Success has come quickly to Holmes, Marple & Poe Investigations. The New York City agency led by three detectives Brendan Holmes, “the brain,” Margaret Marple, “the eyes,” and Auguste Poe, the “muscle” with famous names and mysterious pasts is one major case away from cementing its professional reputation! Great read!! This book was a fantastic thriller! It had suspense, intriguing, action packed, mystery, murder, a great who done it and a few crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this one! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I love this series. Holmes and Poe are troubled but very intelligent men. Margaret Marple is a fascinating character. She has secrets, as they all do, buried in her past. We really get to see Margaret using her detective skills. There are surprises revealed. The ending is left on a cliffhanger. It’s a brilliant book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

It was interesting. I’m not sure if you learn more about the characters in the first book, but it did not stop me from enjoying the story. It was a pretty basic mystery. Entertaining at least.

Margaret Marple, Auguste Poe and Brendan Holmes are private investigators in New York. They live and work in an old bakery. They have an administrative assistant who owns a large rottweiler, and a cat. Holmes is a heroin addict and has checked himself into the rehab center where his mother lived out her life. But a series of child kidnappings pulls him out of rehab and back into the thick of an investigation that stretches across the ocean to London, where more babies have gone missing. Babies have been abducted from a private birthing center; a bus of school age children has disappeared. Marple figures out quickly that the children are going to be sold on the black market, but who is responsible? Every lead heads in a dead end. Meanwhile, Holmes is being stalked by a superfan, but who may have an ulterior motive for his interest in Holmes. As with the first book, there were almost too many storylines being pursued, but I do like the characters who continue to develop. I will be reading the third book when it comes out.

Book Review: Holmes is Missing by James Patterson and Brian Sitts

I could not put this book down! I received an advanced reader copy through NetGalley, and I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy so I can reread it. Sequels can sometimes be disappointing, but this one was ten times better than the first!

This novel has everything you want: gripping characters that you love and want to shake, a storyline that captivates you from start to finish, and a villain you're excited to see again. It might be selfish to say, but I want book three now!

I highly recommend reading this book with friends; there were so many moments when I wanted to turn to someone and say, “Did you read what just happened?!”

Needless to say, this is a five-star read!

A trio of private detectives have risen to celebrity status, but a series of child abductions challenge their investigative skills. They are missing the reasoning powers of one of the partners who is in rehab. He leaves rehab to help the other two, but he's also investigating a seemingly unrelated case involving his mother and a mysterious watchmaker.

The first half of the book was very slow and I almost gave it up. I liked the second half better, but the implausibility of most of what happened left me feeling rather flat at the end. Even though I didn't really connect with the characters or the story, the writing was very good.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is the second in the series about three private investigators working together in NYC. Holmes is just returning from a mysterious absence when they all encounter a new case - babies are stolen from hospitals in NYC and London, plus school age children disappear from a school bus. In addition, they are working on a mysterious case of murders that look like natural deaths, once a year, on September 30. This is an action-packed series, clever, fun, and unique. I really like the characters and want to learn more about their past lives. Hopefully, the series will continue. Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for providing an ARC.

This is the second book in the Holmes, Marple and Poe series by these authors. The PI firm of Holmes, Marple and Poe has been operating with just Marple and Poe as Holmes is recovering at a drug addition center. When six new born babies are kidnapped from a maternity ward, all three PIs must combine their skills of detection to rescue the babies.

Very little is explained about the past lives of the three main characters in the first novel but a little more is reveled in this second book of the series. I have read several Patterson novels including the Women's Murder Club series and the Alex Cross series. The first Holmes, Marple and Poe book seemed a light more lighthearted than the these earlier series but I think this new book was a little bit darker. Unplanned pregnancies, drug addiction, new born kidnapping, and unsettled childhood drama all contribute to a bit heavier feel.

This quick easy read has quirky characters and intriguing plots. It was a little slow at the beginning but things began to pick up about half way through. If you are a fan of Petterson, you will definitely want to give this new series a try.
