HOT HOT HOT. This steamy, paranormal romance delivers everything as advertised. Living life on the line between brave and stupid, Elodie finds herself in heat for a dragon-shifter. This book is romance lover's favorite forced proximity trope on steroids, and the spice does not disappoint. The high stakes that drive most of the novel are resolved a little too easily for my taste, but the overall reading experience is positively delicious. I'll definitely be picking up more Lola Glass books in the future.

Don't take this book too seriously and you will likely love it. It's not super serious, it's a bit campy, it has low plot and high sexual tension and some very steamy scenes. This book is not going to win any Pulitzer prize but it's fun and romantic and perfect for reading if you are looking for a fluffy, sweet romance with dragons shifters.

This was a fast paced shifter romance! I loved it, it was really easy to listen to and the narrators were great. I will definitely check out other books by this author!

I would like to thank NetGalley for giving me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a super cute, sweet, steamy romance with spice that had me smiling. It was very much a feel-good read and I loved every moment of it. She accidentally triggers the two of them going into heat together and what ensues is a close-quarters, one bed, month long sleepover as they try and resist. I loved the touch-her-and-die vibes that August gave, and the way him and Elodie acted together was sweet.

I loved this. I think what made it better was the narrators as they did an awesome job bringing the two of them to life. I didn't quite understand the whole prison thing? But I was okay with it because I just wanted the two of them to be together.

Loved this. Can't wait for book 2.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this spicy book. It’s short compared to my usual reads at 283 pages. It felt like the best tension filled pages of a romantasy. It presented insta-lust in a way I could easily forgive as instant love or lust usually isn’t something I enjoy. The story didn’t skimp on tension and banter. I can’t get into a romance that doesn’t have that in spades.

I thought this was a fun read - the narrators were great to listen to. At around 6 hours at the standard speed, this was an easy one day listen. This book ended feeling like its going to be a series interconnected standalone - I’ll happily pick up book 2.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lola Glass, and Dreamscape media for this audiobook ARC.

Captivating and Unforgettable

Never Fall for a Dragon by Lola Glass is a fiery and enchanting journey that captivates from start to finish. The chemistry between the protagonist and the dragon shifter is electric, making every moment in their secluded cabin a deliciously tense dance of attraction and resistance.

Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn deliver outstanding performances in the audiobook, bringing the characters to life with depth and emotion. Their narration perfectly captures the humor, heat, and tension of the story, making it an immersive experience that I couldn't stop listening to.

Lola Glass crafts a world filled with intrigue and passion, where the stakes are high, and the emotions are even higher. The plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat, and the characters' struggles and triumphs make for a truly engaging read.

The forbidden romance between the protagonists is beautifully written, with a perfect balance of humor, tension, and heartfelt moments. The stakes of their relationship are high, and the struggle to resist their undeniable connection adds a layer of depth to the story.

If you're looking for a steamy, standalone romance with a happily ever after, this book is a must-listen. Highly recommended for fans of paranormal romance and anyone who loves a good dragon shifter tale!

This was a great short and spicy fantasy romance. The chemistry between the two was absolutely amazing.

The beginning half of the book didn't have much plot or world building, it was mostly just spice. The last half had a whole lot more plot and world building and i absolutely loved every second of it. The plot and world building really made me enjoy this book a whole lot more. I hope to learn more in future books!

The narration was on point, I wouldn't change anything about it.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of the audiobook (:

This book...made me cringe so hard. The plot is very much 'suspend all disbelief if you want to enjoy it'. The worldbuilding is...not great.

There was so much tension between the two of them and I was starting to get into the book and then...it all disappeared overnight. Like her heat just suddenly didn't matter anymore. Making it through a heat without being mated was built up as this huge, impossible thing that's never been done before and it felt like oh 🤷‍♀️ I guess we did it. Nevermind.

I cannot for the life of me tell you why he had to go to dragon jail. (🎶dragon jail, dragon jail 🎶 it's almost time for dragon jail🎶) Or why he assumably informed the dragon police that her heat was over so quickly, considering he knew he'd be carted off to jail as soon as it was over?

There was talk about how August would be banned from Mate Mountain or whatever if he didn't go to prison...? What is Mate Mountain? All we were told was that that's where you go to finalize a mate bond or something like that. Why would he have cared about being banned from Mate Mountain when the male dragons avoid mates like the plague?

August really does not have a personality beyond being obsessed with/wanting to fuck or protect the FMC. Him constantly calling her 'fireball' was also annoying.

The FMC got SO annoying towards the end questioning whether or not he cared about her, trying to make him jealous, arguing with him, being mean to him. Ugh.

It's like any time this book set up stakes for any situation, it was *immediately* undermined. Everything resolves so easily, nothing matters.

This book was really not for me

My thoughts of this is torn. Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn did an amazing job! They dual narrated this multi-POV with perfection. I found myself captures in just listening to their smooth voices without the weird *deep breathing* and/or *human noises* I have previous experienced while listening to audiobooks.

The story itself is going to be either you love it or hate it or it just hit you at the right time as a mood reader. When I first started this, I wasn’t loving it, I wasn’t in a spicy driven novel mood. So I did place it aside to give the story a chance.

