So we finally know what it would look like if one asked the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to write porn.

Overall, a fast-paced romp, largely because Lemming tosses weirdness after weirdness too rapidly to get your bearings, but most are charming and funny. Toto became one of my favorite parts of the book, and Intern was an entertaining antagonist.

The few twists are worthwhile, though the political machinations at the end felt too tacked on.

Now to the part I didn't love: The sex scenes. I do not object to them being in the book--that is the point of it--or that they involve suction tails between different species. Why write alien sex if one is going to be limited in appendages and orifices, after all? My issue is that whenever arousal appears--which it does within a sentence and occasionally on a dinosaur--it is as though Lok and Sol leave the scene, and their obnoxious stunt doubles sub in. Their personalities vaporize into a unified cloud of "Grr, I'm a dom! You bad little girl!" Outside that, the characters are distinct, and their interplay is entertaining. The sex didn't seem to have much bearing on the plot eventually, and my eyes started slipping over the sentences until it seemed the story would resume. Sex should be somewhat load-bearing (hush) in the story, and I did not get that feeling often enough.

I felt a surge to knock a star off being of the epilogue, specifically the last line, but I won't.

All the chaos, but in the best way! I was struggling to read with my eyes, so I bought the book with an audio credit. And I was fully immersed the whole time. Plus, it made it a bit easier to differentiate who all the characters were. Overall, I thought it was a fun and quick read once I jumped on the audio bandwagon. And I'm definitely excited to read more from this world and series!

Bravo to Berkley for having Kimberly bring us more of her amazing work!

I had the best time reading this book!!!!! Kimberly Lemmings can do no wrong in my eyes!!! I had so much fun with this story. From Toto the talking lion, intern the biwban bird, and Doriโ€™s two love interest Lok and Sol I was hooked from page one That mating scene was ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅต. If youโ€™re looking for a sexy, funny alien romcom look no further and read this!!! Highly recommend audiobook the narrator did such a good job!

Lemming follows the formula sheโ€™s become known for, of course, with a bit of a twist as she explores some new and interesting ideas that will definitely keep you on your toes. Without the constraints of some preconceived โ€œrulesโ€ in fantasy, venturing into sci-fi allowed Lemming to get even more creative, playing with DNA and exploring unique new species. Ahem, in her usual fashion.

Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

I loved Kimberly Lemming's other books and enjoyed the balance of wild funny adventure with hot steamy romance, but this one just didn't work as well for me. I found the pacing to be really off and I think that it would have been nice to have not just our heroine's POV but also the male love interests' POV. Dory is a wildlife biologist who is abducted and taken to an alien planet and there's not a moment of rest as there are dinosaurs, a lion named Toto, and two fated mates for Dory in Lok and Sol. There is chaos on this planet that some aliens have tried to design for humans but gotten many details wrong which is amusing. The issues for me are two: I didn't feel the connection between the characters and there was such whiplash between action/adventure scenes and steamy scenes that I had trouble getting invested.

I'm so glad that a poly romance with fated mates written by a Black author is getting published by Berkley and it is a silly goofy fun time, but this was a let down for me. Still will look out for what this author writes next.

It started off super strong just like every Kimberly lemming books and i had tons of expectations. After 70% or so, the plot derailed and changed--leaving me wondering how things moved so soon? It was a heartbreaking experience because I was comepltely sure I'd love it. The why choose part was fun and i loved the side cahracters a lot too.

This is my first book by Kimberly Lemming and it was quite the wild ride. The plot elements were pretty bonkers. Let's see, there's the alien abduction just as Dory, the FMC, is being killed by an attacking lion, the accidental universal translator that not only allows her to talk to the various aliens she encounters (after she kisses them) but also gives the lion the ability to talk, the two hot aliens (complete with horns and prehensile tails), oh, and did I mention the never ending parade of dinosaurs on the alien planet she (and the lion) crash on?

Underneath all the wild escapades, there actually was more world-building than there often is in these alien abduction stories. The backstory as to why Dory and the alien guys ended up on the planet was a bit reminiscent of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and followed a strange kind of internal logic. Dory was intelligent and kicka**, refusing to give up no matter what the darned planet threw at her and it was all fun to read. I wasn't a huge fan of the spicy scenes, but that's on me as I don't usually read menages. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

This book had me laugh crying, laughing loudly, in the mood (thank you spicy scenes) and laughing more. Kimberly Lemming did it again. She is a phenomenal Paranormal Romance author and this is a must read. Between the Bibwan (Bird Aliens), Toto the Lion, and the Alien Matesโ€ฆ Dory had more than enough on her hand to also be dealing with dinosaurs. The banter was on key, the sex scenes were spiiiiiicy, and the character arcs were really well rounded. I want more.

This book just was not for me. I was immediately drawn into the fun whimsical cover, and the preface sounded so fun! But in general the content did not work for me. Iโ€™m sure a lot of people will love it, and I hope it finds it ms way into their hands.

Thank you so much to Berkley for providing this ARC!

A quick fun read that was immediately captivating from the very beginning. This is not a book for those who take themselves seriously and if you have anything bad to say about the author I will come and run you over. That being said, if you're looking for a why choose between aliens and a witty wildlife biologist with a lion sidekick, then this book is for you. And honestly if this doesn't sound like something you'd like, go ahead and pick it up, you could probably use some fun. Sometimes the writing felt like an ADHD fever dream and then I realized I read this book in one sitting so maybe it's what my brain needed.

