I am a huge fan of Lemming, I read The Time I Got Drunk...at a Werewolf! I planned to read Book 1 and 3 in the Mead Mishaps series, they are on my TBR. She is now an auto-buy author for me.
When I saw the eARC for this next book, I immediately requested and jumped for joy when I was approved!

Lemming, your brain needs to be studied, and I mean that in a good way! How she comes up with such chaotic, funny, super spicy, strange, books where you are gonna have a fun time, and at the same time, what happens is slightly twisted!!??

Another book I could not put down, and had a good time. I think the beginning chapter was a little off, and could probably use a little editing, but once I got past that, I was all in!

A human, on a new planet, where her friend is a lion (also from earth), and she ends up in a throuple on a foreign planet, and it's a planet that is loosely based on Earth (but they get most things wrong!). Complete chaos, fun, and well a lot, a lot of spice!

4.25 STARS!
Thank you Netgalley for this eARC, I am so happy I got to read this book!

Kimberly Lemming can do no wrong in my book. I absolutely adore her cozy fantasy series, Mead Mishaps, and “I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com” is a perfect series starter. You’ll get the laughter, the spice, and the hijinks we love in the Mead Mishaps series. Dory, Lok, and Sol are a great throuple and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next book. Toto is the perfect comedic relief and who doesn’t want to have a talking lion as a side kick? If you are looking for a fun, low-stakes, spicy book then this is for you.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

I received an eARC of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I laughed so much while reading this book! I love Kimberly Lemming's writing ever since I first read That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon in 2022. I can't wait until this book comes out so I can add it to my physical Kimberly Lemming book collection. I plan to re-read this often! It was such a good time and honestly would stand on its own even without smut in it. The smut was superb though. I love Toto, the lion, he was the greatest if not the most unlikely best friend for Dorothy. The intern flew between being the biggest pain in the a*s and the funniest comic relief. I loved the love interests and I was honestly on the same barometer with them as Dorothy consistently through the book. I cannot wait to see what else the owl aliens have misunderstood about human life and Earth. I am also curious to see how long Dorothy can keep her secret from them throughout the series when it comes to coffee and chocolate (iykyk). I recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a wacky alien romance that doesn't take itself serious in any way. Its a great time!

“You two are so weird. Never leave me”
Kimberly Lemming has a way of writing adventurous fun books that genuinely make me laugh. Who writes a book with aliens, extinct dinosaurs and a lion but as a romance? I’m so happy to have gotten this arc.

The heros are opposites, the hero is a biologist who yells a lot (it’s funny in context), the lion is adorably funny and Intern (a bird creature) is innocently adorable too. I loved her writing style and humor.

*Spoiler*
My only con is I don’t like how their mating was forced with a serum that was injected without their consent

💕 Lok & Sol
🦁 A Talking Lion named Toto

I always have the best of times reading Kimberly Lemmings books! And this one has sky rocketed its way to my favorite of the bunch!

The Rom-Com aspect definitely hit! I loved Dory! She was the perfect balance of smart and chaotic. Her relationship with Toto was a lot more endearing than I thought it would be. At some points they would bicker like siblings 🤣. And I definitely can’t forget Lok and Sol!!! *WHEW* 🥵 spectacular give me 14 of them!

This is definitely a strong start to what’s probably going to be my favorite series from Kimberly Lemming! Because who would have thought that a story could blend alien abduction, prehistoric creatures, romance, and comedy? But somehow, Kimberly Lemmings makes it work ✨brilliantly✨. Every twist and turn kept me on the edge of my seat, laughing out loud one minute and swooning the next. I hate that I read this so early (Thank you Berkley 🫶🏾) because I want to know what happens next IMMEDIATELY!

Very cute and incredibly silly. Very much captures the rom com vibe with a dash of extra ridiculous. Wizard of Oz meets dinosaurs, aliens and more. The characters were all so fun. Dory gets not one, but TWO alien lovers. Woo hoo! Toto was ridiculous in the best ways. I think the beginning is still my favorite part though, a meerkat researcher? So cool! My first Kimberly Lemming book and definitely won't be my last.

truly one of the most unique romances ive ever read! this gave me almost ice planet barbarian vibes if that was your cup of tea, and the humor was top notch! i now need to read lemming’s other novel, as this was a complete delight and i cannot wait to read more from her!

From Fantasy to Sci-Fi Kimberly Lemming has got you covered. In this crazy, enthralling tale we have Dorthy, a Wildlife Biologist who just wants to get her PHD. Though in this story she is named after the Dorthy of NASA , her story is more closely aligned with her name sake circa The WIZ. A lion and a Toto included. We are transported onto a world where the dinosaurs, giant sloths and steamboat willie roam. I honestly just loved this book, I love fated mates, the authors take on aliens and historical accuracy within biodiversity. The story is just so well done, and I'm talking in circles BUT read this book for a smutty, giddy, crazy sci-fi kickoff to a wonderful series.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Favorite Quote: “Let’s just say the audacity of men is universal.”