This is heavily spiced, the world building lacked, the character development was *okay* and the overall plot was meh. If you love or are in the mood for just straight spicy content with a dragon shifter and a human fighting a mating bond in a more unique way then I’ve ever read. Give it a shot, it’s 283 pages and in KU now!

I don’t know what I was expecting when I requested this audiobook ,but I didn’t think that I would love it this much. Completely binge worthy and definitely something that. I can listen to time and again. After triggering the mating bond between them while in a coffee shop she is whisked away to his cabin so that they can beat the mating call and and not bond. Parts of the book was a little cliche, but I still enjoyed the story. They work as a team to keep from bonding with each other cause he is fated to go to prison for 6 months and he did not want to take her with due to bonding with her.

🔹FATED MATES
🔹TOUCH HER AND DIE

First: New to me author, and as soon as I was finished, I went to see what else she had written because I could NOT turn the book off.
Second: I wish there was more of the series out already because I can see this series being like chips devouring them one after another. The characters, this world, were just so easy to dive into.

Elody & August

Elody is a human and when she sees a woman being confronted by a man a supernatural man a dragon she can't sit idly by while it happens. Her past has shown her she needs to interject. But in doing so she has just changed not only her life but August's as well. Dragons can't predict when or if they will send a human and themselves into heat so that is why they avoid them…

I loved the meet! I loved August's reaction he was so stoic it was almost unnerving, and I think paired with Elody's quizzical nature it was kinda awesome.

Yes, we have forced proximity, will we find out if she is his one and only?
Only time and their determination will we find out.

That ending though… I don't know that I have listened to a dragon shifter book that I enjoyed this much if I am being honest.

Both narrators do a phenomenal job of giving life to these characters. I could NOT stop listening from the time I pressed play I was sucked into this wonderful world. I need and want more of it ASAP, please?!?

An erotic dragon shifter romance erotica! What is not to love? Nothing was cringy to me. I like the spicy scenes and the plot. I liked how short it was too, speedy read. Overall, it was a great pick!

Thank you to Dreamscape and NetGalley for the audio arc. All opinions are my own.

This is a fairly quick read of a sudden “spark” of a bond between Elodie and August. I’m assuming this book is part of a world this author has created but she did a good job explaining the other people and relationships.

Overall I liked the narrators, but due to the voice used for Elodie I was convinced she was a man for the first couple chapters.

I'm not usually a fan of mated bonds because it feels too much like a lack of consent, but this was a nice twist on the trope. Elody and August, the dragon-shifter, are determined to fight their bond, or at least give it their best shot. When the "heat" gets to be too hot, they have to give in a little to get through. It doesn't seem like they are ever really denying themselves, but it still makes for some 🔥🔥🔥 scenes.

Never Fall for a Dragon is the first in a series of dragon-shifter romances.

Elody steps outside, sees this man, and he immediately whisks her off to his cabin for mate reasons.
August is a dragon shifter who knows his mate when he sees her.

Their meeting sets off "heat," which affects both of them. They have to resist this because he's supposed to go to jail for six months, and if they complete the bond she would have to go with him.

The plot of this book doesn't make much sense, but I really liked all the supporting characters. August has a sister who's married to a cool demon, and Elody has a group of friends who really care about her. Mention is made of a demon-run vampire-hunting organization that sounds really interesting. So this book wasn't my favorite, but I like the world and am interested in reading future installments.

Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn are both expert narrators who do an excellent job with this book.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for access to an early audio copy of this book.

This is a SPICY book with a tiny bit of plot, and I was here for it. 🔥🤭 3.5 stars rounded down because I wish there was a bit more plot and humor in the story. 🌟

If you want a paranormal romcom with forced proximity, a lot of romance, a bit of comedy, dragons, and a big bucket of spice, this will be perfect for you!

The author wastes no time and throws you into the action right away. You kind of just learn about everything as the story goes along, but essentially, it's fun and easily understandable with a happy ending.

The narrators for the audiobook did an absolutely amazing job—I would highly recommend getting this book in an audio format!

Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for this audiobook ARC! All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley, Lola Glass and Dreamscape Media for an ARC of the new audiobook! Exactly what I was looking for to break up my recent reads: a steamy, low stakes, fated mates romance. Well narrated with dual POV. Was the writing incredible? No, but that’s not what I expect from a series like this. The ebook is available on KU for those that want to read & listen!

This was exactly what I hoped it would be! A low-stakes, steamy romance with fated mates and some serious protector vibes. I flew through this, and the audiobook was really enjoyable. I thought the female narrator seemed to pause between words too often, which was distracting at times, but overall this book was great.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for my gifted ALC.

I was intrigued by the Dragon shifter mate piece of the story, but as I got into it, I realized it wasn’t my cup of tea.

What I liked:
It’s a Dual POV and the audio readers did a great job. The 2 main characters cared for each other even though they were thrown together in this strange mated heat situation.

What I didn’t like:
I read a variety of spice level books but this one is spice over plot without a lot of character development. I’m sure others will love it. It just wasn’t for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview it.

This was a nice easy listen. I enjoyed both narrators and the plot was easy to follow. Elody is 99% of the time practical and level headed about the whole thing, which made me not roll my eyes terribly at some of the tropes. I am a sucker for forced proximity though.
