romance before, but what a book to start with!!

I found this book fairly cozy and there's not a lot of tension, but I think that's in line with other Kimberly Lemmings books I've read. I wish we got more character development for...everyone, there wasn't a lot of time for it with the constant onslaught of events.

If you're looking for a quick, fun, good time of a read I'd rec this!!

Lemming is known for her hilarious and wild romances with a larger-than-life backdrop, and she delivers once again: this time, a sci-fi world where humans are abducted and brought to another planet for their reproductive abilities. This time, things didn't quite click for me: the romance wasn't super compelling for me, and the rest of the sci-fi plot was a little muddled in its efforts to be humorous. I think there's plenty here for the right reader; it just wasn't me.

Kimberly gives us another fun sexy romp. If you enjoyed her Mead Mishaps, this is it's sci-fi sister.
Even though Dory is going through it, she remains true to herself & gets her men. It is also very funny that aliens use A.I. & Proceed to everything right about humans, to..... the left.

This book is a fever dream. Kimberly Lemming, you have my attention. I love every single title I have seen from this author, and if they weren't already enough to pull me in, the fact that I could not stop laughing while reading this is. Kimberly Lemming is effortlessly witty and funny. The alien spice level is a little higher than I expected, but I had a blast reading the back and forth dialogue in this book. A talking lion, dinosaurs, a strange planet, a sketchy owl, and warring aliens? This was a fun level of messy and chaotic that I am unsure could ever be replicated.

Also, we love Toto (the lion). There were so many times Toto reminded me of my Sour Patch Kid former semi-feral boy, and it just made it even more enjoyable for me.

Good to know that Kimberly Lemming can do science fiction just as dexterously as they can do fantasy! Some deliciously steamy scenes interspersed with such amazing humor that I cackled audibly several times.

Thanks for the ARC! This book is a wild ride from page one—equal parts rom-com chaos, alien absurdity, and heart. Dory is hilarious and relatable even when she’s fighting dinosaurs and crushing on not one, but two aliens. The banter is top-tier, the pacing flies, and the story balances the ridiculous with some surprisingly real emotion. It's weird, it’s sexy, it’s FUN. Lemming does it again with a genre-bending blast that somehow makes total sense.

Another fun and sexy story from Kimberly Lemming. I am very intrigued to know how Kimberly comes up with things like "the knot". I cannot wait to read more of Kimberly's work and the rest of this series (when it is written and published).

Thank you to Berkley Romance and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book.

I want to start this review by saying I did not seek out this book; Berkely emailed me and gave me the book to review. This is not my normal genre at all. I am a fantasy and thriller reader and I generally find romance to be boring. It's hard to say that this book was boring but it was dumb. Like so stupid. I thought this would be campy and a little silly but it was straight up so weird that you had to read it without thinking. There's a talking lion and he ends up on an alien planet with this human girl and dinosaurs and weird Avatar-like creatures that are apparently hot? Yeah, I was physically unable to suspend my system of belief long enough to enjoy this book. I couldn't even make it 60 pages in before I had to DNF it. That's not to say this book is bad, per se. It's just not my genre and it annoyed me more than anything. 1/5 stars.

Excellent fantasy romance that has top tier steam/spice. I loved the friendship between Dory and Toto. I definitely would read more in this series, and thought there was an excellent balance of romance and fantasy plot.

Quirky and witty fun. Love a good rom com, especially when it subverts the norm. Kimberly Lemming does it again with I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom Com. Get yourself some snacks and cozy up with this fun and quick read. I loved it!

Kimberly Lemming will always be an auto-buy author for me. Her stories are always lighthearted and spicy, and will always have the reader laughing. However, I was not too big of a fan of I Got Abducted by Aliens. It might be me, but I did not vibe with the story. Yes, it still had that chaotic, funny feel at some points, but it wasn't the same.

This was THE FUNNEST ROMP?! Oh my goodness, I was laughing all the way through. And the world-building was actually so clever?? I can't wait for the sequel (there will be a sequel, right??)! The perfect quick read for anyone craving something fun, and pretty spicy (x2). Can't wait to see what Kimberly Lemming comes up with next. Her brain must be such a fascinating place.

Another amazing book by Kimberly Lemming! I love their books as they always bring so much fun and spice. All her books are palate-cleanser books, which never fail to pull me out of a slump when needed. Her original series is one of my go-to summer reads, and I am most definitely adding this one to the list. Love the switch up to more sci-fi alien vibes as it was kinda unexpected and fresh. Overall, a hilarious and fun read for when you want to keep it fun and light.

*4.5 stars

OMG this book is so flipping funny!

I laughed the ENTIRE read and oh how it was steamy as well. The only thing is that the end kind of dragged for me a little and I would get Locke and Sol confused sometimes.

But, overall Toto and Intern were my favorite characters and their hilarious banter made this book so funnnnn!

The romance was kind of instalove and thrown together, but I really enjoyed their banter and their steamy times.

I wanted to like this one because I LOVED her Mead Mishaps series - but the over the top quirkiness in this one just felt forced. It was lacking the heart and character development of her other books. The humor wasn’t landing, I didn’t care about the characters, and it just felt like a “quirky” take on the Ice Planet Barbarian series.

Not entirely my cup of tea, but I did find this book very humorous and fun to read. Dory is a great protagonist and I really enjoyed the other characters as well (especially Toto and Intern). My nerdy science brain also enjoyed the slight STEM aspect. If you're looking for something light and a spicy, this is a good book for you. Thank you NetGalley for an Arc copy of this book.

It was kinda okay, I will say that I’ve loved everything about this author before it just seems that she tried to branched out and it was messy and not well achieved