My Thoughts: When I received this ARC, I was over the moon. I love Kimberly Lemming’s writing and this book did 👏🏽not👏🏽disappoint! This is my type of rom-com. Dory is kidnapped and dropped on a strange planet where she has, not one, but two alien mates! Miss Kimberly Lemming wrote a throuple and I actually loved all three of them.

The humor in this had me cackling. The spicy parts had me sweating!🥵 And every single character in this book is utter perfection! I especially loved Toto the lion. If I could describe this book in three words they would be: chaotic, hilarious, and romantic. Dory, Lok, and Sol are the perfect match and I loved seeing them fall more and more in love with each other. This was one big, addicting adventure!

10/10 would recommend when this comes out! I’ll recommend anything by Kimberly Lemming. I just love how her brain works lol. 💐💐💐

Thank you, thank you for providing me with this arc!

One thing you always have a guarantee of with Kimberly Lemming is the fact you are about to embark on a whimsical ride. Drop your serious expectations and just roll with it, you'll thank her later. This fast paced Adams-esque tale of alien abduction, mates and dinos dino-ing is just a fun romp through a weirdly familiar planet. Thank you to Ms. Lemming, Penguin Random House and Netgalley for the advanced reader copy!

If you know anything about Kimberly Lemming's books, you know that you are in for a whacky good time and crazy hijinks when you pick up one of her stories, and this one continues with that trend. I think you can tell from the title alone if nothing else that this book is going to be wild. I was honestly baffled at the directions this book took the whole way through, and won't go into much detail so as to not spoil because truly reading this and following the storyline was like a rollercoaster ride in and of itself (in a good, wtf am I reading sort of way).

I enjoyed certain aspects of this and didn't care for others, so I settled on a 3 star for this one.

To start with the good:
-In standard Kimberly Lemming fashion, this was hilarious. I laughed out loud multiple times, and I always appreciate that from books.
-This had animal companions, which is a major win for me! A literal talking lion friend named Toto? Where can I get one of my own? Toto was the highlight of this whole book for me, I could not get enough of him.
-Dinosaurs!!!!! 🦖 I don't think I need to elaborate
-This was so fast paced and easy to read. Perfect to pick up any time, but would be great for getting out of a reading slump
-Found family in the form of a rag-tag group of characters exploring this new planet they ended up on

The bad (for me personally--all of this is definitely a matter of personal taste, so take that with a grain of salt):
-There was a ton of spice in here, I felt like it was kind of overkill and took away from the plot
-I'm not a huge fan of why-choose or multiple love interest type of stories, and this had that
-There was a scene in which consent was very questionable, and that's a hard nope for me. There is a trigger warning for this before even starting the book, so I was aware of it going in and chose to read/enjoy the rest of the book anyway, however that was a big turn off for me
-While a lot of the humor worked for me, at points it felt a bit too "lol random" type of humor for me, for lack of better phrasing. It felt at points like how much crazy shit can I pile in just for laughs, not for any real plot reason.

Overall, enjoyed but didn't love and it won't stick out to me as far as books I loved/would constantly recommend. However, if you love Kimberly Lemming (and I know so many, including myself, do), I think you will at least like, if not love this one, so definitely give it a try!

Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! 👽🦖💜

First, THANK YOU for letting me read this book early. I am LOVING this series and will definitely be reading all of Kimberly Lemming's books because her writing and these storylines are PERFECTION! love love love

Holy crap. I was already a fan of Kimberly's books and this one did not disappoint. If you can't tell by the title this is technically a rom-com and in true Kimberly fashion I giggled the entire book. 😂😂😂 if you are down and need a pick me up or just need something to make you laugh do not hesitate to pick this up immediately. I can't wait till everyone gets their hands on it. Definitely reccomending it to my book club. Definitely a 5 star read for me.

Are you a fan of Ice Planet Barbarians but you were thinking I really wish it was a bit more of a romcom, you could have two mates and there was a lion side kick? No? Me either (I mean I am a fan of Ice Planet Barbarians but I would never have thought of this combo) but trust me you want it! This book is a wonderful combination of extremely funny, spicy, and a bit of adventure.

I wasn't expecting this to be a trio but I wasn't mad about it. This one falls somewhere between MFM and MMF. I mean if you are going to end up stranded on an alien planet with dinosaurs you should at least get some good sex out of it, right? There is knotting so if that isn't for you skip this one.

If you love a book that will make you laugh and think wow my day wasn't perfect but at least there were zero huge frogs you need to read this one. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. It is ridiculous in an incredibly fun way and I was exceptionally entertained.

