This book was seriously laugh out loud hilarious with everything you honestly need in a rom-com... aliens, dinosaurs, and talking lions oh my!
Dorothy was minding her own business finishing up filming a meerkat colony for her PhD when shes not only attacked by a lion, but also then abducted by aliens. In the midst of her escape from the UFO, and joined by the lion whom she can now understand, she crash lands upon a planet full of dinosaurs and other flora and fauna that should by no means exist together. After finding out that she and the other humans on the UFO were brought here for a breeding program for the now native aliens, she finds herself mated to not one, but two alien goat men! Her first task... to punch the face of the head of the research facility who brought her here.
A wild ride of humor, romance and adventure. And dont forget the pink T-Rex!

Hi! Thank you so much for providing me with an ARC of this read 🫶🏾unfortunately, I did soft DNF this book. I absolutely loved other work of hers - I just don’t think this story was the one for me. Will try other stories of hers in the future! Thank you🫶🏾

I went into this expecting the weird & that's what I got. With that said, it was a quite a bit more chaotic than her Mead Mishaps series. The spicy scenes were not my jam, but that's not really the author's fault. It's got a talking lion and a bunch of dinosaurs, including a wooly stegosaurus. I also appreciated the nod to Jurassic Park with the "spared no expense" line near the end.
Be aware though, the cover is slightly misleading as this is actually a MMF romance not a single love interest.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this in exchange for my honest review.

I was hoping this would be more of the same of Kimberly's writing, just scifi instead of fantasy. I was both right and wrong. I enjoyed this more than I did her fantasy series. I found the characters to be funnier, and the "magic" that allowed for them each to understand each other was perfect! The poly enemies to lovers relationship was quick, but exactly the pacing I was hoping for when I picked this up. Our main character, Dory, was a badass, black, plus size woman who took charge multiple times in the face of danger. You'll also want to read it for the talking lion bestie (TOTO!!!) and the pink t-rex! I'm officially addicted to Kimberly's writing and will pick up anything she writes!

This is an absolutely amazing time. It’s wild, crazy, and beyond a typical rom-com. I wholeheartedly believe everyone that enjoys romance needs to read this.

This book was exactly what I expect from Lemming!
It’s so quirky and had me laughing the whole time.
Love that we have a Dorthy and Toto with the nods to the wizard of oz!
The first line of this book really sucked me in:
“Thicken Nugget, you evil b**ch, stop murdering half the desert”
Sums up the wild ride you’re getting into.
This is an alien human romance and there is knotting so make sure it’s something you’re okay with.
But the story was great I can’t wait for another one and I highly suggest it!

Kimberly Lemming has done it again, delivering a book that is just as unhinged, hilarious, and delightfully chaotic as the title suggests. If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Ice Planet Barbarians met The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy but with a rom-com twist—congrats, you’ve found your next obsession. Oh and Knotting...don't know what that means...you will.
This book is an absolute wild ride from start to finish. Our heroine is just living her life when—bam!—aliens. But instead of probing or an intergalactic war, she finds herself in the middle of a spacefaring romantic comedy complete with misunderstandings, absurd predicaments, and some seriously swoon-worthy alien hotties. The story is packed with laugh-out-loud moments that will have you clutching your sides (truly, Lemming should start marketing her books as an alternative to an ab workout).
Lemming’s signature humor shines, with fast-paced banter, chaotic adventures, and a romance that is both spicy and sweet. And let’s be real—if you loved Ice Planet Barbarians, this book will hit all the right notes for you. It's got ridiculous fun, otherworldly attraction, and just enough heartfelt moments to balance out the insanity.
If you need an escape that guarantees giggles, giddiness, and good ol’ space smooching, I Got Abducted By Aliens and Now I’m Stuck in This Rom Com is your next must-read.
Big thanks to Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to enjoy this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I adore everything Kimberly Lemmings writes, the Mead Mishaps series was one of my favorite reading experiences last year and her latest release is one of my favorites of this year. It’s literally the funniest thing I’ve read in a while, the concept is insanely chaotic (but in the best way) and fun with never a dull moment and honestly this was just a great time. It is different than her other works but I’m not complaining, I had a FANTASTIC time with this and it continues to consume my thoughts with how entertaining it was 😆

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com is the first book I’ve read from author Kimberly Lemming, and I’m one reader who loves finding new-to-me authors. The cover, title, and synopsis are what drew me to read this book, and I was eager to start it. The book started great and I was enjoying it, especially when I borrowed the audiobook from my local library. The narrator, Hazel Addison, did a fabulous job telling Kimberly Lemming’s story and bringing all the characters to life.
I found myself losing interest in the story halfway through, but I kept reading because I wanted to see where it was going. I did enjoy some aspects of the book, particularly the FMC, Dorothy Valentine. I thought she was a strong and compelling character, especially considering she was kidnapped by aliens who studied her for a specific reason and also saved her life. She managed the situation quite well, even when faced with a talking lion, two aliens competing for her affection, and dinosaurs. However, aside from the FMC, this book just wasn’t for me.
I will say this: if you enjoy spice in your books, Kimberly Lemming delivers it in this story featuring the FMC and her two alien-fated mates. Knotting is included.
I wanted to enjoy this story because it had a lot of potential, but I found it difficult to follow the storyline, which left me feeling confused. I’m unsure if I will continue with this series, but I do plan to read other books written by Kimberly Lemming.
Would I recommend this book? Although this book wasn’t for me, I would still recommend it to others. If you enjoy a Sci-Fi romance featuring the Fated Mates and Instant Love trope with a spicy plot, then you’ll likely enjoy this book.
What to Expect:
✔️One Lion, Aliens, and Dinosaurs
✔️Fated Mates
✔️Instant Love/Lust
✔️Forced Proximity
✔️Why Choose
✔️Knotting

Kimberly Lemming is approaching auto-buy territory for me. She masterfully creates worlds and characters that feel real and fleshed out even when they are talking lions. This rom com sci fi book is a slight departure from her previous series of novels as they were very much fantasy. There is aliens and technology, dinosaurs, etc in this book. I will say that the cover is slightly misleading as this book is definitely mmf and by the time I figured that out I was invested in the story. so even though they aren’t usually my thing I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the sequel!