I will say, I would have liked more details about the world and the different flora and fauna and the scientific processes used to create this world (after all, that's what Dory the FMC would like to read too) but then at the same time, that might not be the point of this book.

(Also if you're a fan of the one bed trope - ONE BED ONE BED!)

(Also also, I see you Kimberly with the Fuel X/Space X comparison.)

It feels like this is set up to be a series which makes me excited because I really want to know if Blair gets a HEA too. She had it roughhhh. And hopefully the series continues on the same planet so I get my world building details as the series goes on!

4.5 stars.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and chose to review it. This in no way impacts my opinion.

This was such a fast and good read. I am really loving Kimberly Lemming's books and the mixture of plot and spicy scenes. I thought this had a really good plotline that will expand beyond just the spice and I am excited to see where it goes next! I would have liked to see a bit more of the alien elements and learn more about how some of the technology and world works, but that can come in the future. I did feel like this was a lot of mixing infatuation with love and I wasn't a super fan of how the "rating scale" of affection worked. But I do always love a "why not both" situation and this was really well done!

I highly recommend checking this one out if you haven't already.

If Kimberly Lemming cracks out a book. it immediately goes on my shelf. Back with the humor, spice, the intrigue, this book was everything I needed to begin February with.
If the yellow brick road was yellow bird like creatures that whisk Dorothy "Dory" away from her greatest study, toss in a lion, Toto, and two sexy aliens, you would have this book. I loved every minute of reading it, and the SPICE!!!!!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC copy!

This book will take the edge off of a stressful day...

I just finished I got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm trapped in a rom-com by Kimberly Lemming and here are my musings.

When Dorothy, while working on her wildlife biology PhD, is attacked by a lion, she doesn't expect her saviors to be... aliens. When the ship crashes on a planet inhabited by dinosaurs and
the lion that attacked her can now talk and is her trusty sidekick. Navigating herself through a new world with 2 very sexy aliens to keep her company... What can go wrong?

I swear I did not know this was an alien smut book when I started to read it. Cross my heart and hope to..... OK fine... I figured it must have been spicy from the cover.. sue me. It was a hilarious adventure with witty banter and some serious steam. I love me a good smutty read and I wasn't 100% I was ready for intergalactic hobnobbing but I enjoyed the heck out of this book.

I thought the storyline was really solid, I didn't see any plot issues... Not that there was a lot of plot... It's most *cough cough* getting down and dirtttyyyy. It was really well paced and funny as all hell. The alien boys were awesome. Couldn't have had more different personalities. I thought Dorothy was a great MC, quirky and brilliant.

It's the first book in the series so never fear! There is more to come.

One heck of an intro to alien smut and I bow my head to the author.

4 stars

Thank you @berkleybooks and @netgalley for my gifted copy. OUT NOWWWW

This book was very interesting right from the start with that title LOL!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ It jumped straight into the plot with her being abducted, immediately setting the ball rolling for this rom-com. The element of rom-com I can totally see since you get snappy comments, cliche lines that we love and we can't forget the romance.

For me, it was enjoyable, but sadly, I wasn't as into it as I wanted to be. I saw the result a million miles away and was already a bit bored with the whole "I was abducted to fall in love with two aliens" trope ๐Ÿ‘ฝ๐Ÿ’˜. Still, I won't lie the scenes were HOT ๐Ÿ”ฅ, and as an occasional paranormal reader, I can definitely see the appeal of this book for many!

Kimberly Lemming is so good at writing books that are just pure fun. The circumstances surrounding the creation of the world Dory finds herself in are ridiculous, and thatโ€™s what makes the story so funny.

I didnโ€™t realize this was a poly romance when I picked it up (I see a Kimberly Lemming book, I read a Kimberly Lemming book, no questions asked) but I LOVED the dynamic between Dory, Lok, and Sol. I think that the author did a great job of balancing the moments where Dory bonded with each alien individually and with the three of them as a trio.

The star of this book is 100% Toto. Every single thing he said (because yes he can speak) was so entertaining, and I loved the bond he developed with Dory. I was reminded of Alexis from the Mead Mishaps series in that something that should not have been able to speak ended up stealing the show.

Overall this was a fun and amusing rom-com that I absolutely recommend, and I canโ€™t wait for more in the series.

I only deducted .25 stars because LOK DESERVED TO BE ON THE COVER TOO DAMMIT๐Ÿ˜‚

I was not very impressed. I DNF at like 30% because I was confused with the story telling of this book. I am going to try listening to this book on audio to maybe help me.

This book lives up to what I come to expect from Kimberly Lemming. It was fun, hot and a full on adventure. I really enjoyed this escapist read and can't wait to see more from Kimberly.

I was laughing to the point of tears with this book constantly - this is a crack fic in the best possible way. Kimberly lemming nailed it again.

If you like books with unhinged humor, talking lions, sassy FMCs, MMF romance, knotting, alien abductions and a touch of found family - you'll like this read.

3/5 on my spicy scale.

This book couldnโ€™t have come a better time! Itโ€™s been a bit of a rough week but this book made me laugh so much!! Itโ€™s just such a fun read. Iโ€™ve never read anything like this so I wasnโ€™t sure how I would like it. Who knew I liked spicy Alien rom-coms. If this isnโ€™t your usual read, Iโ€™d still suggest it! Kimberlyโ€™s writing is addictive and extremely descriptive. It was so easy to paint the scene in my head. It was all so creative. I will definitely read more of her books! And I couldnโ€™t tell if I liked Lok or Sol more! But let me tell you it made for a good storyline to have found her โ€œmatesโ€.