I liked the Mead Mishaps series, so I imagined I would like this one a lot more than I did. It seems I am an outlier in the early readers so far, so please take this as you will. I should say I am not one who seeks out heavy spice. I don’t mind spice but I want it centered around good characters and some plot or story. This one did not have that. It also doesn’t help that it has my least favorite trope, forced mating with drug alteration (which feels non consensual to me). I felt like without either good characters or a plot the humor fell flat for me and her humor is why I have enjoyed this author previously. The only character I really liked was Toto, who hasn’t dreamed of a big kitty making them a part of his pride? Dorothy Valentine has almost got her PHd in wildlife biology when she is attacked by a lion and then saved by aliens who unfortunately kidnapped her. She landed on a weird planet with dinosaurs and a car with nothing inside. And of course she meets and falls for two aliens. Overall I gave this one 2.5 stars which I rounded up because I recognize that a lot of the faults I had with this one were more about my taste.

I really enjoyed this! Kimberly is hilarious and idk how she continues to come up with these wild story lines.

I really liked Dory! Girl was so funny! She handled her whole almost death, being abducted, being forced into a mating situation, DINOSAURS, and everything in between so well.

I want more of her, more of Sol (he’s my FAV), more of Lok, and for sure more of Toto. Hell… I even want more of intern! Keep them all and give me more!

The supporting characters were just as good as the main ones. And I hope that we get another book (maybe following Blair and Osid) and that we still get to see Dory, Sol, and Lok. I NEED TO STILL SEE MORE OF SOL AND LOK.

Overall… loved it. There were some moments where I was confused and it seemed like we were losing the plot but it all came together in the end in the best way.

I Got Abducted By Aliens and Now I am Trapped in a RomCom - ARC Review
⭐⭐⭐/5
.
WHAT I LIKED:
-Wacky World Building: The planet, creatures, and whys behind the research team’s choices all led to a both fascinating and hilarious world these characters were in.
-Humor: Much of the creature and situational humor was so wacky and absurd, but in a perfectly hilarious fashion.
-FMC: Dorothy/Dory is smart, witty, real, and brave. Her background as a biologist was perfect for this story. She was a fabulous lead character.
.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
-Forced Sex due to Drug Influence: This made me feel gross while reading - and not because I am opposed to sexual content. The fact that multiple characters were drugged with a serum that made it impossible to resist having sex with complete strangers was not cool. This was definitely not consent. And this was definitely not hot.
-MFM/MMF without warning: Both the synopsis and content warnings do not mention there will be multiple sex scenes with 3 parties. This is not for everyone and I think it should be very clear to readers this is present in the book before they dive in.
.
Thank you @netgalley for my eARC copy. I was given this eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, & Berkley for an E-ARC of I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com.

4.5 stars! Kimberly Lemming has done it again!

This was hilarious, like laugh out loud hilarious. Dory's inner dialogue/character was extremely funny, intelligent, and a relatable FMC. The abduction and opening chapters to set the tone was detailed, and easy to follow the universe of where the story was taken place. This was another cozy fantasy read with the perfect amount of spice, which surprised me... if you know you know. The Jurassic period, animals, and aliens provided an additional layer to the story that made it funny. This was a fun read, not only is it funny, but it is a story that is weird and embraces the weirdness of it which made me love the story even more. The side characters were perfect and were so unserious the entire time lol. The author was able to create the perfect amount of romance and comedy within this universe.

Lok and Sol... Yeah Dory you lucky lucky woman.

Toto was the cherry on top with the constant commentary and hilarious moments throughout the story. I can't wait for the next book in this new series.

Lions & aliens & dinosaurs, oh my!

Have you ever had a dream that was so vivid and lively, that you woke up and had to tell someone about it? That’s how this book made me feel.

As I started reading, I thought okay, this book is going to be chaos. It was light and funny, and I figured I was in for a thrill ride. I was right about that part, the entire book was high-energy, creative, and bizarre (in the best way). But, it also turned out to be a lot more than I thought it was.

Oh boy the spice, the spice took me off guard. Between the characters involved and the praise, I was beyond into it.

Other than that, the plot was surprisingly intricate and there were heart-touching moments. From the title “I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com”, I was expecting shocking humor, and don’t get me wrong the entire book was full of that, but there was a lot more to it than I had anticipated and I loved that.

The characters were all different but came together in a very enjoyable and entertaining way. This wouldn’t be an honest review if I didn’t shout out Toto who was definitely one of my favorite characters.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable read. It’s busy, high energy, funny, and makes you want more. I’m personally hoping there’s a book two involving two of the side characters. Keep an open mind, this story is out there, but I’ll personally be seeking out more of Kimberly Lemming's books.

I received this as an arc from NetGalley and Berkley and I appreciate the opportunity to read it and share my honest review.

Kimberly does it again, y’all! If you want a book with fantastically weird world building and has 4 main characters of mostly varying species that all have their own voices, side quests, and desires then this is your book!

The story is witty, sexy, and will leave you dripping for more. She’ll even throw in some twists related your favorite and not so favorite book scenarios 😂.

I’m bursting with excitement to share more, but you’ll have to wait until February or request an early copy from Berkley (which THANK YOU x♾️).

Can’t wait to see what she cooks up next for the rest of this series—I’m all in for whatever she writes up! 📚✨