This books was so fun to read. I don't know what I expected from it when I started it, but every little part was a welcome surprise. Bright Pink T-Rex? Love it. Two aliens obsessed with a human? Yep, right up my alley. Sarcasm, silliness, and smut? Hell yeah.
I just want to read more by this author so much after finishing this book. I absolutely loved it.

The concept? Brilliant. The execution? About as smooth as an alien trying to flirt using a translator that only speaks in 90s rom-com quotes. The protagonist spends most of the book oscillating between "I hate this" and "But his tentacles are kinda cute...", and honestly, I felt the same way.
If you love absurd premises and don’t mind some out-of-this-world cheesiness (seriously, it’s enough to clog an intergalactic artery), you might have fun. But if you were hoping for sci-fi adventure with a side of romance, instead of romance with a side of aliens... well, Houston, we have a problem.

A fun romp of a story with a talking lion, 2 hot aliens, and 1 overtly optimistic intern.
The sci-fi elements mixed with romance tropes WORKED so well in this. I was laughing so much at the absurdity of the "science experiment" Dory is kidnapped. I mean, the folks responsible didn't even research well and now you've got extinct fauna and dinosaurs mixed with humans and dandelions!
At first the story was a bit confusing, but it mirrors Dory's own confusion within her reality. I also found that the beginnings of the romance was too fast for me. But overall, this is so FUN in Kimberly Lemming's signature style.
I look forward to reading the next installment. I already have guesses as to who the fmc may be!

Rating: Enjoyed It, 3.5 Stars
This is the first installment in a new sci-fi romance series in which a wildlife biologist is abducted by an alien species in order to repopulate one of their conservation planet projects as a mate for a different alien species.
We follow Dory and the lion who almost killed her, Toto, as they navigate a new planet that is also inhabited by dinosaurs, megafuna, and a surprisingly sexy hooved and horned alien species. She is shot with dart by the bird alien intern who kidnapped her and it triggers a mating bond with not one, but two of the aliens.
This had Kimberly Lemming's trademark wacky world and plot as well as a good dose of humor. I greatly enjoyed the world and the wacky storyline that Lemming built. It was a lot of fun. However, this one lacked a little bit of the magic of the Mead Mishaps series. I think that part of it was becuase there didn't really seem to be a very strong connection between the characters before they jumped into the spicy scenes. It just made them have a lot less payoff, and there was a LOT of sexy scenes. Eventually I just ended up skimming through them because that was the piece I was the least invested in.
Overall, it was a fun time, but I definitely preferred Mead Mishaps.
I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming released on February 18, 2025. I received an eARC from Negalley and Berkley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Science? Romance? Dory? Dinosaurs? What are you doing to me Berkley?! Thank you, Kimberly, for abducting my mind and taking me on an adventure to save the world! This was packed with twists and romance but also a talking pet companion is like a dream come true. If you like Stem romance which have become the latest trend, then I highly recommend you at least trying this one!

Kimberly Lemming does it again! Filled with comedy and sexy non human love interests, I couldn’t put the book down. It was simultaneously the most insane and entertaining thing I have read in a long time!
Dory is a wildlife biologist in her final year of school. She is out observing the prairie dogs when she gets abducted by aliens. In her attempt to escape, she crash lands on a planet filled with dinosaurs and aliens that can create fireballs. Little did she know, the aliens who abducted her intended on her being on this planet to help repopulate the alien race already on the planet.
It was done in pure Kimberly Lemming fashion and I had an amazing time reading this novel!

This book was absolutely hilarious. My first ever Kimberly lemming book and that sense of humor of hers is absolutely GOLD. The romance. The plot. 5 stars

Huge thank you to @prhaudio @berkleyromance and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Well, this title is a mouthful but it sums it up perfectly! This book is completely and utterly bananas. It is such a wild ride and it is just pure chaotic fun. This was a hilarious one to discuss with my bookish friends!

Do you like utterly ridiculous plots, and toe curling MFM spice? If so, might I tempt you with Kimberly Lemming's most recent novel, I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-com?
Dory, our poor FMC, just wants to study her meerkats and get her grant money so she can prove to her family that what she does is valid, and she's worth something even if she did opt for a different life path than her siblings. But noooooooo, she can't even have that. Instead she finds herself abducted by oddly owl-like aliens. Escaping them, she crash lands onto a weird planet with Toto, a stowaway from Earth, who just so happens to be a talking lion.
Weirdness continues to run rampant as dinosaurs and fire breathing aliens enter the story. So, if you're prepared to suspend any sense of normalcy, and if you're reading alien romance I'd assume you are, I cannot recommend this crazy ride of a book enough.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the eARC!
