On the morning of her wedding, Eve discovers that her fiance is cheating on her.  As revenge, she decides to read the incriminating messages she received in front of all the guests, instead of her vows... and then runs away, straight into the arms of his biggest nemesis, Oliver Duval.
Oliver decides to take advantage of the opportunity - and makes her an offer she couldn't refuse... a fake relationship.
It started as revenge for both of them, but turned into much more.

It was a fun story that made me giggle (the beginning was so good!), but in my opinion, it was completely too long... The pace at the beginning was amazing, and the story flowed great, but towards the middle, it became too slow and even a bit boring. I think this could have been a great book, if it wasn't so long...
Plus, the third act breakup was unnecessary, forced, and illogical.

As for the audio - the female narrator (Summer Morton) was great. On the other hand, the voice of the male narrator (Will M. Watt) was pretty creepy and kind of ruined my experience.

All in all, even though there were parts that didn't work for me, if you like rom-coms about billionaires, fake relationships, and revenge, I recommend you give this book a try.

I received this ALC from NetGalley and Montlake in return for an honest review.

Wasn’t expecting a lot with this one, so reading a full-blown plot kind of surprised me. However, no matter how many billionaire romances I read, I’m realizing the trope is truly not for me.

Spice was spicy at like 3-3.5/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️

(Thank you, Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.)

No Romeo by Donna Alam follows Eve on her wedding day. Just hours before she is supposed to say I Do to Mitch, Eve recieves text message from one of the many women that he has been having an affair with. Instead of saying her vows Eve reads the messages and then flees the wedding. Running toward traffic in a busy part of London Eve jumps into the first car that has its doors unlocked and falling into the lap of Oliver Deubel. This chance meeting turns into a partnership in the making. Oliver and Mitch are enimies and now Oliver has Eve on his side. The end goal is a property that Oliver wants to turn into a luxery hotel however, the owner will only sell it to a family man. Eve and Oliver have a fake relationship that in the end will get Eve a work visa before she is deported. This was a hilarious book that had me laughing out loud. I loved the chemistry between Eve and Oliver throughout the book. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for providing an advanced copy of this audio book.

Narrated by: Narrated by Summer Morton; Will M.
Watt

The voice for Oliver was perfect. Will Watt nailed it. The personality came through. Summer also did a good job with Eve. They played off of each other well and made the banter more enjoyable.

A runaway bride, a bit of blackmail, and a dog named Bo all give us a fun and sexy story.

Eve discovers her fiancée is cheating right as she is about to walk down the aisle. Eve is not about let him off easy. After letting everyone in on his secrets she runs right into the arms of his business rival.

Oliver is it for blood. He hates the ex and will do everything and anything to beat him. He will even use Eve. But under that ruthless businessman is a man that will make massive changes in his world for the woman he soon falls in love with.

This story will make you laugh out loud. The banter, the things Eve puts Oliver through and Bo, the dog will have you smiling. The growth of their relationship was fun and steamy.

Oliver with his stuffy, snooty self is not ready for Eve. She shakes up his world and he finds that he loves it.

Loved the story and the characters.

This was my first book by this author and I'm definitely going to check out her other work. The two leads were both well developed and likeable characters, I particularly enjoyed the growth the MMC went through throughout the book. The romantic storyline was well paced and sizzling hot, with the build up so perfectly written it left you holding your breath in anticipation. The banter between the two leads added a nice dimension to their dynamic that was both spicy and sweet. A really well written romance.

This was definitely a spicy read and had some great tension and banter between our main characters, Oliver and Eve.

Overall, I did think it was a bit too long and felt that the third act breakup seemed a bit forced. I do enjoy when a morally grey MMC goes soft for their woman.

Pick this one up if you enjoy:
* Morally grey billionaire
* Runaway bride with a fun meet cute
* Ex's rival
* Fake dating & forced proximity
* Blackmail

The narrators Summer Morton & Will M. Watt did an excellent job of portraying the feisty Summer and the arrogant Oliver.

📚 STORY - This is the first time reading this story, and honestly, I actually don't mind it. For me, it was a 3.5 star, flowed well, and had a decent plot line with good spice. I will recommend to friends and book lovers.

🎙 AUDIOBOOK - This is where I drop a half star. The male narrator made me instantly uncomfortable with how creepy and sleezy he sounded.... he reminded me of someone from a psycho thriller movie. This was an instant feeling from his first word. It was very jarring for the context and content of the book. I felt like the character's plot line would have meant he should sound more smooth and charismatic - this did not come through that way. I even went to find other reviews on this narrator with previous work, just to check what others thought, and his feedback is normally good, so maybe this is a once-off misinterpretation from him.
The female narrator was great 👏 Flawless.

🎤 QUALITY - I will say that the male's chapters were very lound compared to the female one (I think the volume was not set comfortably). I had to turn the volume down and up for each different narrator.

Overall, I didn't mind it and will maybe listen to it again in the future.

Book: No Romeo
Author: Donna Alam
Rating: 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I always love a spicy contemporary romance that starts with a runaway bride, calling our her cheating fiance.

... then falling into the lap of a billionaire, gorgeous, British, rival of said ex? Even better.

You get so many amazing tropes in this one (some of the best in my opinion) and I literally devoured it in two days.

The MMC is such a delicious morally grey character and I am absolutely obsessed with him.

You get:
• Spicy
• Dual POV
• Contemporary Romance
• Runaway Bride
• Billionaire MMC
• One Night Stand
• Fake Dating

I highly recommend this one. The audiobook was just perfect! Available on August 6th!
